The B&B was a quick 5 min walk to the pier where we were able to catch our boat to the Skellig Islands. The place was clean and updated. The bathroom was a ove expectations with a great clean shower with wonderful water pressure. Tina was a great host and the breakfast was terrific. A choice of hot food to order and a tasty continental bar.

Perfect place for visiting Skellig michael
House was so clean we met the owner briefly she was so nice. There's lots of cooking staples in the cupboards amd milk in the fridge my daughter was delighted with the chocolate bars. There was even a lovely loaf of brown bread left for us. The photos are the view from upstairs bedroom.

The location was terrific. A very easy 5 minute drive down to Portmagee, so it made a great base for Skellig Michael. The accommodation though on the small side was clean, and the bed very comfortable. The Kerry Cliffs next door really were spectacular, so it was a great bonus to have a pass to visit them.

We were so happy to have found this place. The apartment has everything you could think of needing and in a stunning location. We brought our dog and it was a dream dog friendly accommodation. We were even able to bring our dog to the kerry cliffs with our free passes. Dying to return here again!
I loved Port Magee. I did a landing tour on Skellig Michael. It was the high light of my 2 week Ireland trip. Port Magee is a nice little harbor town with friendly helpful people. Don't stay at Stonechat. We had no hot water and no linen on any of the beds. We had no help from management til the 3rd day. We left 2 days early.

Fabulous quiet cottage with original features and a view to die for. The sunsets were incredible. Unfortunately the name has been changed and no one in the area knows the new name so it took ages to find it. The new owners need to put a name on the gate.

A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby.
A small fishing village with beautiful scenery nearby. Parking could be an issue in hi-season, There are scenic boat trips around the islands and can be booked at the hotel. Off-season is quieter but no live music.

Easy access to tourist options.
Easy access to tourist options. Cliffs of Kerry are on private property on the outskirts of Portmagee and entry cost was 5 Euros per person - good views and a bit of a climb from the car park.
The Skellings chocolate shop was great. You can try many samples of different types of chocolate before buying.
Many people travel to Portmagee for the 45 minute boat trip (one way) and landing on Skellig Michael. Landing is weather dependant - and not guaranteed. Puffins are adorable and plentiful. Guide at top of the steep 600+ steps climb up to the beehive huts was informative. Toilet facilities only at the arrival point to the island.
Brayhead Tower is over the bridge on Valentia Island with fabulous views out to sea towards the Skelligs and cliffs of Kerry. Car park is paid by a 2 Euro coin only. It is a LONG walk to the tower.
Tetrapod trackway is free, difficult to see the tracks but fabulous views. The slate works are close to the Tetrapod trackway but visitor information is limited.
We ate both nights outside at "The Fishermans Bar & restaurant" in Portmagee. Service is good and friendly. They serve fresh fish caught that day and it was delicious.
The smalll supermarket is not well stocked with pre-filled rolls/sandwiches and appears to have limited supplies - suggest you shop at Cahersiveen or Sneem if you are self catering.
This was our second time staying in this place i 3 months time.Like coming home!Cozy place with very welcoming owner.
Eggs in the fridge for a breakfast, comfy bed, after long day traveling from other part of Ireland.Free tickets to Kerry cliffs in the morning.Chuppi, our dog,was second time there and felt like home directly. Thank you,Marie!
You are Fantastic. Looking forward to come over again, because we love Co.Kerry and your place😊
We had a great time in Portmagee and the surrounding area.
The apartment is in the perfect location to be walking distance (2 minutes) to the pub/restaurants in town while also being close to all of the sights and walks around.
We also travelled to nearby towns over on Valentia Island and also over the other side of the Kerry Cliffs.
There is a nice view from the kitchen window down onto the bay.
And you’re very near the Skelligs!
This was by far my favorite place to stay on our vacation. It is outside of town on a very quiet road. I took a walk and watch some sheep. The hostess was very accommodating. We had a very nice conversation with her. It is an apartment and it seems she thought of everything. She left some food in the refrigerator so we were able to cook our breakfast. If I am ever back in Portmagee, you can bet I will return here!
You can't get closer than this place to where you need to be for the Michael Skellig Experience. Conveniently located and spacious. This place was a lot of room for my daughter and me. It was a luxury to be able to wash our clothes in the washer and dryer. The shower was great. Plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable. It was great to relax in this home in Portmagee. I highly recommend staying in this place.
Spacious room, comfortable beds, kettle and fridge for groceries. The best shower pressure and the best bathroom ever in Ireland (we stayed in seven places). The ideal location of the cottage (all tourist destinations in Portmagee and Cahersiveen are wonderfully achievable by car/bike). The owners were very kind and helpful to us. Helped with everything we asked for.
Very comfortable clean property with everything provided. There is plenty of free parking and wifi The key pick up was very easy we were met by the host Paula who was very helpful with local information regarding eating out parking and local facilities. This property is ideal for anyone visiting the Skelligs, touring the ring of Kerry or for hiking/cycling holidays.
The location was convenient. Our host was attentive to our needs.
Best drinking water in Ireland; also best shower. They have a 22:00 noise curfew which we found refreshing.
There was Coffee and Tea in the room and a small table with nice chairs and a refrigerator in the hall where we could keep a few items.
The accommodations were spotless, the proprietors were kind and a pleasure to converse with. They provided a helpful annotated photocopy map of the Skellig ring and ring of Kerry with recommendations taking into account our time constraints. And, what a view for our delicious breakfasts! Great pancakes!
We loved the location across from the marina in Portmagee. It was great to have an easy-to-use washer and dryer. Also, we had a chance to meet with Gar and he provided good tips about what to do in the area when our trip to Skellig Michael was cancelled because of large swells.
Stayed one night before skellig tour. We found this place to be our favorite stay in Ireland so far! Very clean. Provided us a personalized snack basket and water bottles. Breakfast room was lovely. Absolutely adored the decor. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
Excellent location for portmagee and surrounding areas. Literally a few hundred metres from local pubs.
Very tasty breakfast, cooked fresh and to order. Tina was happy to arrange our breakfast time to suit our early departure also.
The giant windows overlooking Portmagee harbour was spectacular. The landlady left us yoghurt, milk ,coffee and tea in the room. It was just so welcoming :) We had a lovely dinner in the local restaurant, the Moorings.
Fantastic accommodation to stay near Portmagee and Valentia Island. Easy to find and parking available. Friendly owner who gave us useful advice about the area. Clean room and toilet. Nice views from the room window.
Lovely stay!
We loved the charming village of Portmagee.
This lodging is across from the departure Harbour for Skellig Michael.
Our room was clean & comfortable.
Our hosts, Judy & Mike, were friendly & helpful.
Great place! Conveniently located just outside of town! The room was large and the bed was very comfortable the views were great! The staff was very friendly. A perfect place to stay when visiting Portmagee.
Spectacular location! Nestled in this beautiful green village Portmagee. I loved everything about this village. Very warm and helpful people. Great place to stay for Skellig tours.
We had a great room with a complete breakfast. The view is amazing and I highly recommend. Big parking lot. The stay was attentive and caring. It was very close to Portmagee.
This little apt was great ! Suited our needs & the hosts of the property were great , 5 mins out of the village of Portmagee were the Skellig Islands Tours sail from
