The beach and area were good. It was disappointing that we had to pay extra for beach chairs and umbrella, and there were also fees to use their facilities, such as: gym, tennis court, public bath, etc.
the buffet was okay, we only had an option for one restaurant, the other was closed, so we were limited on where we could eat at the resort.
Also, if u want to watch the sunset by the bar, u had to pay for a drink.
The resort was old, and some areas were much needed of a renovation

Onna is located approximately half way between the northern tip and Naha in the south. It is a smaller town and has bus routes through it. It has quite a few restaurants and some are quite expensive but apparently worth it, we recommend the Tacorice restaurant, but note: parking is further down behind a building! They have nice meals and there is a party table at the rear which would be great for large groups so book perhaps. Price is great too! A car is preferable so can access the conbinis in the area with more ease. Its definitely not Tokyo in that regard but we were there because of that - and had a car!

For those who love quiet time in nature Onna is a beautiful place away from the buzz! Many beaches in white sand with beautiful aqua ocean. Taxi are convenient using app for those who don't drive.
The only thing is vegetarians will find meal options limited on Okinawa and away from the city. Most restaurants offer meat & seafood.

Not much parking space on the road in Onna area.
Not much parking space on the road in Onna area. Suggest pre-plan your destination before start to drive. If necessary to search or looking for the place in the middle of your driving, best way is to go to convenience store's parking lot first as most of the road at there not allow you to park or stop.
The Halekulani is perfect in every way! From the moment we arrived until the time we left we were taken care of by the excellent staff. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, the service is top notch and the breakfast buffet in the morning has a wonderful variety and is delicious. We asked for a couple recommendations for dinner off the property and they were spot on, especially the Okinawan dinner! We cannot say enough good things about this special property other than a must stay of you are visiting.
Location was perfect to enjoy various beaches and to explore north and south of Onna (car is however a must in Okinawa). Very big room for Japan standards and lovely balcony with sea view. The “private beach” in front of the hotel is lush, it’s a shame they don’t rent shades and lounges to enjoy it best. Cleaning was spotless and overall a nice cosy feeling because the hotel is on the small side (we hate high rise gigantic hotels). Toiletries for free at reception.
Nana and Shiro are exceptiinal hosts who make sure that their guests are taken care of during their stay. My room was clean and comfortable and the Okinawa cookies I found each day for tea were such a treat! I did not expect the lovely breakfast that was available each morning but I definitely appreciated it and chatting with Shiro over excellent coffee. The location was perfect. Beach access at the Moon Beach Resort was an added bonus.
The hotel is front of the beach, just need to walk couple of minutes to reach. The facilities very nice, although take into account that if you go in rainy season, to reach some parts you might need to go under the rain.
They provide umbrellas and has parking.
Amazing view and nice staff.
The western breakfast restaurant has sea view and a terrace where you can have your meal.
Room was massive a very comfortable.
Overall a very comfortable stay. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast (nice selection without being overwhelming, and enjoyed the taco rice and Okinawan soba, and espresso), and large comfortable rooms. Rooms were nicely modernized and updated as well. Nice view and off the main busy areas to enjoy some peace and quiet. Appreciated the laundry facilities and larger-sized refrigerators.
This is the most beautiful place to stay in Okinawa. We loved every minute of it. The hotel was quite and set in a beautiful beach resort. The rooms were lovely and clean and the views were amazing. The staff were great and nothing was a problem. We will definitely be staying there next time we go to Okinawa.
The room was clean, comfortable, quiet.
It was a good value for money.
I was well located, not far by foot to some restaurants or konbini. Located in an area with nice beaches around.
The parking just in front of the room was convenient.
I think I will come back to this hotel next time I go to Okinawa.
The staff have been most wonderful and helpful.
The resort is set in a beautiful environment.
The meals are great, be it the different breakfast options and the room service.
Love the white and cyan/blue theme of the hotel and hotel rooms.
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel and the surrounding area is quite comfortable with shops, restaurants and other dining places. The room was very comfy and big, the staff were super friendly and welcoming.
Good to stay upto 8 pax. Spacious and all you need is in the villa.can buy groceries and cook at the villa too. Good location to stay to explore central Okinawa.
