In Hotel Monika the people is warm. I was impressed with the gourmet food, different every day and delicious. On the local food day even local live music accompanied dinner. The food was so perfect that every flavor could be tasted, with no overpowering, it was like a feast in your mouth. The presentation was impecable, and they even set the table with white gloves. You are given the right amount of time to enjoy every plate and for a fixed affordable price. Best pork and best gnocchi I have ever had.
No need to try other restaurant in the area.
Enjoyed meeting the owner who was present every day throughout the hotel.

The food was very good and the staff were helpful to my family. My accommodations were in the Wassermann, which is a newer building whose rooms are more upscale than those in the original Strobl. My daughter and son-in-law were in the Strobl.

Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails.
A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles.
Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early.
We were there during early July. Low season and ski season are probably different in interesting ways.

Its ok if you just need a place to crash in between a long trip... But nothing more.
The hotel is literally a parking lot on steroids. But still, a freaking parking lot for caravans. The food was really bad and worst the waiters. If you book the room with the dinner included you just lost yourself 35bucks.
Over all the spa was good enough. Some of the treatments were closed due to issues with the corona virus. But in general well designed and relaxing. Of course there were little or no people because of the virus fear. which make it all better for us as we had the pool for ourself.

We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us. To get to the highest peaks requires some stamina and some technique (via feratta). The flowers in July are superb. There are many mountain biking routes in the area but we didn’t partake.

Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction.
Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction. Accommodations and great restaurants are abundant and so many trails. A quick trip to Austria is just an hour or two away. True, the locals are not as warm and fuzzy as those effusive Italians we met in Pisa, Florence, Arezzo, or Piesa de Preciano (5 new FB friends!!!!) but you just can't beat the Dolomiti for sheer beauty! And it's COOLER.
The hotel has a fairytale welcoming staff eversince a guest opens the front door. We were amazed by the waiters, recepsionist who took a great care of us, including our two children. The food is outstanding, I believe that the hotel should be awarded with Michelin stars for the dinner it serves. It is modern, yet kept the authenticity of the building. The room was spacious, spa was nice and the dinning area was lovely. We loved everything about this hotel.
The hotel appeared to be recently renovated. The room was really practical and had an amazing wooden chalet feel. It was so cozy, the view was amazing and the location of the guest house was extremely practical. We loved everything and we really want to go back next year. The owners are a lovely family, you could also get some fresh produce from their organic farm at the hotel (fresh eggs, flour, jams, fermented beet preserves etc).
We enjoyed the hotel very much, the view from the room is incredible, the design is modern and comfortable, very rich breakfast, nice dinner (which we took in some of the nights), the hot tub on the roof is incredible especially when it rains. The stuff was very nice and helpful especially with our special diet needs like gluten free
We had the best 3 nights at Hotel Monika from the moment we arrived we were looked after by the friendly staff! The host Alexander was v present throughout and made everyone feel v welcome. I could not recommend this place more. Not to mention the spa facilities 10/10!!perfect place to relax after a long hike.
Spacious and clean rooms. The breakfast was very nice. The selection is not overwhelmingly big but the quality of the food that is provided is really great. Also, there are variations every day. The location of the hotel is also very good as a public bus can take you to every ski lift in the area.
AMAZING HOTEL! We were genuinely surprised and enjoyed our whole stay. It’s in a great location and has beautiful views all around. The staff is very nice and showed us all of the great amenities available between the Suites and the attached hotel. The rooms are spacious and very clean.
Front Desk Staff service was excellent. Excellent Dinner- must make reservations if you want to eat dinner at the hotel. Prices was very good for the area. Stay was very nice. Hope to return, next time we will request a room facing the mountains and not the street.
The hotel pleasantly surprised us. We parked the car in the garage for the whole stay. One day we took a little trip to the lake with a free bus that the hotel provides. The food was great. The room was very clean, and the washing toilet was certainly a nice surprise;)
Fantastic hotel in an excellent location. Staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We came across it by chance and will definitely return! The views from our room were lovely and there is easy access to numerous trails, close to 3 Zinnen and the Pragser Wildsee.
The location is superb, the last hotel before the pure nature and the mountins. It also have a very good spa nad pool area. Everything - especially the grass is very well maintained and decorated. Staff OK and the food and service as well.
