Our First Stay In Sri Lanka, Based on being reasonably close to The airport. The Owner is super nice, Very helpfull. Our rooms were at the top of the accomadation block and had nice views. We only had Breakfast, But as our first time, We were surprised at the amount, And qaulity. Would reccommend

A great BUDGET hotel, in an old style, it is a bit dated, but ULTRA clean, in a great location, with fantastic access to the beach. Two very friendly dogs, that love to be fussed. A great open, fan cooled, dinning area over looking the pool. The food and juices were reasonably price and good quantity. Good WiFi in all areas of the hotel and powerful water pressure

Loved this hotel. It was so beautifully decorated. The art was gorgeous. Our room was lovely... comfortable, clean, spacious. Bathroom and shower were great.We had our own balcony. It was lovely to have the swimming pool. Food was fabulous and beautifully presented. The staff were really attentive, accommodating and helpful. I'd totally recommend this hotel.

It was walking distance to main street. It had a pool. Price included airport transfer. Spacious bedroom with view over gardens at the rear so quiet. Looks like they are working on renovations. It had a nice spacious bright feel.

Given the location of Negombo to Colombo its a good location to the city but I would advise take two days in Negombo (nothing much in Colombo and Negombo)and make a few more days to Galle (very peaceful quiet, touristy) and definitely catch that Kandy to Ella train for that epic train pic. Overall beautiful experience and the people very welcoming kind and loving.

The hotel stay was the best. The staff was exceptionally helpful including the Hotel Manager. Great food. Along the street variety of restaurants with delicious food is available.
I would highly recommend the Jetwing Beach Hotel and making the bookings through Booking.com

We booked only one night in Negombo, to be close to the airport, as we were flying home the next day. The room was very spacious and clean. We did not take breakfast, as had to leave at 6am for the airport. We would be happy to visit Negombo again, and hopefully spend a little longer there.

Did not get to see much of Negombo. It was a very nice hotel I booked a two bed room and I got exactly what I asked for. Next time I would like to get something closer to reception. The toilet , hot water and pressure was great. We enjoyed our short stay.

Negombo is in two parts.
Negombo is in two parts. I was in a district of Negombo, close to the airport not in Negombo itself. I did not realise this nor was it made clear.
I thought the hotel was an airport transit hotel. It wasn't t as it offered no shower and change facilities once you checked out. The reception area was tiny. There was no comfortable area to sit,no outside space. I had too long from checkout to my flight. I therefore had to pay to keep my room on. There was quite a walk to Browns beach, few shops and restaurants along the way. No signs either to the beach..If you require a hotel overnight, free airport shuttle and you have a decent flight time then the hotel would be okay. Otherwise I would not recommend as there is nothing to do at the hotel and restricted to other amenities.

This is usually the first stop arriving to Sri Lanka or the last stop on the way back to the airport. However, Negombo has the potential to be a destination in itself. The beaches are not bad (may not be as good as down south), nice beach front cafes, restaurants and deck chairs to chill with a drink and watch the sunsets. Diving is possible during the season (not mid April to Sept). Lots of cafes and restaurants with variety of food (local, western, Asian and middle eastern). Stays can be in hostels, small family run hotels or 4 & 5 star hotel chains. Negombo has the canals, churches, Buddhist temples and Hindu Temples to explore. Negombo town is not as busy as Colombo, but has everything you need. Train and main Bus terminal will take you to all destinations within the country, not forgetting the proximity to the International airport. Recommend 2 to 3 full days.
A really great first night in Sri Lanka. We made use of the restaurant and spa facilities which I'd absolutely recommend! The food was excellent and they had an acoustic guitarist/singer in the restaurant which really added to the atmosphere. We had amazing massages in the spa for a really good price. The staff were attentive and polite and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is easily walkable to the beach but we only stayed in negombo for one night so didn't explore too much. All round, happy with my experience
The room is perfect. Clean, quiet. And it is good for taking a rest if you just arrived in Sri Lanka or are about to leave the country. I was facing some problems at the airport's departure gate, so I have to stay one more night near the airport. And Terrace Green hotel gave me what I want at the moment. So, I can have a good rest.
Free filtered water is provided. Great.
Also, I have lunch at the restaurant. The taste is good at a relatively cheap price. I recommend trying lunch or dinner here.
Lovely hotel right on a clean sandy beach, easy to get to the airport (4000 rupee taxi). The room was clean and comfy bed with balcony overlooking beach. The AC worked well and I had fridge in the room. Shower was good. breakfast was good, standard eggs toast and butter and jam, and decent coffee.
Milan the owner was helpful in arranging taxis etc and all the staff were friendly.
I stayed 2 nights and then started my month tour around Sri Lanka and then 1 night at the end before flying home.
The pool is really nice and as the beaches in Negombo are not that great (compared to other beaches in Sri Lanka) a good pool is nice to have in Negombo. The rooms are a little old, but for the price, the value-money-ratio is okay in my opinion. Breakfast was really good. The staff was quite nice and helpful. Only Check-in did not go well, even through we informed them we would arrive during the night, nobody was there to give us a room. It took really long until we finally got our room.
It is definitely a good choice to stay in Negombo area. Very close to the train station Kattuwa. Even it is not directly at the beach, it is not very far to walk. Being a bit away from the main street it also means it is a quiet neighborhood. I really liked that the team is female. After travelled for a longer time in Sri Lanka, more or less all over, it is rather exceptional to be welcomed by a female host and staff. As a woman travelling on her own, I found that very pleasant.
If you are looking for a peaceful and cozy place to stay, Cozy Inn is the ideal place to be. Mr. Rehan Fernando’s customer service skills are spectacular. By far the best customer service I had in Sri Lanka. Clean and comfortable rooms were a plus. What attracted us the most, there are many restaurants and pubs nearby. Also, I really did enjoy the sea breeze coming from the Negombo beach. Highly recommend the Cozy Inn for a perfect stay. I will definitely come back next year.

The place is very neat and located walking distance from the beach. It was the perfect spot to rest after a long flight. The owner and staff are super friendly and helped us with getting transport arranged to our next destination. The owner brought us to the busstop and patiently waited for over 20 minutes till the buss arrived.
I would highly recommend to begin or end your trip in Sri Lanka at Summer Side in Negombo!
Our stay in J Leaf Hotel By Blue Bird was great. The family owned owned hotel is close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The hosts are great and helped us to organize transfer to our next destination. The homemade breakfast was really delicious. We definetly recommend the hotel.
Moreover it was no problem to storage some luggage at the hotel until the end of our vacation in Sri Lanka!
Stopped off here after a long flight from the UK to just chill for the day before exploring Sri Lanka and was perfect for that as has a nice pool and very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and well presented and excellent value for money. A short walk to the beach road which has restaurants and shops. The beach isn't amazing but fine to stroll along too.
5 stars all the way. Everything about Goldi sands hotel was great. From very fast check-in & warm welcome to room & hotel facilities. Staff are extremely well trained and very helpful. Buffets were all great too. General Manager was also there spoke to us & personally checked we got the best for our stay. Got free upgrade to a delix room too.
The owners Brenda and Ron are just the loveliest people who welcome you into their beautiful place which is like an oasis in this somewhat sad town of Negombo Beach.

This is my first hotel in Sri Lanka. Hotel in very good location next to main road. 2 minutes walking distance from the beach. No view from the room but it was a big room and clean enough. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained where we could find good food etc. and regularly asked if we needed anything.
