This was an emergency stay for a family member so according to them,
La Fourmi had lovely staff, who despite the language difficulties made made them feel at home, beautiful views, especially from the breakfast balcony, air conditioning was brilliant, only lacking a mosquito net, but they made the bedroom into their little haven by putting tissue into the gaps of their tissue.
No TV in their room,.
Breakfast was homemade rolls and jam and fruit, which they said was delicious...
Ok not 5* but then, you aren't paying for 5* accommodation, definitely 3* with a 5* view of the beach.
Very good value for Noseby.

The location is right in the heart of the Ambataloaka club street and only door down from places like Zeeburger and Taxi Be. The balcony offers the best view of all the happenings and people that traverse the busy street for those who love to watch what is going on. The room was nice and has a hot water shower and air-conditioning, which are essential for us westerners who do not take cold showers.

The location was fantastic; stunning sunsets, and the oasis of greenery was amazing. The owner Pascal has dedicated the majority of space to the lovely gardens, swaying palms, and all things nature. Both Pascal and the manager Sandrine were incredibly helpful with everything and anything - scooter rental, dive shops, boat trips, trips to the national park, airline issues, local transportation - just a fantastic experience start to finish.

We loved the room and especially the terrace with a very comfortable sofa like two beds, magnificent view and always a nice breeze. Very nice pool. Everything spotless clean. The personnel is really helpful and smiling. The WiFi strong. Close by are many places where to eat at good prices, a hub where to take a Tuc Tuc and a Place where you can buy beers or snacks or water bottles with malgashi prices (a big bottle of beer or of water are less than 1€). It's also a very good place for excursions as it's close to Hell Ville, the harbour do you can easily go to Nosy Iranja (I strongly recommend this). Ask for Aldo +261 32 57 169 39 if he still working organising tours.

Staff in this place is absolutely lovely. Despite limited english, the communication was easy. food served was excellent ( both dinner and breakfast)), and air con saved our lives, as well as mosquitoes net. The fridge was really good also.

Nosy Be is a lovely island, although you need to be prepared for the roads and poverty, especially within the towns. In the countryside, there are some amazing places to stay and visit. Money can be difficult to get hold of as most of the ATMs are within the towns. We found that our hotel would exchange Euros for Ariary but that may not be the same everywhere. There is a great hostel in Hell Ville called Tamana - it has a great roof top bar and serves really nice food. The Baobab Restaurant in Ambataloaka is really nice and serves a wide range of food but you do need to book in advance.

If you are considering Madagascar do not bother with the...
If you are considering Madagascar do not bother with the mainland, Nosy Be is cleaner, much more beautiful and has all the things one looks for when visiting.
Excursion to see the wildlife and the mountain named Mount Passot will be the highlights of my trip here.
It’s a place where you can really relax, rest, and take full advantage of you holiday in Nosy Be. It’s peaceful and quiet, clean, well managed and you will experience some of the best sunsets in the whole Madagascar. They also help you with everything you need, advice on excursions, meals, transfers. Staying in one of the huts was beautiful and you get to wake up with a great view over the sea and the mangroves.
Arriving from a long europea flight, this place was exactly what I was hoping for.

Its very peaceful, 2 cute dogs, wonderful sunset and amazing personel.
An added + for a non French speaker is that the owner and the young man Stefano speaks fluent English.
One of the things recommended to me was to stay the night in Nosy Iranja Island, not to be missed.
Excellent small hotel carved right into the beach, their pool and dining area/bar is basically at the beach. Lovely staff, great food, everything was excellent. With frequent power outages in Madagascar, this place has a really good backup plan of powering standing fans with batteries/generators otherwise it would be too hot to sleep, which is a problem we faced in other hotels
The staff were very welcoming, location is idyllic, sunsets are mesmerising.
Boat trips from the hotel, to snorkel in crystal clear water, with turtles, and a multitude of fish on a deserted island are really special.
Traditional fishing in the bay was great fun.
Walking along the beach by the hotel you can reach beautiful mangroves, or a little local fishing village.
The lodge made us feel completely at home and went above and beyond what they had to do to make our stay an enjoyable one. The restaurant is good with different specials each day. Special mention for Herluch who took particular care of us and made sure every event booked went well. Should also be mentioned he makes the best cocktails in all of Nosy Be!
A hotel with a great view of the ocean. Although located in a crowded area, the hotel is not noisy. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is delicious and can be enjoyed on a private balcony. The hostess of the hotel, Felicia, is simply amazing. One of the best hotels in our travels.

Private beach, no other hotels/resorts nearby, no one trying to sell or hassle. Perfect location to get away from the tourist crowds.
It was comfortable, close to the beach, it had air conditioning which was a blessing in Madagascar. Staff arranged great tours, close to tuk tuks that are transport around town. Large grounds and rooms,. The bed was very big owners go out of their way to make your stay pleasant

Beautiful and well-maintained grounds with pool. Immaculately manicured garden. Delicious food. Super helpful owners. A short but wonderful and relaxing stay. Best place in all of Madagascar that we stayed.
The room was great and spacious and the pool was amazing. We spent many hours enjoying it. The chef, Din (sp?), did a wonderful job cooking lunch and dinner meals for us, and at a reasonable price.
The hotel is at a wonderful beach. Staf are kind and helpful. Food’s amazing. The garden is so beautiful - we loved the lemurs. 99% of the guests were Italian - very nice people :)
