This place is truly magical! I never felt so welcomed anywhere in the world. The staff is amazing, so kind and helpful, very caring. The room is lovely and the views unforgettable. In terms of food, breakfast is beyond delicious, and we were also lucky to try some local fruit from the trees around the hotel. Oh and we saw so many animals in the area - colourful birds, monkeys, and even elephants. I wish we booked for more than 2 nights - it’s absolutely the best place to stay in Sigiriya!

Ahmid was a very friendly and helpful person who always had a smile. The breakfast was great, made fresh just the way we wanted by the host family. A beautiful hotel staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet really nice lots of choices. Had an evening meal, for such a large hotel prices very reasonable. Had a problem with the bath reported it, was repaired with 30 minutes. Great service. Will be going back.

Sigiriya was wonderful!
Sigiriya was wonderful! Climbing this rock and Pidurangala Rock at sunset was an awesome experience. I did it on separate days. Each has its beauty and aura about them.
I had a great massage on 2 days in a row after the climb.
We also visited the Minneriya National Park. This is the park to visit if you want to see herds of elephants! From big to baby ones, single to herds. Even the ones with tusks. It was rare and super cool! They got them all!

So much to do and see!
So much to do and see! 3 nights is plenty, but easy to fill it! Climb the rock, absolutely do a village tour; go for a herbal massage (but prepare for a different kind of massage to normal!); and go on safari! We had a driver which made getting around super easy, but there are countless tuktuks you can rent.

Excellent natural landmark with lush forest surroundings. But climb up is overhyped. Only the view from top is extraordinary. On the contrary climb up the adjacent Pidurangala Rock has more rewarding view of the main Rockmass in the afternoon/sunset

It was a very expensive entry fee to the rock, USD32 per person. The guides around the base are very persistent and can become a nuisance. We had a good tuk tuk ride round the base, which was lovely and booked privately, oh and it's perfectly ok to haggle on the price.
Plenty of local cafes and juice bars. Fab place was The Green Hut Hotel, just 10 mins walk from Lion Rock, lovely rooms, great English speaking host and super food. Local temple worth a 15 minute look see.
Tuk tuks everywhere and good value.
Safari to Minneriya was great, saw loads of elephants.
Great jungle vibe and nicer than the photos suggest. We spent a fantastic couple of days here exploring Sigiriya and Dambulla then relaxing by the pool, surrounded by coconut trees, and drinking tea on the terrace. Staff were great at helping us organise taxis and tuk-tuks to get around. Good, reasonably priced cafe/restaurant on site, and the village of Sigiriya, which has a handful of places to eat, is within walking distance, too.
The view and location of this place is best. The family is very sweet. They were always smiling and always there if we needed something. the hotel owner is a guide at Sigiriya rock, The son tour guide, jeep safari and vilage tour. so you can easily arrange a safari '. breakfast is delicious. The room is very clean, spacious with nice hot water and a working AC. The Wifi is great as well. We loved the hotel everything is good.
It's the perfect place for nature lovers! The surroundings are absolutely stunning, with greenery.

It's very close to both Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, making it easy to visit these incredible sites. Additionally, the Dambulla Cave Temple is not far away,
Homestay at a very nice family, delicious meals for dinner, big pool next door in a dreamy setting. The house is both close to Sigiriya and Dambulla and the host can organize trips for you. We stayed 3 nights with our kids in the 2 rooms upstairs with our own terrace and had a great time here.
