The Olde Castle B&B, hotel in Cleggan

Situated beside the remains of Renvyle Castle, The Olde Castle B&B offers free onsite parking.

This was an excellent location with views to die for. It was quiet, the breakfast was great, the view from the dining room could not have been better and the staff were very welcoming. Parking was easy although some guests were very wasteful in the way they parked. The bathroom was very roomy. I’ve decided I don’t sleep well in a single bed, but for a twin share this was a very good room and it had lots of natural light.

Very small location, but very picturesque.

Very small location, but very picturesque. Ideally located to explore the surrounding area, including Clifden and Connemara National Park. Due to size of location only a small amount of local amenities but still very good quality.

The beauty and wilderness of Connemara is unsurpassed in all of our travels. Really allowed us to discover what Connaught had to offer. Was not lacking in any way, from coast to lowland and to mountains. Will never be forgotten!!

    Lovely town by the sea.

Lovely town by the sea. Beaches nearby and ferry options to Inishbofin. A few pubs to choose from and Oliver's a nice restaurant with seafood and other options. Food was lovely and staff were great. There is also a grocery shop beside it. Close to other attractions like Kylemore Abbey and Killary Fjord. Beautiful landscapes all around.

Cleggan is a nice fishing village but there is not a lot to do there, due to Covid I think one of the bars is not open and another is only open during the day we traveled into Clifden for better choice of restaurants

Lovely location - close to everything and in a beautiful part of the world! Lots of wonderful sights & beaches around. The apartment was 1st class, you could tell it was a new build - much better than staying in a 5 star hotel. Apartment was well equipped with pots, pans, a french press, cutlery etc. Tina & Liam were great. They provided tea/coffee, milk and even some scones .The scones were so delicious, we asked for more! The scones were definitely worth the money :) Would 100% stay again.

My room was warm, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The en-suite was clean with a good shower. Breakfast was great - lots of food and the Irish breakfast was perfectly cooked. Dinner in the pub was delicious. I had the fish pie. Everybody who works at Oliver's is warm and friendly and provides great service. Oliver's is not a four star hotel but it is extremely good value for money. I would be delighted to stay there again.

We had quite a few full Irish breakfasts while in Ireland, but the one at Cnoc Breac was hands down the best! Our host was friendly and welcoming, our room was roomier than most of other places we stayed, and the location was close enough to walk into town for dinner or to a nearby beach. Everything about our stay here was wonderful and we'd definitely stay here again if we make another trip to Ireland.

Tom and Mary were the perfect hosts, extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Tom was very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. The room was very spacious and spotless. There was access to the nearby beach and the B&B was in the perfect location for the ferry to inishbofin. It was also in the countryside that meant peace and quiet so it was perfect for a great nights sleep.

The place is ideally situated in Cleggan, a few minutes away from the port, where you can take the ferry to innishbofin and next to the beach. Eileen was an amazing host, always making sure we were comfortable. She prepared a delicious breakfast for us every morning and the house was very comfortable and clean, with an amazing view on the sea. Would definitely come back!

Breakfast was lovely - delish salmon & eggs! Location ideal, as I was looking to get the ferry to Inishbofin the next morning. Staff was so helpful, warm and welcoming - had dinner the night I got in...just wonderful. I've eaten at Oliver's during earlier visits to Ireland, but not stayed B&B before - would highly recommend, and will do so again myself.

Perfect B&B in Cleggan, feeling a bit at the end of the world in this small village. Our host was extremely nice and welcoming, the room was small but very cozy and comfortable (the bathroom was a bit small), the breakfast very good and with lots of choices. The location is really nice and quiet. We had a lovely stay.

Host was very friendly and helpful. I explained before arrival that it was our first anniversary and they provided flowers in our room. Room was very comfortable and clean. It was our first time staying in a B&B as we usually stay in a hotel and we will definitely be trying more B&B's after our stay here.

It's literally located on the pier of Cleggan, so very convenient to take a ferry to Inishbofin. Breakfast was served on time, which made us active throughout the day. The owners were also nice and knowledgeable about the region, they suggested a few good spots to visit in the Connemara region.

Very nice b+b. Cosy room and nice to have a communal breakfast table - although social distancing was adhered to and only a few people could eat at a time. Breakfast was excellent. I recommend the scrambled egg and salmon. Great place to stay in Cleggan.
