We only stayed to be able to get to airport for early morning flight which was impossible from Ortigia where we were actually staying . It was perfect for us as we wanted a pool for our daughter. We were here for a wedding, so we knew we'd be travelling in taxis daily due to the location we picked. A taxi cost around €27 one way into Catania. And around €15 to the castle nearby. Very clean and quiet hotel.

We enjoyed exploring Catania on foot and had a walking tour of the city which showed us some of the main sights in the centre.
the city is very interesting and full of energy and the people we met were friendly and welcoming.
We enjoyed a variety of local dishes and the price of things was very reasonable.
The markets, including the fish market make are worth visiting.

Catania was the last day of a 2 week Sicily tour, and was a disappointment. There seemed to be no pride in the city at all, and very little history on show. Accepting that you can’t make style out of nothing, we wished we’d spent our last day elsewhere! Even yhe bus tour revealed little of visual interest.
The hotel was booked for an early flight out on Monday, and was very clean and tidy, with a balcony view of Etna. We would stay again if flying in to Etna, but be aware the 1.6m taxi ride was 30 euros.

There is so much to see I wished we could have stayed for 3-4 days but not in summer. Already in the beginning of June it was hot.
I really dislike the amount of trash everywhere and the smell of cars as well as the fact that there are so many cars in the city center.

Catania - it's up to the part of the city.
Catania - it's up to the part of the city. City center and port are not very astonishing, building in reconstruction, closed shops and trash on the street, especially during easter holidays when many places were closed. The parks and monuments ok, good location for excursions to Etna, Taormina, Siracusa and not far from the airport. Nice restaurants, good food but not all options for breakfast were open. We got to the beach by bus as it seemd to be impossible on foot due to industrial and port area.

The historical center of Catania; nice and relatively well maintained, with the Cathedral and the elephant fountain.
The renowned fish market; a bit chaotic and not well maintained.
Strolling through via dei Crociferi to enjoying the beautiful Sicilian baroque architecture.
Finally relaxing a bit at the villa Bellini.
Excursion to the Etna, not to be missed!
The location was good, a few blocks from Piazza Duomo where restaurants and cafes are so at night had some movement but the hotel was far enough that you didn't hear any noice.
The room was big in size, the bed super comfy, bathroom well ventilated. Small shower but with good water pressure.
Serena, the host/manager was very kind, helpful and spoke very good English...which I found is not common in Sicily.
The room also had a water kettle and some coffee/tea/sugar for you to use. The bathroom had some toiletries too.
This beautiful hotel lies in the country side close to Catania. We wanted a quiet stay in Sicily, away from the city live and that's what we received. The staff was amazing and incredibly helpful and the restaurant had some of the best food we ever ate. The view from the breakfast room towards Mt Etna was very enjoyable every morning.
The only thing to be aware of is that planes for the Catania fly low over this property, so you can hear airplanes from time to time, but that wasn't an issue for us at all.
We stayed here the night before an early flight out of Catania airport. They arranged transportation to the airport at 5:00am for us which was much appreciated. We dropped off our rental car at the airport the night before (since the rental agency was closed at 5:00 am) and walked back to the hotel for the night. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the airport but there's a section that doesn't have sidewalk so it might be tricky with luggage.
We used this as a cheap stop over before an early morning flight out of Catania and it worked for that. They have a restaurant that made us a pretty good dinner on our schedule and they made us a take away breakfast which actually came in handy. Note to those turning in a car at 5:00 in the morning, on the way to the airport there was only one gas station open and it was the last one on the right and it did not show up on any of my maps.
This was our second stay at Sicily Luxury B&B: we began and ended our six weeks in southern Italy here. As noted in the previous review, everything about this lodging is great: breakfasts, location, facilities, and staff. Paid street parking easily available within a 5-10 minute walk. Highly recommended as a base for exploring Catania, Taormina, Messina (don't miss the Caravaggios in the Regional Museum there), and Etna.
Everything! It is very well located, very clean and bed is sooo comfortable. Breakfast they serve is so delicious, and local. Hosts are just the best! We felt like staying at friends place, helping us with anything and providing all the local tips for us. Definitely a place to be when in Catania. For us it was a great location to explore east coast of Sicily.
Also, it is close to metro, and just one station from train.
Of course we got the warmest welcome ever in Catania at our apartman. The flat was absolutly luxury with air-conditioning, kitchen tools, kind interior, tidiness, charming terrace and guidelines to the city. The owners every day helped us with nice tips. We spent our first long holiday in this gorgeous place and if you are considering to choose Sicily as a target Agata's hotel is the best choice! :)
Good location, by Via Etna. Simple, clean tidy room with good hot shower.
Breakfast fine, hosts in morning were nice and helpful.
Its a cheap hotel but dont let this put you off. It is clean and tidy.
Catania is rough around the edges. The walk to the railway station is through rebuilt postwar bomb sites.
The main street is beautiful, good architecture, views of Etna.
We were not lost for any info whatsoever. Our hosts went beyond to make our experience in Catania memorable. We couldn’t have asked for any better location to explore the beauty of the downtown area! We’ve travelled many different places in Europe and if in Sicily, Catania this location is
#1. We will definitely return in the near future!
Excellent luxury hotel in the heart of Catania, we were very comfortable here and very happy with the service. The breakfast was excellent, with variety to choose from and very fresh high quality food. We slept better here than any other accommodations we had in two weeks in Sicily. Excellent supplies in the room, very high quality.
The apartment was in very good condition, very clean and spacious, equipment with everything that one needs. Antonio was very nice and helpful. The location is just outside the central area. 35-40 min walking to the train station. It is well connected with bus lines. We would definitely choose it again for our next trip to Sicily.
Excellent service from all staff. Good location very easy to walk into the main area of town. Was given a map and shown a good walking route to get all the main sites and end back at the hotel. Really helped as we were only in Catania one day, so ensured we made the most of it. Also the airport transfer was excellent.
The hotel is very well located. If you are traveling by bus from Catania airport, the bus stops is nearby to the hotel, at around one minute walking. My room was excellent! Super clean and the bed very comfy. They offer a complete breakfast. The staff is very lovely and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay.
Beautiful villa within walking distance of the train station and airport. The excellent host communicated with us well and met us to give us the key and instructions for our stay. Perfect accommodations for us to end our trip to Sicily and get to the airport for our 6 AM flight.
The place is quite basic but very convenient if you arrive late and need to travel on early the next day. We were traveling to Catania early in the morning so a hotel near the airport was ideal for us and the free shuttle was very convenient.
Boutique and very safe hotel for the very unsafe locus in Catania. Being near Central train and bus station is perfect for travelling around Sicily. Very beautiful inner gardens.
Centrally located in the city. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop and a bus stops - Alibus from the airport of Catania. Nearby via Roma with various branded boutiques.
The breakfast was the best I've had here in Sicily at a hotel or b&b. I live here so I've been to many and this was the best by far. Pepe is the absolute best!!
