Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place.
Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place. Would go outside, do whatever I went out to do then back inside to lie under the fan. Heat rash turned to bumps and cuts. Light, cotton kurta would be wet by the time I returned.
Ayurvedic massage, a coffee shop, walk to the beach, buy clothes. There are things to do if you look. In an ancient spice trading Capitol, breakfast was varied, then it was too hot to eat.

A very classy nice restaurant.
A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you.
I took at first a tartare, the beef was excellent. With that I took a glass of the local red wine. Somewhat surprising, it does not taste like anything I have already drunk, but I kinda liked it.
Then I took a marbled steak with homemade French fries and homemade ketchup (!). No word to say that it was awesome.
The service always with a smile and very patient with us.

My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of...
My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty and charm of this historic city.
Exploring the streets of Fort Kochi was like stepping back in time, with its colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant culture. The Chinese fishing nets along the waterfront were a sight to behold, especially during sunset when the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The intricate artwork and historical artifacts inside were truly impressive, offering a glimpse into Kerala's rich heritage.
I also had the pleasure of indulging in some of the most delicious seafood dishes I've ever tasted. Whether it was fresh fish curry at a local eatery or a traditional Kerala thali at a family-run restaurant, each meal was a culinary delight.
The warmth and hospitality of the people of Cochin further enhanced my experience. From the friendly smiles of shopkeepers to the helpful advice of locals, I felt welcomed and at home throughout my stay.
Overall, my time in Cochin, Kerala was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, and flavors of southern India.

Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places...
Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places all around. At least a 3 day trip to experience all faces of city and satisfy your taste buds.
Great for people looking to experience beach life, back waters and some good resorts and food.
Only thing to be considered is the weather while travelling and trip to pre planned.
Was last in Cochin in 1986. Fort Abode was a pleasant surprise. Located close to a good coffee shop, fish restaurant (Fusion Bay) and bar with Heineken (Frances). Large air conditioned room with a closet cabinet, desk and luggage table. The staff (especially Sam) were helpful arranging transportation and for an overnight houseboat ride starting and ending in Alleppey. We stayed at Fort Abode 6 nights at the start of our Kerala stay and one night at the end.
The location is amazing, right in the centre of Fort Cochin so you can walk everywhere very easily. The hotel is beautiful, very well decorated with interesting art and decor pieces. It is very peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle just outside. The reception staff were incredibly helpful - I had a minor injury while I was there and they could not have been more helpful and kind in looking after me.
I've been coming to India for over16 years. This was the best hotel I've ever stated at. The duty manger Krishna went above and beyond to help me and was an absolute delight to deal with. In the kitchen SARUBH went risky out of his way to find me more soy milk for my coffee and really impressed me with his attentive nature.
Very good Location. Easily accessible through Cochin Metro. Superb service and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Ava Lounge and the ambience in the rooftop restaurant are fabulous. (I personally feel that the potential of the rooftop restaurant is not completely exploited by the Hotel.) Worth every penny you spend!!
The location is good, but the hotel is very rustic and very expensive compared to what you get nearby. I struggle to recommend this hotel berceuse of this. From a comfort perspective you could stay in a 4/5 star and Uber 5 to 10 mins to get to this area. Doing so would probably be best for most people.
We booked for 1 night and extended 1 more night at hotel pearl palace. The food at the restaurant was really tasty.Hot water for shower was available. Location is in the city centre. Manager was very helpful and supported us in booking taxi with driver to Kovalam.
Love everything about this hotel, I have been before and it is on my top hotel list for sure. In fact, I am returning this weekend as I am still in India. Amazing atmosphere, very clean, awesome location. The cottages by the lazy river are just the best
The view from our room is amazing. The rooms are exactly as shown online. The facilities were top notch. The staff were incredibly helpful. The security check when checking in made me feel very safe. This was the best hotel I have stayed at in Kerala.
The owners were incredibly helpful and made our trip all the better. they saved us a lot of time and got us really good rates for excursions. For someone on a budget this is the best place we have stayed in our 2 weeks backpacking in south India.
Best budget friendly stay in cochin, loved it every bit.Great staff to help whenever required.Warm welcome by the staff.Room is clean with all the mentioned amenities. I definitely recommend this hotel in Cochin for stay.
This is my third visit to this hotel with family and I feel it is best for families. The management entertains family bookings and we always feel homely and safe here. The Staffs too is very coperative
Everything worked! This is the first time in India that I have been able to say that. A proper business hotel with extreme attention to detail. Fantastic staff. Clean! Underpriced. Comfortable.
Hotel is located in centre of the city and easy to reachable for any location. New and clean hotel with great breakfast . Staff service is exceptional. Recommended anybody visit to Cochin.
