Apart from the Parliament and the beach area, there are no other tourist sites. The government should develop more tourism sites like the number of wine shops.
A very long walk from parking lot to Auroville beach is not necessary and not recommended for elderly and children.
What is the reason for Auroville parking fees for a bike is 50 and car is 150 rupees?
It's absolutely knowing scam from all visitors.

Interesting place to visit.
Interesting place to visit. Lots to do and see, easy to get around. A visit to Auroville a must. Book early on line if you want to go into the Matrimandir, it was a memorable visit. Great places to eat. We loved the restaurant at La Villa Shanti (booking essential), Restaurant Cecile, Dilliwalla6 and Bread and Chocolate. Lots of places to get Ayurvedic massage and treatments.

A 3 day trip is enough to cover Puducherry - 2 days to sight see and 1 day to relax. Must places to visit are paradise beach and Auroville. Beach dressing necessary to enjoy paradise Beach as it is a shallow beach and one does get fully wet. Keep the evening and night for Rock Beach and a restaurants around it. Do mangrove trail if available.
Stay in white town if possible.
If on a road trip from Chennai, do take a detour to Alamparai Fort. It takes an hour max here.

The hotel service is excellent.. Their staff Felix and lal the other people in the hotel are fabulous with their duty.. Hotel is extremely close to Auroville beach and all other beaches are 15-20 mins away... It was so perfect that we booked this hotel.. The staff is very good with everything.. clean rooms and excellent customer service.. would highly recommend people to stya at this hotel if you go to Pondicherry.. .The hotel reception also arranged paid rental cab/bike services...
The problem is not their property or stay or the staff at the hotel. The only problem is, they pester you to give rating by sending Booking.com links, trip advisor links, Google link and above all their own hotel feedback survey link.
Another important thing, they gave a tab and asked to rate at the hotel at the time of checkout and they were constantly calling atleast everyday asking to rate. This is such a nuisance which is making me give 1 star.
The best part about this place was the hospitality of Fabian, Surender, Benovah and Murugan. They helped me and my family with moving around Pondicherry. It would be right to say that without them, the stay would be disappointing. They made up for a few shortcomings of the hotel by going out of their way and accommodating us. ThisHotel needs an upgrade. Hotel is in a central location and provides easy access to all the nearby places.
Veeras is close to the heritage town. The staffs are very helpful. In pondicherry, it's very tough to get a parking space in hotels. Veeras got you COVERED and the manager help you to park the car in parking. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It's newly built hotel and it's super neat.

La Paradise is near to Eden breach. However the stay is not worth for money. Good for bachelor stay. Photo added by Hotel is completely different in reality.

Location is 100 meter away for Main road. 2akam away from Eden Beach - Most beautiful beach in Pondicherry.
The Hotel was in the centre of White Town in Pondicherry, it had a lift, the Air-condition in the room worked well, there was a small fridge in the room and the reception provided sealed bottles of Still drinking water. The staff, manager Kabilan and his assistant Mani were very helpful, and even arranged our driver driven cab for two whole days.
The reception guy was so rude, arrogant and toxicated with alcohol. One of the worst hotels I have ever seen, very bad facilities no parking was provided only street parking, the hotel demanded higher fee compared to what was shown in booking.com
Booking.com should consider removing this place from their list.
