Salò is a nice, walkable town, close to other towns on Lake Garda. It’s a stop for several ferries, so you can visit other towns on the lake without driving. The lungolago is beautiful. You can walk the entire length of the golf of Salò.

Salo is a lovely town on the shore of Lake Garda, from which there is an excellent ferry service allowing access to most towns around the lake while an occasional service takes visitors to the private but beautiful Isola di Garda. The promenade is extremely pleasant on which well-dressed local people stroll. It is fringed with a range of restaurants to reflect all tastes and pockets. Narrow streets and alleyways and pleasant squares link the promenade to the town itself, which has a wide range of retail opportunities, an excellent museum, cathedral and other attractions that make it an interesting place to while away a day. Many people say that it is quieter than more 'touristy' resorts on the lake, and that suited us well. Of course the views across the lake to the distant show-topped Monte Baldo (accessible by cable car from Malcacene) are stunning, and the mood changes often depending on the weather. A decent sunset illuminates the mountain tops, often wreathed in cloud, in a stunning display of colour. A perfect place.

This property has everything a family could want, it’s on the 3rd floor but there’s a lift available if needed, it’s a stones throw from waterfront with plenty of restaurants to choose, there’s a mini supermarket 5min walk and bus stop is 10 min walk, only downside there’s no air con, would stay again.

Ideal location close to the lake and restaurants. 3 bedroom Apartment was very clean and facilities were in good working conditions. Parking ticket was given for a close parking lot. The only thing to take note is that wifi was not very great and sometimes experienced poor internet connect, but it is not a deal breaker as we did not stay much in during the day. but this is something that can be easily improved.

It’s a very pretty lakeside resort with the most beautiful...

It’s a very pretty lakeside resort with the most beautiful rustic buildings to discover via the narrow cobbled streets . Good selection of shops from designer clothing to tiny authentic coffee shops , deli , souvenirs and a pharmacy . Excellent range of restaurants offering great value and local dishes typical of the area . Very friendly locals . Lots of areas alongside lake to sunbathe albeit on pebbles so take some thick soled diving shoes if you want to have a swim in the lake as you will find these pebbles tricky otherwise . Lots of facilities for wheelchair users . There is only the central car park which allows overnight parking all other parking areas are restricted to 8/9pm but a space can usually be had unless a specific event is on . Summer months will give you the opportunity to experience wonderful music events . Boat trips are available to take you to other resorts around the lake but these are very basic ferries and journeys can be long . Few English tourists mainly German /Austrian who do seem to take over restaurants /sun beds etc but it’s lovely to be amongst the locals and shop/ restaurant and bar staff are very efficient friendly and helpful .

It is a pleasant town, which is a bit touristy.

It is a pleasant town, which is a bit touristy. But you can find small oases where the local kitchen prepares magical food. The lake is lovely to swim in. You can quickly get to know Saló, but there are so many other excursion destinations that you can supplement your holiday with.

The house was perfect for our needs. We used it as a base for exploring the lake Garda area. The private indoor swimming pool makes all the difference, it was warm enough and the kids enjoyed it a lot. Very convenient for the rainy days. I should also mention that the beds and pillows were very confortable. This is not always the case in this kind of holiday homes. Plenty of parking space outside the house, by the road. Great value compared to similar houses in the area, even in the low season.

Great location - right on the edge of the lake. Just out of Salo but could walk into the town in a minute! The two rooms we booked were on the same floor and really spacious and exceptionally clean. The hotel had a pool which was great but you could also jump off the pontoon into the Lake. The staff were so helpful and friendly, especially in the evening around the bar. They catered well for us, providing gluten free options for breakfast.

The staff are very kind and courteous and were happy to help with any questions. The hotel is located in a very nice, patinated building right on the shore of Lake Garda. The rooms on the first floor open out onto a large communal terrace with a beautiful panoramic view. The terrace has sun loungers, parasols, huge plants and a hot tub. The restaurant is tidy, clean and the food is delicious.

An old-school Italian hotel, took me back to the childhood. The room decor a bit dated, but everything was clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. Great location. The breakfast was fantastic and definitely something that makes you forget about the dated rooms. Good value for an area with a lot of tourists at any time of the year.
