Wonderful location for exploring west cork. Sea views and privacy. The hot tube is a must. Doesn't matter if it's raining, that adds to the experience.

Lovely laid-back and peaceful location. The accommodation was fine if slightly old fashioned and reminded me of when I was travelling in New Zealand forty years ago

The spacious room had a wardrobe/cupboards on each side of the comfortable double bed which made organising our things very practical. No kitchen access or breakfast included but a variety of beverage options and bonbons were available, and Schull is just a few minutes walk away. The hosts were a lovely couple, friendly and trusting, and gave us the space we needed. We felt entirely 'chez nous' at Elm Grove.

Such a wonderful place to stay, close to town but quiet. The family running the lodge are lovely people and very friendly, along with their 2 dogs! 🐶😊

Breakfasts were delicious, though slightly limited on choice. Fresh strawberries and the only place on our DIY tour which offered mackerel. Our first night here, we each had a roast beef meal, and it was delicious, with loads of beef. Once we had changed to a Lodge, we were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Comfy and clean B&B with a very attentive host. The house was just at the back of town so easy walking distance to the town centre but super quiet and high enough for a good view! My gluten intolerance was catered for as well as our late arrival. Our room was cleaned every day and we felt free to enjoy the space like it was our own.

Stunning view from this b&b with a gorgeous garden to sit in with lots of flowers. Our room was on the ground floor and looked out onto the garden and the view. Would definitely recommend

A small village with a few pubs, eating places and a small shop. Goleen harbour is very small. Good base to travel from to surrounding attractions. Only 10 to 15 mins by car from fabulous Barley Cove Beach. Can tour to Schull and Bantry too.

The sea , the people , the eco friendly projects there . The shop is small but surprisingly has everything and even things you would not expect . Wandering the goats paths through the goarse bushes up over the sea was like being a child again . Breathtaking views

The cottage was very well presented and the communication from Sherri was excellent.
One negative issue was we could not lock the front door from inside so anybody could just walk in through the night!!

Great place to detox from the bigger cities.
Great place to detox from the bigger cities. A lot of nature orientated things to do that will take your breathe away. Definitely worth a visit.
Only downside was the public transport this time of year, few and far between due to lack of tourism so be careful when checking the timetable. Have to make your own way out to mizen head. Cafe closed till March was unfortunate but it makes sense.

Goleen is a lovely place with great food, really friendly people. You need a car to get around. We love sightseeing, so we drove out every day to Sheeps Head, Bantry, etc etc. Roads around Goleen are narrow and busy so would not recommend walking along them.

It's a small village but has three pubs, one serves excellent food and there's often music at the weekend in summer season. There's also a good cafe and restaurant.
There's plenty of accomodation to rent in and around the village. If you're self catering there's a well stocked village shop and a good butcher.
It's a good centre for exploring the Mizen Peninsula and surrounding area and there are excellent beaches nearby.
