Pleasant traditional hotel. Such warm welcome from the owner herself. Comfortable room with the most wonderful view over the water. On this specific day, I could see all the way out to the lighthouse. Nice breakfast. All and all a very pleasant stay, and a place I would like to back to.

The lodge was easy to find, the beds were really comfortable. The place was calm, we had a great night. It's hard to find a pet-friendly place, this one ticked all the boxes. The host also went out of his way to help us out when needed.

There were many things our family liked about Hookless Homes, but they are overshadowed by the things we didn't like. We didn't like the list of "required" things one had to do when one left ... there were posted lists of every item in the house from tiniest spoon to the sofa and the amount it would cost you if it was missing when you left. The thing was that that list didn't match the inventory ... like 6 spoons suppose to be in drawer but when we looked there was only 5 spoons ... plus we had to strip the beds and empty the trash in to bins "somewhere in the complex" behind a house number we could not find (no map) supposedly someone cleaned the house before we arrived but the wall light in one of the bedrooms was hanging loose and no one did any thing about it before we arrived ...

Fethard/Hook peninsula is a beautiful place.

Fethard/Hook peninsula is a beautiful place. Lots to see and do. I highly recommend visiting Loftus Hall if you're into getting a bit spooked. We stayed in Hookless Holiday Village and it was perfect and super value for money. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

Despite planning to visit Loftus Hall at the advertised time I was disappointed to find it closed for a private function at short notice. In fact it was going to be closed to the public until after Halloween Day. I was not in a position to make a return visit after that day. The owners don't seem interested in the ordinary visitors.

The beaches in the locality are great, all of them have their own qualities, they are all accessable and very well kept. There's a lack of good quality fresh food supplies in fethard itself, the Chinese restaurant Regent is very good but as Neville's bar has stopped serving food the nearest good bar food restaurant is Templars bar which is a bit of a drive to get to, but worth going to.
