Absolutely amazing hotel, one of the best where we have stayed in Sri Lanka. The view is breathtaking with the Lion Rock and the rice fields just in front. All the staff is very friendly and helpful and will make your stay very pleasant, plus the restaurant serves delicious food at a very good price. This is a basic hotel with a large room and a reasonable-sized bathroom that is kept clean.
The hotel borders a forecast, and the hotel grounds are covered with various types of trees and plants. In the morning, various birds bird chirping give us a feeling we are in the middle of a forest. A swimming pool is located in the middle of the hotel grounds.
The rooms were kept clean with a large bed. Comfortable mattresses (firmness 4.5 out of 5).
The bathroom is simple but kept clean.
Laundry service is available – single washing machine and tumble dryer usage costs circa £10. That is reasonable compared to many other hotels.
The restaurant is available, and the food is reasonable, but it has a limited menu. On the main road, a 15-minute walk from the Hotel, a few restaurants and convenient shops are located.
Staff – All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Willing to go the extra mile to give us the satisfaction.
Note: The visitors were advised not to venture out of the hotel without guidance after 7 pm due to the presence of wild elephants.
I will return to this hotel.

We had a driver which made getting around super easy, but there are countless tuktuks you can rent.

It was a very expensive entry fee to the rock, USD32 per person. The guides around the base are very persistent and can become a nuisance. We had a good tuk tuk ride round the base, which was lovely and booked privately, oh and it's perfectly ok to haggle on the price.
Plenty of local cafes and juice bars. Fab place was The Green Hut Hotel, just 10 mins walk from Lion Rock, lovely rooms, great English speaking host and super food. Local temple worth a 15 minute look see.
Tuk tuks everywhere and good value.
Safari to Minneriya was great, saw loads of elephants.

We spend one night here.
We spend one night here. Depending on what you want to do it was plenty of time. We arrived in the early afternoon checked into our accommodation and went to Dambulla Cave Temple. The following morning we got up before sunrise to climb Lion Rock, which despite what people say, is worth it. The fee was acceptable for us since it is a UNESCO site. After the hike we had breakfast and made our way further south.

What a wonderful location!
What a wonderful location! The pool was a true blessing after our exhausting flight, and the environment is quite soothing. Asanka's meal was incredibly delicious. The personnel was really helpful!
We had such a lovely stay at Shady Mango Villa! The room we had was huge, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful and included eggs, pancakes, fruit, yogurt and toasties and the location is a close walk to a few great restaurants and a short drive to Sigiriya and Pidurangala.
The family are so sweet, kind and accommodating and made us feel very at home - Sunil has a tuk tuk and is a tour guide so took us to Dambulla Cave Temple and Pidurangala Rock. Thank you again for such a lovely stay 🥰
The resort is very peaceful but within easy reach of Sigiriya, national parks and Dambulla. The food is good and the facilities well maintained. What really makes it is the staff, they are attentive and helpful. We arrived early for check-in and the gentleman on reception ensured our room was ready quickly. They assisted in arranging transfers and trips, all of which were brilliant. Sadly we did not get the names of all the lovely people who looked after us but a special thanks to Wimukthi who was brilliant.
Clean comfortable room in a tranquil area. Bus from Dambulla drops you off on the main road about a 5 minute walk. The family is very sweet and makes you feel at home from the beginning. We had an amazing stay spending time with them and their animals, and learning about their culture every day. Just be aware that the wifi in Sigiriya is not the best, just like in any rural area in Sri Lanka. All in all, one of the best stays we have had in the country. The breakfast is amazing too!

My husband and I had a perfect holiday at SigiriyaJungles. From arrival to departure, we were treated with warmth, and we felt very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and elegant. Architecturally a beautiful place.
The F&B Manager was always with a "YES", The food was scrumptious, and the buffet had a good variety.
We also had a nice walk along the village and the hotel is surrounded by paddy cultivation.
We will for sure return.
Great jungle vibe and nicer than the photos suggest. We spent a fantastic couple of days here exploring Sigiriya and Dambulla then relaxing by the pool, surrounded by coconut trees, and drinking tea on the terrace. Staff were great at helping us organise taxis and tuk-tuks to get around. Good, reasonably priced cafe/restaurant on site, and the village of Sigiriya, which has a handful of places to eat, is within walking distance, too.
I can only say positive things about the Lion Lodge. The owners make you feel like at home and are very kind and available to help you planning your trip. They showed me how to get to different places by bus and where the bus stop was. I also requested the breakfast and it was delicious!

having stayed at the hotel before I knew the views were incredible and this was the reason we came back. unbelievable views of Sigiriya and only a short 25 min journey to the rock meaning you can access early morning climbs. the gym was well equipped and the buffet half board options were plentiful. the bar staff were friendly especially Kumar *shout out*.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The room was super clean and modern. Location is quiet and close to all the attractions Sigiriya has to offer. We also really recommend going for safari organized by the owner. With more than 50 elephants, that was one of the best experiences we had in Sri Lanka. Thank You once again!!! Peter and Yana
