The hotel is much smaller than it looks at pictures and its location is in nowhere-there is nothing around. But staff was very nice and friendly and the desert trip organised by hotel was amazing.

Riad Tagmadarte Ferme d'Hôte, hotel in Zagora

Set in the palm grove of Zagora, the Riad is next to the sand dunes. Riad Tagmadarte Ferme d'Hôte offers double rooms and bungalows.

It was an unforgettable experience; staying in an oasis was magical. The ambiance and charm of the place captivated us from the moment we arrived. We especially loved the friendly host and staff, who met us by car a few streets away to guide us to the venue. Even though we arrived very late in the evening, the host kindly prepared a fantastic supper for us. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we could only enjoy one night there, and I wish we could have stayed longer. Overall, we loved our time at Riad Tagmadarte Ferme d'Hôte and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of an oasis with warm hospitability. .

    Spent 3 nights here.

Spent 3 nights here. Pleasant town with beautiful palm trees and landscape. Brilliant temperature in early November. Prefer it to Agadir, Essaouiraand Marrakesh. Laid back atmosphere. But you need a car

Nice very welcoming humans away from touristic path. Very historical. You can ask at chez Ali about guides like Abdelhad or Molay Mustapha to show you around. Not far from desert. Very rich of history and culture of Morocco. Very special and unique.

No decent size shops not even a proper supermarket eg Carrefour. Can be difficult if not speak French or Arabic . Lots of beggars and sad sights like a man scavenging in bins. Dry and hot and dusty. No local bus services . Pedestrian crossings are ignored. Feels like the back of beyond lots of rubbish

Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert.

Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert. The village itself has a lot of nice bars, restaurants and hotels, and is the starting point for guided tours in the desert, all or not on a dromedary, all or not with an overnight stay in tent camps, for 1 or more days. Next to that, Zagora has twice a week a very big local market (Wednesday and Sunday) that is a must to experience! Further down the N9 you can find the small town Tamegroute, famous for its artisanal green pottery. Also a must to stop there and see the 7 families at work outside.

If we could pick this hotel up and take it with us on our trip through Morocco we would. Greeted with tea, dates and nuts while we checked in, then shown to a beautiful medium sized room with lovely bathroom. Great shower pressure and robes on the side, comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. The pool is a good size and there are lovely gardens. It is out of town so is beautifully quiet and sheltered us well from the winds and dust. The evening meal had good choices and was very tasty with excellent service. The breakfast was epic!

During our roadtrip through Marocco as a group of 3 young women we stopped for one night in Zagora. The Riad is located quiet in the center and we got an authentic impression of the city as there were almost no tourists. The host was really nice to us and available for any kind of request. We highly recommend the breakfast which was freshly cooked in the morning and it was a LOT of stuff! One of the best breakfasts we had in Marocco. We can just recommend this Riad to everyone who wants to stay in Zagora for a fair price.

Perfect location if you have your own car. Easy to locate and safe to park. Nice walks in the palm tree gardens and old center of Amezrou around the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding. Good WiFi and sat TV. We stayed two more nights making this our base camp for excursions... it was too lovely to leave. Extremely relaxing paradise.
