As was the good beach location Dave the strong tides which can’t be helped.they also helped organise the whale /dolphin watching. Also great for a trip to Galle and back

Eating out can be expensive and caters to Western tastes. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find authentic Sri Lankan food, a real shame.
There are beautiful temples in the area, drop your smoothie bowl and experience the real Sri Lanka.

Mirissa is a great beach, currently the ocean is rough in April due to unusual weather patterns perhaps after Taiwan earthquake .
Fun beach where it totally comes alive from 4pm with restaurants row and in the mornings too could use the beach chairs swim while sipping a cocktail or have afternoon tea, currently only dip but for surf better. The food served with cocktails , wines alcohol and deserts are gourmet and delish and upto international standards.

Not sure where the rave reviews come from, there are much nicer beaches/beach locations in Sri Lanka! The town of Mirissa is actually quite littered and the offerings in terms of cafes, restaurants is not great.

Lovely long beach with many restaurants and bars along the way. Always a happy hour/hours at most places. Food is relatively expensive but you have to remember you are literally eating on the beach. Good surf spots and even a little body surf action on the main beach.

A very beautiful and friendly place, the beaches are incredible, we stayed 4 nights before moving on to Colombo, had we not already booke a paid for the hotel in Colombo, I can definitely say that we would've stayed in mirrisa for the entire time we were inSri Lanka.
The hotel was in an ideal location, run by very nice and friendly people.
I would highly recomend to stay at Dilara Resort if your are planning to go on excursions, it's perfect.
-Best breakfasts we had in a hotel in Sri Lanka
-Comfortable and nicely furnished rooms
-Nice common areas (restaurant on the rooftop and a small terrace on the first floor) to chill out/read books at the evening
-Staff is doing their best to make you feel comfortable (ie we were reading books at night in the common area, the staff member noticed us and brought anti-mosquito candles just for us)
-It’s not directly by the beach or in the centre (still within walking distance though), making it more cozy and calm than rest of Mirissa
We are two Norwegian girls that stayed at Anchorage for two weeks. We absolutly loved staying at the Anchorage. Not only was the location right next to Mirissa beach perfect for us, the staff was also super friendly! We were treated like a part of the family, and felt super safe her. The breakfast, made by lovely Chamila, was amazing and we could choose between omelettes, delicious pancakes and granola bowls. The rooms were very clean and pretty quite during the evenings. Would really recommend this hotel!
the location is so great! its practically on the beach, just a few steps away. there are so many great restaraunts down the beach, and its just such a beautiful area.
the staff is so nice and helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic! we asked for extra blankets and pillows and they had some waiting for us after our day of exploring. the room was very comfortable and the wifi was decent.
i have no complaints about mirissa village. we will definitely be staying here again next time we are in sri lanka!
The Palace Mirissa was a beautiful and calm accommodation located on the View Point Hill above the city. Given the scenic view on the sea, the way to the beach was a little bit tricky. In order to enter the hotel a quite steep road needs to be passed or vice versa in case to get to the beach.
We appreciated very much the possibility to get access to the beach via the partner hotel “Paradise Beach Club” with a nice pool free of charge.
Everybody of the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, surrounded by nature, but still Mirissa beach is well accessible. Especially since the hotel offers a free tuktuk service between 10am and 7pm to the main road, and after those hours the tuktuk driver can be reached by WhatsApp to drive you back for a good price. The pool and decoration of the place were nice too. The hotel cat is so cute and the staff is taking care of him 😊
The rooms were large, modern, spacious and very clean, my room looked out to the pool area surrounded by trees. The breakfast was great, the staff was helpful and the service was amazing. Love free coconut day! Its a short walk to Mirissa main beach 380m. Happy to return and stay here again, it is one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka.

Randiya Sea View is one of the best options in Mirissa. Many pros including:
-Friendly restaurant and desk staff
-Nice looking, comfortable rooms with pool side or balcony (there’s no bad spot)
-Full drink menu
-Prime location to walk right out onto the beach
-Relaxed about pool use and towels (compared to other hotels)
Enjoyable stay with great staff, very close to one of the quieter beaches of Mirissa. A bit out of town but not a long walk and there were plenty of tuk-tuk drivers willing to take us!! There's a great beach bar within a minute's walk of the hotel and the location by Coconut Tree Hill is pretty picturesque.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the beachfront area of the hotel is beautiful! The bed was also very comfortable and the view from the room at this price point was excellent. The location is good, however we did have to take a tuk tuk every time we wanted to go somewhere in Mirissa.

It's a simple, nice place to stay in Mirissa. The breakfast was nice, and the shower had hot water, which is apparently a rarity in Southern Sri Lanka. But the best thing about the hotel is the location - just 100 meters from Mirissa Beach!
The laundry service was fast, and price was correct. The beach is very close. The hotel was amazing with great pool and the room was super nice with AC .They were flexible with check in and gave us some juices when we arrived welcoming.

This great little hotel is in a fabulous location, close to the beach, and all that Mirissa has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay, made extra special by the warm, welcoming and very hard working team.
The family who run this are lovely and welcoming. Great location just away from the busyness of beachy Mirissa. Lovely garden (which also means mosquitoes) but well prepared rooms with mosquito nets!
This property was close to the beach and the Main Street in Mirissa! I liked that I had the choice between Sri Lankan and American breakfast, and both were good! Communicative and helpful staff!
