The hotel staff were awesome. Kudos to Antonella, Sarah and others for representing Ibis so well. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of variety. Location is really good for exploring the city center area. The front desk recommended a car service that was fantastic. We used them daily and never any issues. Ask reception to provide you with contact info for Silvio’s car service. You won’t be disappointed with the vehicles, drivers or the price!

After 2 weeks in Sicily, this was our final night and we decided to "splurge" on what we thought was a Luxury Boutique Hotel. Upon arrival the woman at reception was helpful, offering water and a map. When we went up to our room I was certain we were given the wrong room. We had booked a "triple" room which was shown as having 2 separate sleeping areas/beds. The room we arrived to had only 1 bed and didn't look anything like what I booked. The woman at reception was able to have another bed added to the room without any hesitation which we appreciated. Another employee was very kind and made sure we had breakfast before our 6am hotel departure.

The staff was very kind. I wanted to borrow a kettle to drink coffee in the room, but unfortunately, kettles were not available for rent. They provided hot water, which was helpful.

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theatre, and opposite is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archaeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, a crossroads with a fountain at each corner.
Other attractions include round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodation.

We enjoyed our 3 days in Palermo and I think it was a perfect duration. Plenty to see both old and new. The Free Walking Tour was a highlight. Excellent guides and a small group of like minded travelers. We left them a 10E tip per person. The house tour of Conte Frederico was also well worth the price of admission. We had many good meals. Osteria Mercede was the recommended seafood; upscale but welcoming. We had a nice lunch at the Marina restaurant Culmina I believe that was the name. Modern sunny room with views of the boats. A quiet respite from the tourist crush downtown. 10 minute walk. Great service, sushi and seafood plus generous sandwiches. Menu featured pictures which made choosing difficult. We arrived from the airport midday using a private 64E limo transfer. It made life very easy as they met us at arrivals and helped us to the car. The hotel arranged this transfer. Upon departing we took the airport shuttle bus from in front of the Prada store across from Garibaldi Opera. 6E per person. We bought our tickets from the driver in cash. The bus is modern and air conditioned. Large luggage compartment below the bus. We hoped to make the 9:10am bus Sunday but when it arrived it had space only for those who already had their tickets. There were 10-15 others so the station master called HQ and they sent another bus so we only waited 15 minutes and not the scheduled 30 minute interval. Nice! Tickets can be bought at a specific Tabak shop near the Prada stop and maybe we should have planned ahead. The bus was full leaving Prada so we did not stop but I do not think this is normally an express bus. In 40 minutes we were at PMO. In sum we enjoyed Palermo. We never felt threatened by anyone or subject to crime risk and we walked all over town and through the outdoor markets morning to after midnight. There is some trash and some graffiti but larger Italian cities have these unfortunate blights. No more or less than Rome.

There is a lot to see and do in Palermo, and when you think you don’t want to see another church or museum, just wander through the city and soak in the atmosphere - there’s great street art to see as you meander through the backstreets and lanes, and several wonderful markets to explore, or a beach (Mondello) to spend a lazy morning or afternoon. And within easy reach by train or bus there is Cefalu (lovely in its own right) or the jaw-dropping wonders of Monreale. I’ve been twice - the first time for 4 days, the second time for 11 days, and I’m sure there’s still more to do when I go back!

