Seemed a little grimey having come from Ortigia, but turned out to
be really interesting once you find your way around . Seemed
perfectly safe to walk around, using common sense as in most cities.Would definitely visit again in future .

There are many historical sites to visit.
There are many historical sites to visit. However, in the high summer, with 40 Celsius Degrees, our program was to have a nice breakfast, go to the beach and then eat in a a restaurant in the evening. And it was just perfect :) Coffee is great, cornetto filled with pistacchio cream is incredible, the beaches are wonderful, the water has comfortable temperature and the lidos have a good infrastructure, some are fancy.. Local food, especially seafood, is amazing. Ps. We rented a car. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to find a place to park and to sit inside the lidos. Sometimes you can book your chair and umbrella in advance.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable, with an excellent kitchen, bathroom and living area. It is located very close to the markets and restaurants. Two supermarkets were located just in front of the apartment. The location is also close to a bus terminal with connections to/from the airport and to other towns around Sicily. This is a great place to stay for exploring Catania and the surrounding area. Alberto was very nice and helpful. He was rather good in english so it was very easy to communicate with him.
Romano Palace hotel is located perfectly to get to the airport (ten min drive). It is a big and quite old hotel, with large rooms, a lovely pool and pool area to relax at and what was great was a free pass to cross the road and go to the beach resort with loungers and umbrellas, looking up to Mnt Etna. We also ate at the beach restaurant which was delicious. You can park within the hotel grounds for Euros7, the staff were helpful and friendly. A great end day/night to our wonderful week in super Sicily.
This hotel is located about a ten-minute walk from Catania Airport, but it's not feasible to walk there due to the road conditions. The accommodation itself was excellent – very clean, comfortable, and convenient. The transfer from the airport to the hotel costs 10 euros, and a taxi back to the airport costs around 12 euros, but overall, it was very conveniet. Everything was clean and nice and there was a free bottle of water which was really needy when we arrived at night.
We stayed here twice: before and after a week of sailing. Hotel has easy, 20 min access to the AirPort, 10 min by taxi to plazza del d’uomo. It has a pool, is clean, has working AC, very good and varous breafast, staff speaks english! All the above is not obvious in Sycylia, and in Catania center. What else, which is not common at All, you Can have lunch. Free bar in the room, kettle with coffe
Spacious rooms with either patio or balcony
The apartment is located in the heart of Catania, in the historical center, near Via Etnea. It is a typical Sicilian house, very spacious and clean. Our host was very helpful with everything we needed, including the transfer from and to the airport and responded very promptly. We really enjoyed our stay in Sicily!
