Kinda sleepy, and not as many Day Tours and things to do as Luang Prabang or other nearby Asian cities. The only tour I did was because I saw a sign on a tree offering a three-site half day thing for just $10USD. His name is Tungchai and I recommend his tour ... Find him here ... https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067140248570 ... After that, I decided on a flash one-night visit to Vang Vieng / Nam Ngum Lake. The bullet train is FANTASTIC and that area up there is beautiful!

I booked this Hotel for married friends who came for 3 nights. The room was excellent as was the price. I gave an outstanding review. Yesterday I sent another friend there as it was so good. At check in they tried to put him in a small, smelly room where nothing (TV, safe etc) were working. He was forced to go to Reception and tell them it wasn't good enough. He was then put into the room he booked. This is very disappointing and has me doubting my original review. It's a shame that things like this happen in this country regularly. If you get the room you booked, this Hotel is excellent. Best of Luck.

Beautiful city, capital of Laos.
Beautiful city, capital of Laos. The city is spread out but still very walkable or by tuk tuk with many things to see and eat. The night market is nearby the river with some sort of kiddie amusement park. There seems to be a mix of old and modern entertainment to explore but I didn't do much (busy working). Lots of food stalls, dining options. Haven't had one bad meal but some are better than others for sure. The night food market near D Mart is superb for food finds.
A beautiful oasis away from bustle and noise, Green Park Boutique Hotel was the perfect place to “come home” to after a days’ work. The staff were warm, friendly and obliging, the breakfasts were freshly cooked and delicious, the arrangement of the rooms around the pool and greenery was peaceful and serene. As a long-staying guest (21 days), I was grateful to be a short walk away from Parkson’s Mall with its well-stocked supermarket. There’s nowhere else I’d stay in Vientiane.
I have stayed in the Crowne Plaza twice before and on both ocassions my experience was wonderful. This time was no exception. I chose the hotel because I knew the facilities were excellent e.g. the infinity swimming pool , the bedrooms, the catering.
The location is perfect.
The staff can't do enough to help you as a customer.
I didn't include catering in my stay this time, but I know from my previous stays the meals are exceptional.
Spacious room and super quiet at night (was a little worried about the noise being roadside but the thick walls blocked any of that out, I never heard a peep). Breakfast was always delicious too and the front desk always helpful. Of all the places I stayed in Vientiane, this place had the fastest and most reliable wifi (even better than some of the more expensive hotels I stayed at)
Very friendly and young staff! I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is superb and walking distance to many great spots for sightseeing and eating. It is also right next to the river. They offer private tours/round-trip transportation to Vientiane's tourist spots. I took the RT transportation to Buddha Park. It was a better price than taking a LOCA (Laos version of Uber).
Stayed here for our last night in Laos, and was fantastic. Right near the river and all the restaurants along the river. A bit further out but still close to everything. New hotel so it is very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vientiane. It has a small pool and breakfast is cooked fresh off menu.
I like how we are greeted and how clean the hotel is. We are staying in the Executive Suite its really nice! Quiet and peaceful. The hotel manager made everything possible from a upgrade from the king deluxe. I will always reccomended this hotel for all my family and friends from the USA. Best hotel experience! 5 stars!!!

Beautiful hotel and facilities. Just gorgeous inside and very very comfortable. Great reception service and amazing morning breakfast . Lovely 4th floor bar with a professional and great bartender, Melody.
Definitely recommend staying here for a wonderful and nice experience in Vientiane. Location is central and easy access to everywhere.

Well trained, really helpful staff. They booked our overnight train trip to Bangkok and WhatsApp the tickets to us when they were issued a few days later, just as promised. Accommodation in Laos can be a bit basic and uncomfortable, so the Ibis was a welcome break - highly recommended.
Fantastic location. Too good a value to be true. Great atmosphere, not pretentious yet modern and functional, encased in a pseudo hybrid collonial building typical in the main population centres of Laos. Clean. And they have cats! Well behaved cats.
Definitely the nicest/most luxurious hostel i’ve been to in Laos. Everything looks quite fancy compared to other hostels in SEA. Beds are very nice. Breakfast is amazing too. Booked the minivan to Vang Vieng through them for a very good price!
This, by far, probably was one of the cleanest hotels I've been stayed in. The bathroom and tiling were absolutely stunning and better than a 5 star hotel. The bed was as soft as a baby's bottom. Truly this hotel is beyond your expectations.

I got biggest room. Been traveling to laos alot . 2 to 3 times a year , 5 years now. I can honestly say I like this hotel. Location , new and clean , big balcony , and the price is good.
Staff were super polite and helpful, room was nice and included water, bed a little hard for me (but I found all Laos hotels had hard mattresses so I think it is a preference there).
The best hotel in Vientiane, clean and good price, the staffs are really friendly. Rooms are comfortable with nice riverview.
