We spent 3 nights at Moksha and I have to say it truly exceeded all our expectations. The rooms were super comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. The chef team (Sampath, Thank, Manila and Sumudu) were amazing, we told them one time about a something we ate in the market while in Colombo and they made us that dessert for dinner that same day. That's how far and beyond they went for us and every day since they would make us special treats not even on the menu.
We did so many activities as well so it wasn't just that the hotel was wonderful but there was so much to do around the area. We went zip lining, canyoning, white water rafting and waterfall abseiling and it was all arranged by the hotel with a very well trained team.
I can't recommend this hotel enough to anyone who's looking to just relax or for adventure or a bit of both.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

There is a new hydroelectric plant being built. When that is built there will probably be no more rafting... get there before it’s over.

When you say Kitulgala, first thing will come to your mind...
When you say Kitulgala, first thing will come to your mind is white Water rafting and if you like adventurous holidays, this is the place to visit when you are in Sri Lanka. Except for white water rafting, the place is full of Rivers and waterfalls and you can have a very calm and enjoyable moment with the beauty of the nature. Must visit place if you are nature lover and love to have some adventurous holiday. For one of the best life time experience, try Gallene Galle for at least one night...

A lovely area.
A lovely area. Spoiled for choice of places to stay and for adventurous activities. Most places are fairly rustic in nature but comfortable. The drive from the Colombo airport to the area takes 2 1/2 to 3 hrs, a long time for a relatively short distance (roads very windy and lots of buses, lorries and tuk-tuks which slow the pace down).

Kitulgala is very well known destination among foreigners...
Kitulgala is very well known destination among foreigners and locals alike for its rapids, and white water rafting. The Kelani river flows through the area on shallow, rocky surface creating excellent venue for adventure sports. There are many service providers in the area operating white water rafting, canyoning, and many other water based adventure sports. Kitulgala is surrounded by virgin rain forests that adds to serene and relaxing environment untroubled by city traffic or pollutants. There are many places to look around, including nature walks in to forested villages, Belilena (ancient cave) and several water falls.
The host was very supportive. Provided delicious meals with a wide variety. There are few natural pools nearby with easy and private access. The location has a nice view with a quiet surrounding. It's conveniently situated just 5 to 10 minutes away from Kitulgala, allowing easy access to all the adventurous activities this area has to offer. If you are a person who would love a homely stay by being closer to nature, this would be an ideal stay.
The forest setting is absolutely amazing. The journey along the road itself is a once in a lifetime experience! It is pretty remote but if you are prepared it is well worth the effort. There are self catering facilities so we cooked for ourselves but the hotel will get food delivered in for you with a bit of notice if you prefer. The staff were very helpful - they helped us organise a fab rafting trip and a taxi to our next destination.
The views, the natural water pool and the terrace was magical! This place is very tranquil with the most beautiful views of the jungle and mountains. We were the only guests when we arrived and the stuff took a lot of care of us. They even helped us to drive our tuk tuk down because the road to the hotel is very steep and bumpy.
The staff were a natural extension of the lovely Sri Lankan people, lead by Dulana, who is an exceptional man. Polite, well articulated, and unfadingly helpful and accommodating. The property reflects this, and much more, smack in the middle of the jungle, with all the civility of a modern, clean, comfortable accommodation.
Staff was super friendly and approachable. I also liked their food which felt a lot cleaner than other foods we had in Sri Lanka. Like less oily etc. also absolutely loved having the option to go into the fresh river pond where you can see clear water and tiny fish. It was really cool and refreshing.
Lovely property. Our group arrived at odd times in the night and the staff were so helpful getting everyone in. No need to book activities in advance, there are staff on site that will take you rafting upon request. The hotel has all of the equipment. Dinners were lovely!
I love the location so much. Because this resort is at the middle of a Jungle.its only 15min Drive from Famous tourist destination Kitulgala. It has got so many nice natural pools in bank of the girankitta stream. Its clam and quiet with the sound of native birds.
A new hotel, runned by a family who is very helpfull. Rooms are good and there is a shared balcony with splendid views, You can walk freely around Bibili Oya, the river next to the hotel .
Food is at average level.
Probably one of the very few decent hotels in the area, which we picked because our rafting activity started early next day.
Breakfast was good and served on time
Room was 2-story and spacious
the owners were really helpful and organized another hotel for the same price because a landslide was blocking the road to our hotel. also he’s helpful with everything you need in Kitulgala!
just wonderful.
a luxury hotel in the middle of the jungle, good food and service.
they also offer a beautiful waterfall tour with an excellent guide called Samire.
An excellent experience.
