Lots of beaches and all the beaches are clean. Though Restrooms is a drawback , Govt can work on it in the future.
For Peace, visit Aurobindo ashram and meditate for a while. Go to Manakula vinayagar temple for a vibrant darshan.

Apart from the Parliament and the beach area, there are no other tourist sites. The government should develop more tourism sites like the number of wine shops.
A very long walk from parking lot to Auroville beach is not necessary and not recommended for elderly and children.
What is the reason for Auroville parking fees for a bike is 50 and car is 150 rupees?
It's absolutely knowing scam from all visitors.

Interesting place to visit.
Interesting place to visit. Lots to do and see, easy to get around. A visit to Auroville a must. Book early on line if you want to go into the Matrimandir, it was a memorable visit. Great places to eat. We loved the restaurant at La Villa Shanti (booking essential), Restaurant Cecile, Dilliwalla6 and Bread and Chocolate. Lots of places to get Ayurvedic massage and treatments.

A 3 day trip is enough to cover Puducherry - 2 days to sight...
A 3 day trip is enough to cover Puducherry - 2 days to sight see and 1 day to relax. Must places to visit are paradise beach and Auroville. Beach dressing necessary to enjoy paradise Beach as it is a shallow beach and one does get fully wet. Keep the evening and night for Rock Beach and a restaurants around it. Do mangrove trail if available.
Stay in white town if possible.
If on a road trip from Chennai, do take a detour to Alamparai Fort. It takes an hour max here.

Rooms are large, bed is large, clean, well equipped. There is a pleasant desk to work if needed inside the room and outisde the room on the small balcony.
The hotel is located in the indian area (temple, shops..) near the french area (5 min walking distance which is the touritisc area) so it is a good mix. Above all Prabha is very nice and helpfull. And if you are lucky, Julien (former french consul) could be here and share with you a lot of good tips about Pondicherry. I spent a fantastic week end in Pondicherry, definitely worth.
The hotel's location is excellent. Its bang in the middle of the white town and hence everything that we wanted to explore in Pondicherry (except Auroville) was nearby. The staff was very kind and accomodating. Since this is a restored/heritage property, it had it's own charm. The food options were limited but we were not disappointed by anything that we ordered. The crowd at the hotel is amazing + I loved how they were always so accomodating for breakfast and dinner. Their customer centric approach is what I love about them. The location of the hotel is good. It is just a stone throw away from Serenity beach. The rooms were extremely clean. So clean you could eat right from the floor. The owner is very helpful and polite. He let us make Maggi on his stove although they don't have a proper kitchen. Must stay if you are looking for a decent place in Pondicherry.

The stay was really good. I think, we wouldn’t get a reasonable stay for the price we spent. Just a walk away from French colony and Rock beach. We booked 2 rooms(x2) for 3 nights and the price was around 10k. I would say, it’s a go to hotel if you are in Pondicherry.

It's an excellent hotel within budget. The location is great. Sri Aurobindo Ashram and the beach is 2 minutes walking from the hotel. There are great eateries around. We always put up here every time we go to Pondicherry.

The stay was comfortable. The facilities are basic. Hotel is on the first floor without any lift. Wouldn't recommend for family/seniors. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly.
