It's an amazing hotel sited on top of a hill overlooking on one side Lake Toya and on the, a bay being part of Sea of Japan and one has a 360° view of the entire valley lake and mountains including of Mt Yotei in the distance. Its also a beautiful n lavishly appointed hotel and one of its many claims to fame is being the site of a G8 Summit hotel in 2008. It has many lovely restaurants, a great onsen plus a nice golf course to boot. Locals regard this hotel as Hokkaido's most prestigious hotel, and one can fully understand once you stay there. The staff are so professional and courteous fm the doorman to everyone you come into contact as they all seem so conscious they have a very high reputation to maintain as The Top hotel in the region. A Must Return to hotel.

Location. It is just located by lakeside which offers the best view from most areas.
Both buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent. We really enjoyed our delicious meals with the breathtaking lakeview.
Most staff are friendly. except one young man at counter was unfriendly when we just arrived.
Naka is one of the most helpful staff who looked after us very well. He even helped us to booking seats for free hotel bus to Sapporo.
Anyway, we really love this hotel which gave us the best experience in our 3 weeks Japan trip.

Toya was so beautiful.
Toya was so beautiful. The best kind of countryside you can ask for. We went to the toya hill farm which was so good for people watching. Oh but please drive, the public transport was so frustrating. We had to walk 24mins to the next busstop and the buses take so long to come

Didn’t like it in late February.
Didn’t like it in late February. The only thing to do is go to the onsen, some of the hotels will grant you access for a small fee if you’re not staying there.
There is a boat tour (looks like a princess castle, sort of weird), pricey and so so boring, they don’t even go all around the lake and it doesn’t stop for you to step on the islands.
Overall, very sad town in February.

Taking a slow stroll along the lakeside with cooling breeze blowing towards you is refreshing and makes you feel so free.
A must visit to Mount Usu taking the cable car and walking along the Ropeway is scenic.
A short drive of about 10 minutes from Lake Toya there is a Little Farm that serves very good ice cream, coffee and pizza. Children loves the goats in this farm land.

Beautiful and scenic but you are not allowed to swim in the lake because it is a Unesco site. I was unable to Google this info so I'm sharing it here. It is 90 degrees here today so that sucks. They don't mind you dipping your feet but there are no swimming beaches. You can get wet if you are boating or on SUPboard. I probably would’ve toured another part of the country if I knew I couldn’t swim in the lake in the middle of an extremely hot summer. the south of like Toya is filled with Asian tourists. We enjoyed the quiet north side.

Exceptional room to wake up in every morning, with a full view of Lake Toya. Soaking in the hot bath in the room and enjoying the fireworks nightly is indeed a pleasure. Service staff are helpful and polite, and the meals are sumptuous. Indeed a memorable experience.
The owner was waiting for us at the exact time we told him we'll arrive. We got sweets and discount tickets to onsen. I was amazed by that onsen hotel, Infinity rooftop pool, it was fantastic. We had a car, the lake and shops are in a 3 min drive. The hotel is quite old, but everything was good. Clean bed sheets, warm, bright, no smoke smell in the room, silent at night. We were travelling with a 1 year-old toddler, it was safe for her too. There is a loft in the room, we did not use it.
Stayed four nights with dinner and breakfast. The setting is fantastic, right on the lake. Floor to ceiling windows in the room and throughout the hotel. Wonderful large bath, including nice outdoor one on the roof. Really nice hotel onsen. Fireworks every night right in front of the hotel. Food was very good. Even though a buffet, several dishes were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lake Toya is a wonderful place to get away and relax. Will definitely return!
Amazing hotel, super stylish. Huge rooms, all with own rotenburo on the balcony and lake view,too.. In addition a fantastic onsen & rotenburo for all guests. Tattoo friendly, too 😀
Staff was super nice plus they have free shuttle service from/ to JR station. Also they shuttle guests to the fireworks section in Toyako Onsen.
The food was exceptional.
We enjoyed every minute in this hotel.
Lake Toya view from our room was spectacular especially in the morning. There was more than enough space in our room although the room was quite old. Dinner was wonderful with wide variety of selections and they were all delicious. Breakfast was also superb. Nonetheless, Onsen was very relaxing, bathing and taking up the view of Lake Toya at the same time were worth the visit.
The hotel had a beautiful view of Lake Toya. The room was really nice and large. Public bath was amazing and had many pools. There is a open air onsen which looks over the lake. At sunrise you get such amazing views. We had the breakfast and dinner buffet it had a large range of choices to eat. The staff were super helpful and assisted all our needs.
Very nice hotel. Amazing onsen with spacious outdoor section where you can sit or lay with a view of the gorgeous lake and mountains. The onsen part was amazing and we want to come back again for longer period.
Breakfast was good, excellent food and good choice, but having dish names in English would have helped (there were none).
the location was very convenient! I drove, and there was a good amount of parking spaces. It was also very easy to walk to most of the restaurants, onsens, and lake-side attractions. The rooms and bedding were clean and cozy. The staff were very helpful in pointing out places to go and things to do.
Everything! Spacious and clean room. The view overlooking Lake Toya was just perfect! The room was so comfortable. Definitely one of the highlights of our hokkaido trip! It’s around 15 mins drive to the town area but we loved the quiet and relaxing surroundings here!
Outdoor Onsen was one of the most amazing and incredible experiences of our lives -- its gorgeous!! We were lucky enough also to use it while it was snowing outside -- a truly delightful experience. And the views from this place are to DIE for. Amazing.
It is within driving distance to the onsen town where the fireworks were. I would love to stay over again for a bit longer next time and to enjoy Lake Toya more on a walk. The house itself meets everything I expected from a beautiful vacation house.
My tatami room had had a fabulous view over Lake Toya. The room was clean and well-appointed. It is not a new hotel but is well maintained You come here for the views and the onsen and on that it delivers nicely.
Room has amazing lake view. Hotel is located just right next to the lake Toya which can view the fireworks at night. Dinner set was yummy with generous portion. There is a small arcade area for kids to play.
Very nice onzen spa and lake view room.
both the public area and room have quite big space,
Nice hotel decoration.
