Staff were very professional and friendly. Location was great just a short walk up a hill from the main strip in a quiet area. Also very close to most of the attractions in the area which is helpful if you want to reduce $$ on transport. The property were also very accomodating with our dates of stay given some unexpected circumstances.

Taxi drivers charge a hefty amount for short distances (600 rupees for one kilometer)
Many hoteliers are reluctant to take dinner orders in-house because of the high price of food items in the city
Not sure whether this issue is a result of enforcing tourist prices, inflation, or an issue because we searched in the wrong places...
Despite this everything else was absolutely charming and we enjoyed it a lot.

Ella has the most spectacular location, really gorgeous.
Ella has the most spectacular location, really gorgeous. The train trip was wonderful. The waterfalls all around are lovely. The stores in town were fun.
But we were surprised by how many tourists there were, how crowded and overdeveloped. The giant outdoor screens, the competing loud music, the catering to western travelers made it less fun than other areas of Sri Lanka.

Nice little town, you can do some nice outdoor activity such as trekking to little Adam’s pick and zip line, see the waterfall, the famous nine arch bridge, enjoy some good meals in one of the restaurants on the main road.
Rice&curry at the Chill cafè is very good, the dream cafe has an international cuisine so I had a chicken wrap also really good, instead at The Barn I had a really good overnight oat breakfast.
You can also take a cooking class some restaurants offer this activity three times a day 11am, 4pm and 7pm or you can also enjoy a yoga class usually you don’t need to book classes are at 8 am or 4 pm.
In my opinion one night and a full day is enough to visit the main things.

This is such a nice town, good and plenty of food options. Lots of bars and the surrounding is very beautiful. You get spoiled here with waterfalls, hikes and so much greenery.
Loved arriving here with the train, meeting other travellers and eating plenty of delicious food :)
Will come back soon, next time for longer because there is so much more to see.
The place is amazing! Feels like a 5-star hotel but with love approach.
The host pays attention to the small details: the towels are soft and fresh, there are roses in different places as welcoming, arrival drinks with a cake.
I felt in love with the place. The terrace is also so nice. I could observe the squirrels and some special Sri Lanka bird.
The furniture is modern and stylish. It is very near to the center and bus station.

The location right inside a tea plantation, and Ella Rock view from the bedroom are priceless. You can have access to Little Adam’s Peak, the Flying Swing, and the Zip Line within minutes right from the hotel, which made us save a lot of time and benefit from a discount on activities. Indika was an excellent host and his accomodation is in a quiet secluded location. There so much to do around here being close to Stage 15 of the Pekoe Trail, close to tea tours of Amba Tea Plantation and so many other interesting walks. It is not a fancy boutique hotel. But it is exactly right for those wanting to feel more closely connected with the real Sri Lanka.

Best view in Ella, hotel is literally on top of the hill. Really nice rooftop with a pool, room was comfortable and they had free water and toiletries. Breakfast was nice and the staff was very accomodating because they let us have early breakfast the day we were leaving. Staff would also bring us up and down the hill in their shuttle which was very convenient.

The view from the hotel was beautiful, breakfast was good and with a view to the nine arch bridge. It is on top of a hill, away from Ella center. So you need to walk a bit or use a scooter or tuktuk to get there. The rooms were nice and you can order food from the restaurant.

It is a really nice place to stay in Ella. We wanted some luxury after a bit of travelling and definitely received that at this hotel. The swimming pool is really nice and the staff is also super friendly and willing to help!
