Gangtok is and was always my favorite destination.
Gangtok is and was always my favorite destination. Apart from rainy season one can visit there anytime. Not only it's own natural beauty and cleanliness, being the state capital Gangtok is having transportation access to every corner of the state. So, being stationed there one can visit a vast range of area of North Sikkim, East Sikkim and South Sikkim at the same time go directly to pelling, versay, Ravangla etc of west Sikkim or Darjeeling, kalingpong etc of west bengal. This is the 7th time ihave visited Gangtok, be it in summer time of April/may or spring time of October- November or cold winter months of December end- March middle. Every time it's mesmerizing beauty amazes me. For the adventure lovers also Gangtok and adjoining places is just a gold mine... be it trekking, mountain biking, zip lines, paragliding, rafting in teesta or rangit or rock climbing. I would suggest everyone to visit this place atleast twice. One in summer and another time in cold winter.

There are only a handful of options for sightseeing in Gangtok, so it's best to book a short 2 days trip if you're planning on staying only in Gangtok. The town mall is the best part in Gangtok. Beautiful vibrant atmosphere, and amazing nightlife! There are some very good spots located in various parts of Sikkim which are absolutely worth your time, especially North Sikkim and East Sikkim.

gangtok is a great place to start your sikkim exploration. nathu la pass shouldnt be missed. gangtok is a great place to start your trip into north Sikkim.
be sure to work with a good travel agent because most remote places in Sikkim need permits, even for Indian residents.

Wonderful city with breathtaking views! M G Marg is a delight for people who love to get some shopping done at affordable prices. M G Marg is also a foodie's paradise! Lots of different restaurants offering different cuisines.
The ropeway was a very good experience, we got to see the city from a bird's point of view! Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is worth a visit to understand about Tibetan and Buddhist culture.
The journey to and from Tsomgo lake, Nathu La pass, and Baba Harbhajan temple is filled with great scenery including waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, winding roads with hairpin bends, and a great view of Kangchenjunga!
Overall, a wonderful trip worth every penny!
We stayed in this place for 4 nights during our Sikkim visit and it's a very good and budget friendly place for a family.
The staff is extremely courteous and well mannered. They are always ready to help. The rooms are the best part. We stayed in the Tripple Delux Room and they are huge compared to other hotels in the same price.
Also if you are Bengali, you will feel right at home because all the staff here are Bengali. The food is quite good too.
Would definitely recommend this one.
I loved the hospitality and room was well cleaned. Moreover the quality of food that was offered at the hotel was way too good. Rama the manager was so so coperative and humble. A big yes from my side and I should highly recommend people to have a stay at this hotel bcz it's not just a hotel but a place like home. I will definitely choose Great Eastern Valley Residency if I ever get a chance to visit gangtok again for sure.
Booked room was not provided. Booking ID 3687524327 for room at Gangtok on 16 April 2023. When asked for location though customer care executive, after talking with hotel manager I was asked to pay ₹1500more for the same room or it is cancelled. No alternate room offered. I paid ₹600 extra to taxi and took room in another hotel. Experience was horrible. I'll never try through this site.
One of the best stays ever. Owner Karmaji and their family members are very sweet. Best location, great view right from your bed just like shown in the Pictures . They provide a really healthy Breakfast n Dinner. They treated us just like their family members only. Whenever you go to Gangtok make sure you stay here at least for a Day.

The owner is a helpful person and a true gentleman. All the staff are very good. It is a new hotel and every room is spick and span. The kitchen prepared home like food for our preschooler and served good quality complimentary breakfast every day. There is a good restaurant located above the hotel. MG Marg is at a walkable distance from this hotel.
The best hotel in Gangtok Sikkim. You seriously cannot compare their services with anyone . Their hospitality is way out of the world . As due to ill my health they cancelled my booking without taking any extra money . Rooms are big , food is light n home made kind off . The manager and all other staffs are courteous . I m really thankful to them .

Awesome location very near to the market. The staff is really great. They offered us a room upgrade on our rebooking which we really appreciate. Breakfast is great. I think it is a perfect hotel to stay in Gangtok. Frontier is really cool on making your stay comfortable.
Zemu gantok was a good experience, for a first time hostel stay felt so cozy and relaxed.
The host was very supportive, most travelers reach here with no itinerary for the first time to Sikkim, but they do make it happen here !!.
Everything was great. Hotel was not too far from MG road. We could walk up and down on a good day. The view from our windows was good too. Every thing was very convenient. And the best part was the breakfast. Don't miss it !
