This is a very special place indeed. The staff are so friendly and helpful with anything you need. The rooms are luxurious and really make you feel like you are staying somewhere special. The food is Michelin quality and I highly recommend you make dinner reservations, it was some of the best food we had in Japan.

I greatly appreciate the very helpful and friendly staff. The room was spacious with a large bed. There was a selection of Asian and European breakfast. The European breakfast was very well prepared and tasty. The beach is just a few meters from the hotel. Unfortunately, we made a spontaneous decision and stayed only one night, but it is definitely worth staying longer.

Hasadera temple is a must see, especially during spring or autumn. In addition we visited Enoshima at dusk. Per end of november they have the whole garden and tower covered with small lights. When the weather allows you can see Mt Fuji in sunset. A hidden gem is Zeniarai Benten shrine. It is a natural spring tucked away between jagged rocks in a little valley. Legend goes that if you wash your money in the spring, it will multiply.

One should check one's room at check-in. Ours was definitely under-equipped: no chairs, no reading light, no handle in bathtub, very limited storage space for clothes, dangerous change in floor level. Otherwise, a very attractive hotel: nice patio and restaurant, beautiful landscaping, etc.

We loved our day in Kamakura!
We loved our day in Kamakura! Our hotel (Kamakura Prince Hotel) overlooked both the sea and Mt Fuji which was incredible. We used the Enoden to get around but mostly walked. We ate lunch by the beach, visited Kotoku-in and even went inside the Buddha (so interesting to see what it looked like inside!), then took a walking trail to Zeniarai Benten shrine which was beautiful. We didn't get to go to Enoshima unfortunately, but had a lovely time aside from that!

Nice area with some tourist attractions - but most of the touristy parts are around Kamakura station. If you go up to see the Buddha and Hase Temple, there are less tourist-style shops despite being the main attractions of the area. The tourist shops around Kamakura itself are nice but the same fare you get in the rest of Japan - cute textile items made in Japan, yukatas, 'instabae' cafes and matsuri-style food.
I would personally say the Great Buddha is somewhat underwhelming, but Hasedera is one of the loveliest temples I've been to in Japan.
It's easy to get between Kamakura and Hase using the Enoshima electric railway, and there are several beaches in the area. We personally went to Yuigahama which seemed like a nice family beach - drinking alcohol isn't allowed - unlike Enoshima beach, which is often full of drunk young people. I am often a young drunk person too, but the types of people at Enoshima beach are likely to get drunk and try to 'nanpa' (pick up) young women. Instead, Yuigahama had many families and young couples and a good security and lifeguard presence.
Along the whole coast of Kamakura and Enoshima, be careful of the birds (specifically crows and black kites) as they may try to steal food. Many crows were rifling through people's, whereas a kite stole an ice cream right out of my hand.

This very charming and picturesque old Capital of Japan is situated between mountains on one side and the beach with Enoshima island on the other side. The old history and culture is present almost everywhere with lots of beautiful buildings, temples and shrines. Ideal for a couple of days sightseeing close to Tokyo and lovely walks along the beach.
Make sure to visit Hasedera Temple, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and Enoshima.
While a little out of the way from the main tourist attractions, it was still within walking distance to shops, the beach, Enoshima Island, and the aquarium. Actually, it was kind of nice to not being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. If you're a little more confident with your Japanese language skills, there are also smaller shops in the area that cater more towards the locals that are very accessible. Huge shoutout to the lady who runs the place too - very friendly and helpful. Made us feel right at home.
The host are so amazing, thoughtful and full of passion in introducing Japanese culture to us. We also enjoy a very decent and yummy local Japanese breakfast cooked by the Samurai cook. Every tiny decoration in the hostel is so unique and with lots of memories there, especially the 500 years old Samurai 's sword. Very convenient location with shops, yummy food . JR station and Edo tram are in minutes walk around . We love all the moments there.
It was such a beautiful property, and an easy walk from the train station to the hotel, and from the hotel to the beach. The staff were very kind, especially as we needed to leave our bags for ~an hour before and after a checkout. My kiddo loved the bath room experience, especially in the evening before bed. My only complaint was that we could only stay one night because of our flight home. I hope to stay here again next time I'm in Kamakura!
This was one of our favourite stays in all our visits to Japan. Kamakura is such a great base and there’s so much to do. Beautiful hotel. The rooms were comfy and all amenities (incl extra pillows) were available. Staff were friendly and always helpful. Bed was big by Japanese standards - comfy too. Short 5 minute walk from Kamakura station and buses, as well as local restaurants and convenience stores. Short 12 minute walk to the beach.
The location is superb. The hotel is a few minutes down a cute road on the quiet side of Kamakura station. There are many independent restaurants and shops down this road and you can avoid the crowds. Breakfast was very nice. The hotel is new and decorated in the contemporary Japanese style and very pretty. Staff were very helpful and located items my daughter forgot with no fuss. I found the staff to be very professional and kind.
The location of the hotel was superb, just 2mins walk from the JR Kamakura Station. I arrived on a rainy day, the short distance really makes the difference. The room size I booked was great as well, there are 3 sections, the entrance with toilet and bath, bed section & living section. The hotel also surrounded by local amenities and convenient stores. I definitely will choose this hotel should I revisit Kamakura.
The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to provide help to us! The location is close to Ofuna station, very convenient with shops and restaurants around. The rooms wasn’t huge but they are average size in Japan, and the bedding was comfortable. Would definitely love to stay again in the future.
Everything, the staff are lovely and the place is modern and spotless. A beautiful little room, close to Ofuna Station. The breakfast buffet is glorious, I tried it out first abd loved it so much I bought another breakfast the day after. All foreigners should try Japanese breakfast!
The location is very good, near to JR station and main shopping district. The room is spacious as compared to the standard japan hotel and it is very clean. Staffs are very friendly and approachable. Will definitely stay here again when back in Kamakura.
we had a true Japanese experience, with Japanese living traditions and even the most exquisite Japanese breakfast with a full explanation of what to eat first and why, and in what sequence and how the various courses should be eaten.
The staff are so friendly. They were playing Japanese poker after their duty ended and I taught them how to play Texas hold'em. Quickly Sora took all my chips! Impressive.
Otherwise the staff were so kind, I will miss them.
Calm quiet hotel in a handy location with seaviews. A lovely change of pace during a busy holiday in Japan
Large bathroom with separate shower and bath.
Room was clean, and spacious .
.
Kimie is a fantastic host, very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is just 20minutes by walk from the Railstation. The view on the river was so nice. Typical japanese breakfast !
1.Close to the station, convenient store.Quiet at night
2.Cute staff , strong wifi, cleanliness is good
3.Cosy living room with some local guide book , yet it’s written in Japanese
the beds were so comfy and the air conditioner was industrial strength. Also eating a delicious Japanese style breakfast while enjoying a beach view will be a great summer memory!
It is not as clean or convenient as a hotel, but I was able to stay in Kamakura at a relatively reasonable price. The breakfast was good for a Japanese home-style meal.
Very nice loation, close to very good sea-food restaurant and Koshigoe station. Totally Japanese style accomodation and we can enjoy the Futon-bed with cozy room.
