It is literally a place to stay near the ferry port but nothing else. Get there just in time to go to bed and get up and leave for the ferry. Overpriced in my opinion but that is just my opinion. Would I stay here again …. NO

I was transiting by the ferry to England and arrived and left in the dark. I had one day in the area and went to Johnstown Castle and grounds which is not far away. It has recently been opened to the public. I wish the weather had been better so that I could have gone to the beach at Rosslare. Wexford town is close which was interesting to explore.

We had a good trip however two days before we sailed we received a text message from Stena line indicating the outward sail was cancelled. Advice was to go to Irish Ferries departing from Pembroke docks. This caused a great deal of inconvenience as both ferries were difficult to contact to re-arrange passage. Irish Ferries told us we needed to contact Stena Line before they would honour our booking. Then in the evening we received another text from Stena indicating that problems were resolved and the outward journey was on schedule. We were traveling from Kent and had arranged overnight stay in Fishguard so having to get to Pembroke was inconvenient especially when it all changed back to Fishguard!! Difficult to trust Stena line in the future.

Rosslare is the very South East Coast of Ireland and one of the main ports into Ireland - Road improvements are happening and development of the port. Surprised to see the supermarket close so early in the summer months .

I love Rosslare.
I love Rosslare. It’s famous for being a harbour town but it’s so much more than that. You have Rosslare Strand not far away (and the beautiful Curracloe Beach a little further afield), Our Lady Island, Enniscorthy (the site of the famous Vinegar Hill rebellion led by Wolfe Tone in 1798) and Wexford Town - so much to see!
All the staff were really lovely to deal with, Reception, Night porter / concierge, bar staff. There was a major problem with car parking at Rosslare Harbour and the hotel allowed me to leave my car at the hotel for a few days and also helped me to contact a local taxi service, which I used for the 10 km or so trip to the harbour. Very nice bar food. Quiet location and I could easily have gone to the beach if I'd had time. This is a stretch of coast with beautiful beaches.
Everything, proximity to rosslare port
But , the room was great for our stopover ( myself and two doggies)
En-suite, kettle , and Nickie gave me fresh milk for Irish tea 🫶🏼
There is even a dog friendly breakfast room , sadly left to early to avail . Doggie treats on arrival too
It’s the little touches that make a stay . Safe parking and space to walk pets .
Can’t complain about anything, and even usb points in sockets , great for me , I forgot my Irish usb plug , so excellent
Location was on main road to ferry port, so ideal.
We were given the room near back which was lovely and peaceful. Beds comfortable.
Hostess had a guests dining room with lots of lovely goodies so we could fix our breakfasts, being that we had to catch early ferry....excellent service.
The friendly-upbeat attitude of the receptionist created a very good first impression. The room was cosy and clean, breakfast enjoyable in a relaxed and comfy atmosphere. The hotel seems to be run very efficiently, yet fuss-free.
Overall excellent from the hospitality shown to us by Chris and Eileen (lovely people!!!!) Spotless clean with comfy beds. Outstanding food. Set in lovely grounds. I prefered staying here than at the Talbot Hotel Wexford!!!!
Beautiful home, comfortably and stylishly furnished. Like staying in a bijou boutique hotel but with the natural hospitality of Paula and Mick.
Great location for exploring south Wexford.
Perfect location for ferry port - 2 min drive. Nice old house with large rooms and decent size shower. Tea making facilities. Jonathan was very helpful when we arrived late - thanks!
