The access to the Daiichi Takimotokan baths across the street until late at night and early in the morning was amazing, the highlight of my trip to Hokkaido.
Location is also perfect for experiencing the Jigoku-matsuri and the Jigoku-dani itself.
The hotel itself is easy to use and clean. Check in is by machine but staff were there to answer any questions.

Noboribetsu is a small tourist oriented town surrounded by lush mountains and walking distance away from the source of hot spring water that brings to you the Japanese Onsen experience. Mind the occasional smell of sulfur.
Getting there via train and bus is not difficult but can be crowded during peak travel seasons. Food quality was always excellent and the hotel’s buffet covered local and western appetites. Noboribetsu Date Historic Village is about 14 minutes away and is worth visiting. A fun learning experience for the whole family.

Shikotu Toya National Park is wonderful, so much to see and explore. The onsen at the Grand hotel were amazing, very relaxing. I would have liked to visit the Ainu museum at Shiroai, but we didn't have time. The Cultural exchange centre near Noboribetsu Station was very interesting though, and they had excellent ice creams.

The hot baths, buffet breakfast with many local delicacies and location, being just beside the Hell Valley is worth experiencing. However, pricing may be a bit steep for the size of the room we stayed.

If the weather is good, I would recommend going up the Observatory where one could view the entire Lake Toya.
Not to be missed is the Jigokudani - Hell Valley and must try the onsen there. Very tourist friendly (surprisingly big towels were provided).
There was a nice cafe near Lake Toya which serves very good pizza.
Had a blast during our stay. Hotel location was easy to navigate as it is close to the bus station. Room was neat and spacious for four people. View was nice and pleasant to look at upon waking up. Futon beds were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was terrific and satisfying. Onsen especially the outdoor ones was a good experience.
location: can take bus at Noboribetsu station then drop outside the hotel.
room style: Japanese tatami style room is comfy and clean.
onsen: they provide various types of hot spring water, like sulphuric, sodium, salt etc.
