Location of the cottage is excellent near to the center of the village and just around the corner from a well provisioned grocery shop (and coffee dispenser). Its also a stones throw from the lovely Keel Beach so easy to walk to from the house for an early morning or late evening stroll. The house itself was well provisioned with a nice kitchen and three double bed rooms. The owner was very nice and made sure everything was perfect.

Keel is a beautiful place on Achill Island with amazing beaches stunning views peace & tranquility. The people are very hospitable & friendly. Lovely bar resturant Amesthyst where we dined and had the most delicious meal & drinks. Plenty coffee food trucks and lovely cafe called the Beehive. These were all within walking distance of where we stayed. You can easily cycle or drive around Keel & Achill Island. If you like sheep & baby lambs you won’t be dissapointed they are all over the island 🙂Keem beach is a few miles from Keel and we’ll worth a visit. It’s a little piece of heaven with amazing views aqua sea and golden sand.

    The scenery was unbelievably beautiful.

The scenery was unbelievably beautiful. I felt as though I were on another planet. The free range sheep are everywhere, so drive slowly. They ran right up to my car. There were several viewing points and benches. I wish I had planned more time during nicer weather, the hiking would be fabulous.

We were beyond impressed with the place. The owners met us on arrival and complied 100% with covid regulations We were shown to our suite The place was impeccable, Breakfast next morning was above 5 star.. Service was efficient and personal to a most impressive level. We were served tea and coffee in the garden after breakfast, which was most appreciated, giving us relaxation time on fabulous sun loungers. We had an evening meal , which was un-describable The food was superb, cooked to perfection. We had an amazing stay Will we return ??? YES. DEFINITELY 👍

Keel itself is only a small village without a real centre, but the surrounding countryside is wonderful, dramatic in all weather and a fascinating history. Within a few miles, there are wonderful beeches, hill walking and coffee stops. Surfers have easy access to supervised waters.

Loved everything about the cottage, it was equipped with everything we needed, beds very comfortable, lovely views of the sea and mountains. The location is perfect, a short stroll to Keel beach, the best pub across the road, close to shops and cafe a few doors down. Very thoughtful of Catherine to have scones and bread on arrival. Truly a home away from home!
