Small, busy university town. Varied restaurant types.

Small, busy university town. Varied restaurant types. Italian pizzeria Falò and Indian restaurant recommended. Well served by public transport to Dublin and the airport. There is much more to discover about Maynooth than meets the eye. If you are interested and have time, ask and you will be pleasantly surprised!

I wasn't in Maynooth as a tourist, I was visiting family. But I know it is a very nice place with good restaurants and interesting places to visit in the vicinity. It is also not too far from Dublin city.

The location on the advert suggested it was in Maynooth. It wasn’t. Very frustrating to not have supplied an eircode for travel to the accommodation The dirty toilet and scruffy tattered blind did not enhance our visit.

The owners were extremely helpful, informative, polite and hospitable. They went out of their way each day to check on us and see if we needed help seeing the sights of Dublin. They were very warm and caring.

There is so much to see and do in Maynooth and within a few minutes drive. It is one of those hidden gems that most people don't know about. We did a castle tour and our OPW guide was so knowledgeable. We visited St Patrick's College which is just so full of history and has wonderful gardens and ivy covered buildings. A short drive from Maynooth (<3 miles) we saw Connolly's Folly (The Obelisk), Carton House, and Castletown House and Parklands where we had another OPW tour after we strolled through the tree trail and gardens. We had a pint in the Roost. We had wonderful meals in several local restaurants. We took the train into Dublin. The Train Station is just across the street from the Hotel - so convenient and such a nice train ride. We did some necessary shopping in Maynooth and found everything that we needed walking distance from the hotel. We enjoyed the small town charm of Maynooth with the amenities we wanted.

Unfortunately we did not stay long enough to explore Maynooth and had a short walk in the town the evening we arrived. It seemed lovely and there were some bars and fast food outlets near the campus and our stay at campus itself was not disturbed in any way by it's closeness to the bars, it was a very peaceful location.

Not sure about the romantic ?, as we travelled as 3 friends 😃, The hotel was fantastic, beds were comfortable, we asked for a room with walk in shower and we got one, so clean food excellent, staff were so helpful as I have arthritis and our friend has MND, everyone went above and beyond to help us, excellent service for the 3 nights start to finish.

This was a beautiful house in the Kildare countryside. It was so peaceful. The room was old style with big windows and a very comfortable bed. Jim was a friendly welcoming host. We were attending a wedding in Barberstown Castle and Jim gave us a lift over (approx 10 minutes by car) which we appreciated so much.

Perfect location in Maynooth. Very clean room and I felt safe in the facility. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. I loved all the accommodations in the kitchenette that was included as well. I will definitely be staying at this location again when we are next in Maynooth.

This property is very unique — property within Maynooth University campus, old building, next to the castle ruins. My son has just finished his education abroad program there. We visited him and toured the campus before returning to the US. The room was clean, very spacious, and quiet at night.

Breakfast had no option for toast which was very strange and when we requested brown toast we were sent two slices of brown bread that were cold and hard. There was not even one piece of butter. I have never once in my life stayed at a hotel where there is no toast. Very strange.

We booked there because the hotels availability was scarce. This hotel was generally out of our budget, but we had no choice. With that said, they did a great job and it is an incredible experience at this hotel based on the history of the hotel and the previous ownerships.
