A quieter resort that's a good base for exploring. Plenty of restaurants and cafes. Lake ferries are reliable but Desanzano is some distance from the more well known resorts. Trains can take you to Milan, Verona and Venice for day trips. Loved the inner harbour for lunchtime drinks.

Desenzano and Rivoltella del Garda are like one town.
Desenzano and Rivoltella del Garda are like one town. You can not notice, when you walk form one to the other. Together theyare a typical italian place with very nice arckitecture and a lot of good restaurants, icecream bars and shops. The landscape is beautyful and here are al lot of beautyful plants arond. One can easily travel to all other towns and villages around the lake by ship, which at the same time is a fantastic experience.

I think it’s a great place to stay as it has easy access to the rest of the lake plus Verona and the wine routes. It has very many restaurants and bars and prices are reasonable for a destination like this.

Desenzano was a buzzing place especially at weekends. There’s lots of top restaurants to be had and a few even better ones a short bus ride away. Try Rossi&Rossi, La Taverna lago de Garda and El Mexico Tex Mex all in rivoltella. Get the line 26 bus to Verona to stop rivoltella via agello 10mins from desenzano centre. The castle in desenzano is worth a visit only 10 minute walk up the hill from the centre.

Desenzano is a lovely holiday resort with a beautiful centre with plenty of restaurants and bars. Easy access to ferries.
During tge four days we were there, we visited the castle and the Roman Villa. Whilst we were there, the Giro D'Italia finished in the town which was quite exciting!
We spent half a day also visiting Sirmione by ferry and half a day visiting Pescheiria del Garda by train.
We ate at the yacht club, and the Ristorante Al Portico, both at tge Eastern end of town. And the Santa Pizza at the Western end of town. We preferred the first two restaurants.
We were using public transport. Apart from the ferry, the bus terminus and station were half an hours' walk away up a hill.
There are plenty if buses but we never really git to grips with the bus transportation system. Probably vecause of tge Guro and tge narket on Tuesday morning interfered with the routes!

Ferry trips are a must but can be very crowded.
More restraunts than you can shake a stick at, but are prevalantly pizza, not much else in the way of true Italian quisine.
Busses and trains are great during the day but stop running at around 20.00, and hardly run at all on Sunday

The apartment was extremely spacious and clean. The A/C units worked great, and the place was fully stocked with anything you may need (clothes washer, iron, espresso machine, etc.). It was also in a great location (2 minute walk to the town center and ferry). Mary was a great host, she responded very quickly to any questions we had, and she gave good restaurant recommendations. This was easily one of the best places we’ve stayed at Lake Garda, and we hope to come back sometime soon!
Hotel is located very close to the railway station and a short walk away from Lake Garda. The hotel has a very nice pool located in the front garden with plenty of relaxing areas either around the pool or in the garden. The hotel has a small but well equipped bar with a pleasant lounge area and breakfast is excellent with a wide choice of offerings. Staff are very pleasant and the room (especially the bed) was very comfortable.

Location, location, then location. Central between the most two beautiful cities (Sirmione and Palo). Also 5 mins away from water front and the astonishing downtown of Desenzano del Garda. The hosts Mara and Isabella are very kind, smiling and helpful. Nice for family as i booked the suite with view to the mountain, garden. Property has a large swimming pool and garages. Will comeback again for sure.
What a great location for our 4 day stay in Desenzano , so close to train station, lake and restaurants. We had 2 celiacs in our group and they were well catered for at breakfast and also a great variety for regular breakfast . Hotel was so clean and comfortable and staff so friendly and helpful, will definitely be back for a longer stay and have already recommended to friends .
Beautiful, relaxing hotel and gardens just a short walk into the centre of Desenzano. The rooms are comfortable and stylish. Loved having the fantastic breakfast on the terrace every morning. The hotel is superb. It is directly overlooking the lake. The location couldn’t be better. The staff is really friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great.