Palermo is a city of contrasts.
Palermo is a city of contrasts. It sounds trite, but it is true. Beautiful city centre and ugly suburbs. Magnificent palaces and piles of rubbish stuck next to architectural gems. Reliable bus and rail connections and endless car queues. Cheerful and cute Palermitani and constant challenges at pedestrian crossings. And a great kitchen.
It was rich, and probably too rich to resist. It has potential.
Palermo is a must.
Wow! I’m glad we saved this place for last, it was the highlight of our trip to Sicily. Mariangela is the perfect hostess serving an amazing breakfast. She is so passionate about cooking and sharing her beautiful home. Her place is amazing, love her eclectic style and historic home with a peak at the ruins below through a glass floor! The location is perfect, close to everything but quiet. just loved staying here. Will miss Mariangela’s delicious breakfast and afternoon coffee in the garden. arrivederci Palermo❤️
The best breakfast we had in Italy. Every morning, the host prepared a fresh homemade breakfast and also took into account any allergies of other guests.
The room was spacious, clean and cozy. The B&B is located near to the train station and in the middle of a tourist area with many nice restaurants and views.
The host was exceptional: When I got ill during my stay, she even contacted a doctor, translated for us and helped us buy medicine.
If we return to Palermo, for sure we will be staying here again!
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. The boat is absolutely beautiful and Luana and Salvatore were the best hosts. We spent 2 days out sailing to some beautiful locations around Sicily. The hospitality was just amazing! Luana was a phenomenal cook as well. We got a flat tire on our rental car prior to arriving to the boat and Salvatore personally took us the day we checked out to a mechanic to help us get it fixed. We cannot thank them enough for the best stay!
This is the great apartment in the middle of old Palermo. It is spacious and stocked with all the necessary things, including washing machine, espresso machine and even espresso capsules. The host was extremely friendly, helpful and gracious. It was my best stay in Sicily and I really enjoyed it. The location is very convenient to everything. The only reason I didn't give the maximum points for location, I reserve those to the ones with the sea views.
- Best location in Palermo: Safe, quiet and clean;
- Amazing and lovely host. Helped us with lots of tips and information for our trip. Thank you, dear Eleonora!
- Excellent breakfast: homemade delicious and typical recipes, great variety of foods;
- Best cappuccino of Sicily;😊👌🏻
- Beautiful place with everything you need: shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer….
This B&B is highly recommended!!! Don’t look further
Neat apartment close to train station and main sights of Palermo. Good volume. Comfortable, clean. Well equipped kitchen. Place seems to have been recently renovated. Host Massimiliano is very nice. Offers a reasonably priced private commute from the airport, although it's not much faster than the public bus. Good communication from the host. Finally someone who can speak English in Sicily. Good price.
Located in Ballarò (downtown), next to one of the oldest street markets in Palermo, the most lively one and surely picturesque of Sicily. Nice room and bathroom, with the best breakfast in town (and the best I have tried in Sicily). And all thanks to its host, Mariella 🌞. She is a wonderful human being who makes you feel at home. I cannot describe anything else, just try it.
Perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect. Very clean, comfortable cozy beds, and a beautiful, charming aesthetic. Very well appointed, recommendations for food and drink, and plenty of info on Sicily. Serena and the rest of the staff here were very warm and attentive, and the breakfast is incredible. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Palermo if I returned.
Lovely boutique hotel. Nice rooms with interesting and tasteful decor. Good location for Palermo which is a thought site to be in. Greatly appreciated the availability of garage parking which is really essential in Palermo and street parking is almost impossible. Good breakfast although no hot food was available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very clean.
The lovely women who manage the hotel were incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions for sites to visit. There is a wonderful garden in the back and comfortable sitting area in the front room. We were close to the daily market and walking distance to the historical center of Palermo. For our first time in Sicily, this was a great place to start!
Very nice boutique hotel in centre of Palermo conveniently located for the Mercato del Capo. Good service and facilities. The hotel's nearby parking was convenient and enabled us to leave the car and explore Palermo on foot (Google maps found the route after Waze tried to take us through the pedestrian market)
Beautiful boutique hotel, very private with great location for sitting out by the pool. Room was excellent and very comfortable. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast and drinks were all excellent. Very convenient for the sights of Palermo and the location was excellent.
Palco Rooms is a boutique hotel within the historical heart of Palermo. The room we had was very well appointed with attention to decor. It's particularly suited to a holiday or short break rather than a place to work from during a business trip. The optional breakfast is good.
Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Excellent location. This was one of our favorite places we stayed at during our trip to Sicily. Easy parking on the street right near the facility. Would definitely book here again if we come back to Palermo.
one of the best hotels we have stayed during our visit of Sicily. Housed in a historic building, it is centrally located. We got a room upgrade. Davide and Matteo and everyone else are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Hotel is in a central location, close to really nice restaurants and bars. Our room was very clean. We also got very friendly and helpful guidance from Federica. She gave us all the tips not only for Palermo but also for Sicily.
The best hotel we stayed at during our whole stay in Sicily. The room was big and well decorated. The overall place was an old palace. The rooftop with the small pool is a must for sunset!
Very clean and cozy place. Maria Grazia was amazing with us. Best place we could stay for our holidays in Sicily, close to the airport and plenty of beaches. Highly recommend
