The location was great and the staff was very friendly, however we still decided to check out one day before because the hotel looks good just on the pictures.

ibis Vientiane Nam Phu is the most value for money hotel in the city. Its location is perfect walking distance to all the happening areas and the wonderful Nam Phu park.
But the best thing about the property is its staff and hospitality. Every day they have been kind and helpful and super welcoming. The craziest thing happened to me today, so I lost my wallet outside of the hotel but nearby, and then one of the hotel staff - Seua came with me to the police station and helped me look for it all over the place. And best part is the wallet was found and returned to me because of keeping my hotel key card within. Along with Seua, I want to shout out the entire staff: Laty, Ms. Pat, Noy, Bee, Toumor, Mor, and everyone else. Team ibis is genuinely the best and I highly recommend everyone to stay here for the best experience.

Bed was incredibly comfortable and HUGE! Room was styled very nicely, had all the necessary accessories and extras. Air con was great which is important when it’s 38 degrees outside! Food in the restaurant, both downstairs and on the roof terrace was fantastic with big portions. Staff were great, very friendly and efficient. Hotel location was good, easy and fast to reach from the airport, view of the river across to Thailand, nice and quiet with a short walk into the centre of town.

A surprisingly calm city with little traffic noise and polite and respectful drivers - no dodging and weaving through traffic, no horns blaring so we had a really relaxing, calm experience in Vientiane. There is lots to do and see.

Vientiane is starting out on its journey to become a popular tourist area - facilities are improving and what is there now works well. Modern hotels are in process of being built and transport infrastructure is developing - the China/Laos hi
gh-speed railway is certainly opening up this country.
Currently, mass tourism has not yet arrived (unlike many other places, where you seem to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with half the world's population).
If you want to go, go soon (but not in the wet season - wet is really wet!) - we can see that in a few year's time this lovely country could be overwhelmed with the evils of mass tourism, with hundreds of coaches queuing daily to get to the ancient cultural sites!

Title: Vientiane: A City of Charm and Culinary Delights
Review:
Vientiane, the heart of Laos, is a city that radiates charm and hospitality. During my visit, I was constantly struck by the friendliness of the locals, who added warmth to every encounter. The city's culinary scene was a delightful surprise; each meal, whether at a humble street stall or a cozy restaurant, was a delicious exploration of Laotian flavors. While Vientiane may not top the list for a single-visit itinerary in Laos, it's undeniably worth spending a few days in. The city offers a unique blend of tranquility and cultural richness, making it a pleasant and memorable part of any Laotian adventure.

Kinda sleepy, and not as many Day Tours and things to do as Luang Prabang or other nearby Asian cities. The only tour I did was because I saw a sign on a tree offering a three-site half day thing for just $10USD. His name is Tungchai and I recommend his tour ... Find him here ... https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067140248570 ... After that, I decided on a flash one-night visit to Vang Vieng / Nam Ngum Lake. The bullet train is FANTASTIC and that area up there is beautiful!

I booked this Hotel for married friends who came for 3 nights. The room was excellent as was the price. I gave an outstanding review. Yesterday I sent another friend there as it was so good. At check in they tried to put him in a small, smelly room where nothing (TV, safe etc) were working. He was forced to go to Reception and tell them it wasn't good enough. He was then put into the room he booked. This is very disappointing and has me doubting my original review. It's a shame that things like this happen in this country regularly. If you get the room you booked, this Hotel is excellent. Best of Luck.
I paid for 5 days on arrival only to find the hotel is a dump. TV doesn't work, kettle broken, room in poor state of repair. I decided I could not stay under these conditions and I checked out after the first night. They flatly refused to refund my payment of five days. I tried to call the tourist police but the number advertised did not work. It was a lousy experience on my first day in Laos. The hotel owes me $52 AUD. I think they hotel rating needs to reflect the condition of the hotel. These guys are thieves.
We stayed here 2 times over the course of 1 week - 2 nights upon arrival to Laos and 1 night upon departure. It's a brand new hotel and the facilities are excellent. The front desk is hospitable but speak limited English which is common across Laos so not a major issue. The bar and restaurants are both top notch as is the spa. On our second stay the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed!
The view from the room is good. I stayed in a room with a riverside view, and it had a wonderful view of the Mekong River and the town on the opposite bank in Thailand. The hotel is new, and everything was clean. The breakfast had a wide variety and was good. I stayed at several hotels in Laos, but this one was the best. (However, it was also the most expensive hotel.)
Really nice stay in the capital of Laos. large, bright room with a window. Kettle and fridge available, as well as a shared kitchen in the corridor. Very quiet, you can relax peacefully. Located close to the main attractions, so you can explore the city on foot. I recommend it for every traveler.
very strong Wi-Fi!! I had important work video calls and can confirm it’s great for remote work here. 70+ mbps. the room had a nice desk, comfortable bed. good location but breakfast was especially good! a good spread of Laotian and western food and food from Laos is soooo good.
Everything. The room are very Clean and quiet. The common area/lounge is charming and a great place to be social. Free water dispenser and kitchen facilites. The staff so friendly and helpful. This will be the only plays I stay when I go to laos for embassy visits ongoing
The room and the beds were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and professional
The breakfast provided was very good, we arrived at the hotel fairly late and ended having dinner at the restaurant and it turned out to be one of our favorite meals in Laos
The room is so cozy and the public area is relaxing. Price here is also affordable for solo travelers to have private space. Furthermore, the receptionist, May, is so helpful and introducing a lot of things about Laos. So nice to have the experience to stay here!
Great service and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of western and Laos food. I would highly recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a chic hotel in a great location without breaking the bank.
Cute hotel, on the edge of the city center of the river, close to small street restaurants at night.
Super helpful staff, helped us plan to avoid a rainy trip.
Small but functional family room with good bathroom. Nice little pool.
Everything, cleanest hostel of my 12 days in Laos.
The bed comes with clean linens and you have privacy with the curtains.
The hostel feels safe and the staff is great.
They even helped me to book a taxi for an early flight.
Beautiful Hotel, the staff was very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The food at the hotel was very delicious. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Laos.
The hotel is in a very good position, walking distance to the monuments and the city center. The rooms are amazing, spacious and very bright. The swimming pool on the roof gives you an amazing view of the city.
the staff were so lovely and attentive in laos all of the people have been so lovely and kind but moonlight champa went above and beyond. their free bikes on sight and great location made it a great stay
Very nice hotel so clean rooms comfortable bed. The room has Nice view to see around Vientiane city . Friendly staff, good location, Would stay here again . Highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
