Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.
Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

Very nice city split in two parts, Modica alta(hill) and modica bassa(old town), long corso for nice promenade for shopping and eating, many old interesting buildings and monuments, turistic train running around the city, defintely 1-2 night to spend worth it.

Modica is a very interesting town. For older people the steps and steep roads and streets might be challenging. The green tourist “train” gave a good overview of the histoic centre of the old town. Modica is famous for its chocolate - tours need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Modica is so unique.
Modica is so unique. Our first view of the steep hillside of buildings took our breath away. Our phones weren't helping us get there so we drove down from the alto section to the bottom through the town. That was amazing. Just looking up at different times of the day are worth the experience.

Unfortunately we visited Modica on a rainy day so our experience was dampened a little. It looked like it was full of historical interest and of course it's famous for its chocolate if you like their style of chocolate!
We found Ragusa Ibla more enjoyable.

Modica was the perfect Baroque city to locate in to explore the other cities and the beach. The location to bus station and train station was convenient to do daytime exploring. The city had a good mix of tourist stuff and regular people shops and restaurants.
Mostly I cooked in my apartment but I took day trips every day.
Lots of places call themselves "spas," but this was really is. You are above the valley where Modica is, it's lovely, really quiet. Breakfast was out of this world, every morning. We were almost late for one breakfast (jet lag) but the staff was kind enough to wait for us to arrive. Our room faced the pool and if the weather had been warmer, I am sure that we would have taken advantage, it looked beautiful. We had somewhere to travel by taxi every day and the staff was super helpful setting up travel for our daily trips.
Absolutely the best place we’ve stayed at during our trip over Sicily.
Beautiful old almost abondoned villa, calm environment just with birds and lizards, perfectly clean and nice renovated interior with new furniture and bathroom. Salvatore is very kind host who showed us all the buildings and introduced the story behind them.
We really enjoyed having breakfast or just reading in the courtyard under the trees, so we felt like we could spend there whole summer… Thank you!
Wonderful, tastefully designed modern and newly furnished apartment on the 6th floor. The stunning view over the old town with the sunrise and being woken by nearby church bells was just magical. Everything was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. The memory foam pillow and an extra pillow were a luxury touch we didn’t expect.
The host, Federica, was exceptionally helpful and kind, making the experience perfect. We just wished we could’ve stayed longer…
Giovanni was in constant touch with us on WhatsApp regarding the arrival procedure. He met us on site and helped us move in. Explained the sight-seeing in Modica and nearby towns. Giovanni then showed us where to park our car for free for 2 nights. The apartment is very clean, well equipped and really cool during the warm weather. It is close to the main sights. Best value for money in our 12 day stay in Sicily
May 2023 - Giorgo the owner was nice, the room and bathroom were super clean! The house is really nice. The swimming pool looked amazing but we did not use it because of the weather. Breakfast was good and with a variety of options. We would definitely come back!
It is just 10-15 mins away from Modica and the roads are in good quality. It is a nice opportunity to sightsee the fields around this area.
The host was kind and helpful. The main appeal to this place is the balcony with the view of the cathedral and the surroundings. It was quite the show to see all the swallows flying around at sunset.
For the rooms, they were very clean. Breakfast was good but you need to go in a cafe near by (so it’s not quite a B&B but more of a hotel). You don’t get to interact with the host like a proper b&b.
I love Modica Boutique Hotel. Modern , clean, staff all well mannered and Luca & Lorenzo speak english . secured parking is underground and accessed with lift. the breakfast is fresh and a vast variety of food & cakes . Water Machines are on every floor and guest can go and fill up the empty two glass bottles provided free of charge. I will be back and recommend to others for sure. See You :)
Exactly as shown in photos: very comfortable & modern flat, fully equipped (including washing machine), large terrace to enjoy on quiet street just off the main street. Giovanni was great with communication, meeting us at flat to show us around, offering tips on eating & sights to see in Modica & Regusa. Even helped with free parking locations
The hotel is beautiful and clean! It has a prime location. A few metres away from the main road. The terrace overlooks Modica. The room is spacious and beautiful and very soundproof. The breakfast was delicious and well arranged (used a checklist to tick what we preferred). We were able to store our bicycles inside.
Amazing place in the heart of Modica. Very friendly welcome and host always available to share tips and recommendations. The room is a piece of history. Breakfast at an adjacent bakery with the best croissant of entire Sicily. Thank you.
Everything was perfect!
The room was nice, spacious, pretty and the bathroom was amazing
The bed is very comfortable, and it's quiet. Best night I had in Sicily
Breakfast is good, you can park your car in the house
I 100% recommend
The location is fantastic the room super clean and nice. The kitchen well stocked with products for breakfast and refreshments and the bathroom as well. Fantastic place to spend some days in the beautiful city of modica
Giancarlo was so kind and helpful.
Lovely family. Breakfast was the BEST! ENJOYED having that wonderful Modica chocolate on our breakfast plate each morning.
Thank you for giving us great memories.
Our host was very gracious and provided clear communication. the place we stayed in was well appointed, clean, and charming. Location is in lower Modica but within walking to most places.
Beautiful garden, possibility to park car in nearby garage, best breakfast we had in Sicily. Bed was fit for taller people. Close to city centre. Friendly and helpful host.
Not our first visit at this hotel and will not be the last, Great location, staff and the place itself is so relaxing. Easy to reach Modica, Ragusa and areas from here.
Excellent hotel. Amazing family run hotel. Exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic. Just the way to discover a new city. And Modica is a must-do anyway.
