We had such an amazing stay here at the weekend. The staff are so friendly, the bell tents are huge inside and warm. There's a playground beside it and our kids enjoyed hours of fun here. It is in a great location and has amazing facilities available with everything you could need. Such a special place, we will most definitely be returning, thank you so much for a lovely stay.

We didn't stay here due to a leak in our room but she did found us a room as your sister b&b on the farm. Her sister Mary was very accommodating and friendly.

We were on a flying visit, but I know the village as I grew up nearby. Unless the weather is appalling, it us a great place to go. Lovely quaint village with lots of walks, caves, boat trips & eateries. Ideal for families and couples & those with wee dogs.

There were many interesting sets from The Quiet Man movie, as a well as a Quiet Man museum with costumes and props from the movie. There were coffee shops, restaurants and pubs, and a variety of clothing and souvenir shops. Getting around Cong was very easy. Parking in town was a little difficult, but there are two car parks, one just as you enter town and one near the church.

If at all possible --- go to Ireland's School of Falconry!!
If at all possible --- go to Ireland's School of Falconry!! Yvonne and Tommy were excellent! It was an experience of a lifetime. The grounds of Ashford Castle are gorgeous!! And it was a great surprise to see the lodge used for Danagher's house as we were walking through the gardens to the School of Falconry. The Monk's fishing cabin is cool.
Of course, The Quiet Man sites were fun. Aran Knitwear is a lovely store. I wish they'd have a few Clancy Brothers-type cables, but the modern, sleeker ones are pretty.
Pat Cohan's was delicious for dinner and had a luxury menu at good prices. Nice specialty cocktails, too.
We ate at Danagher's pub for lunch and the beef stew was huge and tasty (if a little salty). It reminded me of my uncle's rec room in the 60s.
The Irish History bookstore (Rare & Recent Books) was worth visiting. Extensive collection, modern titles, great old books, books in Irish, children's books, too. The prices were good.
Everyone we met in Cong was friendly and had good info!

We loved Cong.
We loved Cong. It was a beautiful town and area, with a gorgeous ruined abbey, forest walks, caves, an impressive manor house, quaint stores... The food was excellent at the Crow's Nest, and we LOVED the live music by Stephen and Trish. The salmon at Lydon's Lodge was incredible. The porridge at the Puddleducks Cafe, delicious. We HIGHLY recommend the Irish History Bookshop on Main Street. The owner, Robert, a historian himself, was able to provide us with so much information about the area's archaeological history that interested us. From Cong we explored the Nymphsfield Standing Stones (hard to find, but super-cool), the Ballymacgibbon Cairn, Moyne Castle, and Annaghkeen Castle. Cong is also the perfect base for day-trips to the Connemara Penninsula, and to the Aran Islands.
Beautifully appointed home with history going back to the Guinness family. Large, comfortable room, sparkling clean, amazing and delicious breakfast, opportunity to meet guests from around the world. So close to the village, pubs, live music, trails to walk, the Ashford Castle, beautiful river. Was the highlight of our Ireland trip. Host Rachael is the best with delightful conversations and excellent referrals for places to eat, sites to see.
We marked a family special occasion with a weekend stay The Lodge at Ashford Castle, including our two red setters and border collie. The ambience and service were perfect, we enjoyed every dining experience at the Lodge and Castle - but the absolute highlight was our private hawk walk on the grounds with the Falcon School. We and our dogs felt so welcome, thank you to all the staff for making our stay wonderful.
Cong is a beautiful village with all its Quiet Man history but there's a lot more to it and Lydons Lodge was the perfect base, the room was plenty big for us (family of 4) and very comfortable. The staff are so friendly and welcoming it's like meeting up with old friends. Great breakfast and we also had dinner there which was fabulous. We cannot recommend Lydons Lodge enough, We will definitely be going back.
Located in the heart of Cong (Inisfree); connection to The Quiet Man"; staff went out of their way to accommodate requests.
A bonus was the bookstore between the hotel and the pub entrance. Anyone staying should make a point to see Robert Scott, bookstore owner, an historian with a wealth of information of the area and Irish history.
Excellent stay at Danaghers. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the bar is great. Cong is a beautiful place and Danaghers is a great base to explore it from, reasonably priced and good value for money.
We really enjoyed our stay in Cong. I would really recommend the Cosy Loft. A beautiful, warm & very comfortable apartment, very close to the village. Excellent facility. Sinead, Gary& family was very welcoming. I wish to thank them for welcoming us to there lovely apartment. We hope to return again
Great location for events in Ashford Castle and Cong. The house is spotless and has excellent covid compliance, we all felt very safe. Mary is so welcoming. The breakfasts were amazing and welcome tea and cake was greatly appreciated. Would have no hesitation recommending to anyone.
Ashford Castle estate, lodge, grounds are STUNNING! So were the staff at all locations - especially at the Lodge and the Drawing Room restaurant. We enjoyed walking the grounds and walking to/from the little town of Cong. Again, the team at the Lodger were awesome!
Our room had everything you needed and the shower was great. Loved breakfast. Martha was such a ray of sunshine in the morning. Cong is such a beautiful village with loads to do. You can get good food in Danahers and the Crowes nest.
The room and grounds are charming, walking distance to Ashford Castle grounds. Beautiful area that really is the epitome of Ireland. Mary could not have been more accommodating or friendly. We would love to stay with her again.
Lovely staff, Martha was so welcoming. So many personalized touches to make guests feel taken care of. Breakfast was delicious. We loved exploring the area around the b&b. One of the best places we stayed in ireland.
