Le Dune Sicily Hotel, hotel in Catania

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 2 km away from the city centre of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest.

the location is great as it's near the airport, yet far from city Center , its was not value for money as the facility seemed old, beach is not something you would expect as nice one, yet good enough for quick swim given that water is affected from the port nearby

FAQs about hotels in Catania

A Perfect Combination of Ancient and Modern

Located on Sicily’s eastern coast, at the foot of Mount Etna, Catania is the island’s second largest city. This charming destination features unique Sicilian Baroque architecture, large squares, avenues and a very important port.

On the northern side of the Cathedral Square, the historical Palazzo degli Elefanti houses the Town Hall of Catania. The Elephant Fountain is the city’s symbol and the entrance to the main shopping area. Surrounded by stunning Baroque buildings, Piazza del Duomo is a popular meeting point for tourists and locals.

Dedicated to Saint Agata and built over the Roman Baths of Achilles, the Duomo has an impressive facade that is one of Gia Battista Vaccarini’s masterpieces. The cathedral’s dome dates to 1802, while in the vaulted interior is the grave of the well-known composer Vincenzo Bellini.

Facing the Ionian Sea, this beautiful seaside place is one the hottest Italian cities during the summer. Mount Etna is an active volcano and a nice place for skiing in winter or a trip to the solidified rivers of lava during the rest of the year.

With the busiest airport in Sicily, Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, Catania is easily accessible by numerous European destinations like Munich, Rome and London. You can stay in one of the Catania hotels, guest houses or hostels Booking.com offers.

I stayed here for two nights and left early on the last day. I did not like Catania. I decided to travel to syracuse instead which was so much better and there is so much more for tourist. The only good thing about Catania was being able to see Mount Etna, Especially from the beach too and leaving!

Catania is a good fun city and well worth visiting. Just a few words of warning though, there is a stall on the fish market in the shape of a boat selling cooked fish, be aware there are no prices and it is a total rip off. It's under the railway arches

We enjoyed exploring Catania on foot and had a walking tour of the city which showed us some of the main sights in the centre. the city is very interesting and full of energy and the people we met were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a variety of local dishes and the price of things was very reasonable. The markets, including the fish market make are worth visiting.

Catania was the last day of a 2 week Sicily tour, and was a disappointment. There seemed to be no pride in the city at all, and very little history on show. Accepting that you can’t make style out of nothing, we wished we’d spent our last day elsewhere! Even yhe bus tour revealed little of visual interest. The hotel was booked for an early flight out on Monday, and was very clean and tidy, with a balcony view of Etna. We would stay again if flying in to Etna, but be aware the 1.6m taxi ride was 30 euros.

There is so much to see I wished we could have stayed for 3-4 days but not in summer. Already in the beginning of June it was hot. I really dislike the amount of trash everywhere and the smell of cars as well as the fact that there are so many cars in the city center.

what can I say about my stay first the location is extremly good if some one need to travel by bus from Catania airport the bus stop is infront of the hotel just you need to cross the street. The room was comfort with all you need even the bathroom larger then the normal hotels. The staff is so helpful any thing you need and ask they are quite ready to help you. The hotel is clean and quite I tought that as its in the heart of via Etnea at night will be a little bit noisy but I never heard any noise at all.

An excellent place before or after a flight and I would add - even beyond that - the distance to the center of Catania is very short. And even this apartment can be used as a starting point for a trip with a car in Sicily, a well-maintained and well-furnished apartment in all respects. Near consumers, restaurants and a cafeteria. Walking distance of about 10 minutes from the airport. The owner of the apartment - a wonderful and kind woman who will help you in everything.

The views of the sea, pool area and outdoor breakfast are are gorgeous. The staff is friendly and multilingual. We stayed here to get something closer in to the airport and wish we could have stayed longer. The beds are comfortable and like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast was delicious. Best hostel I've stayed in the whole of Italy. Clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, full of character, homely atmosphere, large rooms/bathrooms, lovely lounge perfect to socialise and meet other travellers, right in the centre of Catania, everything at the doorstep. Salvo and his volunteers are the most welcoming people ever, my time in Sicily wouldn't have been the same hadn't I picked this hostel and met them. Thank you guys!

Extremely kind owner, always willing to fulfil any needs you may have. Delicious breakfast, arguably the best I have ever had in a b&b or hotel. A lot of breakfast-typical products (like milk, honey, bread, biscuits etc) and you can try different sweet typical from Sicily, of very high quality. The room is wonderful and perfectly clean, it has a balcony and of course individual bathroom. I'm amazed by La Casa del Viaggiatore.

Everything was super exceptional. Particularly the breakfast was thoroughly prepared everyday within the room amenities, and the room was very large. We loved our stay at this apartment, especially the amazing breakfast pastries! Ivana could not have been more helpful. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short after Easyjet cancelled our flight out of Catania, and Ivana not only refunded part of our booking, but also generously arranged an early morning ride to the airport. We hope we will be able to return to Sicily and if so we will definitely stay at Il Moro again!

The hotel is located in the Orange farm, pine trees and private beach access. We did enjoy our stay. About 20min to Catania International Airport.
