The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were a group of 8, and they made all of us feel very comfortable. The rooms were large and clean. There were no mosquitoes in the room. The balconies opened out to the amazing forest/garden. Sitting on the balcony we could spot an incredible diversity of wildlife. This is one of the best features of the hotel. The views from the rooftop were amazing! People in our group enjoyed the pool. The breakfast buffet was also very good - there is both south Indian and bread/cereals available, and they were all very good. The homemade jams, chocolate and peanut butter were very tasty. The staff also had excellent tips for viewpoints and spice gardens. We had early morning appointments at the forest and they thoughtfully provided us with bananas before we left. The helpful staff is the second best thing about the hotel!

This place is wonderful! Our family (I was with my child and a friend) had a perfect vacation here. Every detail was designed for our comfort, and the rooms were clean and well-equipped. The environment is incredibly clean, family-friendly, which allowed us to relax a bit as well.

Amazing place. Make sure to join the forest guards on the early morning Nature Walks or Green Walks or the late night Jungle Scouts. Even if you don't see any animals, being able to experience the forests in a safe manner is incredible.

We had just 1 night available for our Thekkady trip. So, the only activity we could do was the Periyar boat ride in the afternoon. Highly recommended. It was drizzling lightly. The natural beauty of the place is extra-ordinary. We saw a few animals - elephants, deer, mongoose etc. Didn't get to see tigers. The boat ride itself is a great experience. The staff on the boat are very friendly and help with taking pictures. We had booked tickets online - except for the vehicle parking ticket - that needs to be taken from the ticket counter at the site (no separate parking ticket counter or collection - all tickets are through the same counter).

The main attraction is the national park, where there are a lot of options for more or less demanding activities from a gentle boat trip to a two-day hike through the jungle. The rangers are brilliant. in town there are restaurants ranging from cheap to high-end, elegant handicraft shops, elephant parks, ayurvedic massage places - whatever you fancy, really. The weather is benign, as it's quite elevated. Transport connections (by bus) are pretty good from the central bus station. There are also western-style cafes where you can hang out and read; Wildernest is green and peaceful, while Chrissie's even has cappuccino!
This is probably the best affordable stay at Thekkady. Mr. Suresh, the host, was very accommodating and, at every stage of the visit offered us help. The room balcony overlooks a small patch of a garden covered with dense trees of mango and avocado. There is a roof top spacious dining area with hammocks and wooden swings. The rooms were clean and tidy. I will definitely stay there again for my next visit.
The stay was wonderful! Clean room, staff that was adamant in helping us throughout our trip. Very helpful in booking daily activities and brought us food when we were tired, i really recommend the spice cottage for any traveller going through Thekkady!
An amazing resort in a hidden hill in Thekkady very close at N.P. Periyar! The resort have excellent deluxe rooms Also the buffet at the dinning hall have a variety of Indian specialities! A great cuisine that you should taste it!!
