Elm Grove, hotel in Schull

Set in Schull, County Cork region, Elm Grove is located 24 km from St Patrick's Cathedral, Skibbereen. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi.

The spacious room had a wardrobe/cupboards on each side of the comfortable double bed which made organising our things very practical. No kitchen access or breakfast included but a variety of beverage options and bonbons were available, and Schull is just a few minutes walk away. The hosts were a lovely couple, friendly and trusting, and gave us the space we needed. We felt entirely 'chez nous' at Elm Grove.

Was told by a local publican ( D’altons - tell Rory Gerry said Hi !) that this hotel was taken over 2 years ago. If so they have got it right …friendly welcoming professional staff, great food, great location on the edge of the small self contained village. Parking free opposite hotel, leisure facilities first class alongside pool, sauna etc. Restaurant and breakfast well worth the additional cost of the self contained apartments attached to hotel where we stayed. You could not fault it …only 20 mins from must see Mizen Head, the local village of Schull has everything you need, great food, great coffee shops, hostelries, and a variety of other galleries etc., tidy safe harbour village, we’ll worth the six hour drive from the North to get there …a hidden gem …I’ll definitely be back …

A lovely little place for a Christmassy weekend away.

A lovely little place for a Christmassy weekend away. Great walks round the coast and up Mount Gabriel. Lovely pub called Hacketts, the crab sandwich there is amazing, perfect for winter to sit by the open fire. Also there are some great little independent gift/homeware shops in the main street.

I used to come here as a child and we used to stay in the caravan park. It was a trip down memory lane. What’s not up love about Schull. The pier walk is great. There are also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in Schull. The scenery is great. We didn’t get a chance to go to the planetarium this time but it’s on our agenda for next time.
