We didn't stay in the town which looked to be very busy but stayed at a resort which was located in a secluded valley outside the town. We did stay a few days in McLeodganj but it was too crowded and full of traffic pollution.

Dharamsala is a sprawling, working town in a very beautiful part of India. Unfortunately, the town does not match its surroundings and has little to offer the essential traveller. We went to watch Test match cricket in what is an impressive location but I would suggest that if the ground wants to hold more Test matches and T20s, then more investment needs to be made in the town itself in order to attract overseas visitors.

Dharamshala is a city in Himachal Pradesh that has a lot of attractions and natural scenery. It is the residence of the Dalai Lama and the center of Tibetan culture. It is also a place for spirituality, peace, and rejuvenation. It has two parts: the lower Dharamshala and the upper Dharamshala or McLeodganj. Some of the places to visit in Dharamshala are Dal Lake, Kangra Fort, Jwalamukhi Devi Temple, Tea Gardens, Bhagsu waterfalls and none but the least is the Dharamshala Ropeway

The traffic is poorly managed. The central part should not have ANY traffic, as is true of most European countries. There were NO pavements, and the roads were mostly too narrow to allow the vehicles, animals and humans to navigate in comfort. As a result, we could not go out for a leisurely walk - all we could do was to go from our hotel to the specific site that we planned on visiting, and back.

Dharamshala is good for the salubrious climate and a picturesque place which affords a breath-taking view of the Dhauladhar range of mountains. It has a lot of Tibetan monasteries and shops selling Tibetan food, products and medicines.
There are 4 shakthi sthals situated in the vicinity of Dharamshala. The Chinmaya tapovan is another worthy visit
This is the fake Property shown on Booking.com, When we reached the Property, the owner of property says they have not contract with Booking.com and they have not any booking for us. The Contact number of property given on the site is always switched off.
This was very Bad experience with booking.com. After suffering allot, finally I have spent double the money to book another offline Hotel because when calling to booking.com there is waiting of 10 to 15 minutes to take call and giving no resolution.
Intents of the staff was definitely worth appreciating. They are ever ready to do whatever best is within their capability. Though I felt staff is relatively less trained and new.
We also found taxi service a good experience. 2-3 drivers who served us were very good.
Hotel was very neat and clean.
Food was definitely good. Whatever we ordered met or exceeded our expectations.
Special mention for their effort to meet our expectation of local cuisine. We liked it.

Best staycation experience - Outstanding service was provided to us consistently throughout our stay. The location is stunning and the views are amazing!! The room with beautiful view of the mountains from balcony was mesmerising. Restaurant has always been the best - with plenty of food choice and the best hospitality. I highly recommend this hotel.
