Beautiful idyllic setting, old world hunting lodge well maintained had been painted, lovely antique furniture in common areas and comfortable, bed room was tastefully and brightly decorated, fresh and clean family room. We had requested on same entrance level for my Mum who has limited mobility with stairs.

From my arrival to my departure I felt at home with Annaswood! My room was more than sufficient equipped with a desk, fridge, tea making facilities and ensuite bathroom with a shower. The shared seating area was the steal of the show with the apex window! Mountains, heifers and a cottage core garden - well up my street! Lovely quiet surroundings when I went for a short walk in the evening. A great cooked breakfast in the morning by Eleanor and some light conversation during this time. A short but enjoyable stay!
Set 300 metres from Cahir Castle, 4.1 km from Swiss Cottage and 15 km from Mitchelstown Cave, Cosy Apartment Cahir provides accommodation situated in Cahir.

We stopped in Cahir (pronounced "Care") because it was a convenient layover on a longer road trip. We were surprised by the beautiful and interesting Cahir Castle on an island in the river, with its extensive grounds and well-kept interior. The town is small-ish and not what I would call "bustling". Several of the shops were closed (maybe permanently) and the choices for places to stay or dine are quite limited. All said, I would recommend a stop for the castle alone - if it's convenient to stay the night, the Cahir House Hotel (possibly the only choice) is adequate, though long in the tooth and missing the grandeur it must have once been known for, and its attached pub is decent. We were awakened by the early morning drop-off (emphasis on the "drop) of many kegs outside of the hotel and the one other functioning pub in town just across the way.

I liked the Castle.
I liked the Castle. We had dinner in Galiloes and the Galtee inn. There were a few places closed(as in most towns) Annswood was only 5 minutes drive away. We did a lot of hiking while we were there. There are loads of trails to follow. I would stay there again. Eleanor also does BnB in her house as another option.

Cahir is an interesting town with many places to visit.
Cahir is an interesting town with many places to visit. I particularly liked my walk around the castle, the walk along the river to the Swiss Cottage and my visit to the local Anglican church. Cahir is also close to both the Galtee Mountains and the Knockmealdowns, both of which are excellent for hiking. Cork is about 45minutes away and Waterford can be reached in about an hour. I visited both and enjoyed them in different ways.

Nice and compact, with a very friendly vibe and plenty to see for a short stay. A great central location for the Tipperary and North Cork area. Places we ate and were really quite good. Dream Garden Chinese, the food was excellent and the owner was very attentive. MarBella Wood-Fired Pizza, is a take away van, excellence pizza and right next to the River Suir. Cahir House Hotel bar food was excellent and no nonsense.

The Swiss cottage was most interesting with a lovely tour of the building.
We had marvellous steaks/beef short rib in The Galtee Inn - couldn't have asked for better - friendly staff, good service, great food.
Drove across the V - marvellous views, marvellous walks.
We also went to Lismore Castle and Gardens - much more extensive and interesting than I'd expected.
We could have spent much longer touring in the area - plenty to do and see.
I loved everything about this place. The rural location suited me perfectly, and yet it is so close to the town of Cahir.
I originally booked for 2 nights and had to stay for a further two nights. Although the b&b was booked up, Eleanor put me up in the sheapards hut. It couldn't have been a more pleasant stay.
Very comfortable, the hut was divine with its outdoor area and also had an extremely comfortable bed, hopefully I will get to stay here again in the future.
Easy to find. Simple check in. Lovely comfortable and cosy cabin. Great shower and hot water on demand. Friendly hosts. Eleanor was very quick to get back to us re any messages. Perfect location if you are driving. Very close to Cahir with its beautiful Castle, park and river walk. Cahir farmers market on Saturday worth a visit for the cakes and treats. Lava brew also a gorgeous spot for brunch with some of the absolute best baking. Worth a visit!
This B&B was located in beautiful rural Cahir, just 5-10 minutes to town. The farm was very pastoral with cows, chickens and ducks, and beautiful views of the mountains. The accommodations were comfortable and a separate sitting area with large TV and refrigerator was available to us which made relaxing in the evening very enjoyable. Eleanor was so sweet and accommodating and made a great Irish breakfast!!
Unfortunately, breakfast was most disappointing. For the money paid, you didn't even provide Gluten free food, as I'm Coeliac.
No lift and with no ground floor bedrooms !!
An Item of my belongings of which I know I left behind in the room i stayed in, was then missing when I contacted to enquire about it 2 days after.
Overall, just a passable stay in Cahir house...
Located in rural Tipperary, a few kilometers from Cahir, this was a perfect place for our purposes, tracing townlands of Irish ancestors. Eleanor is a great host. She was very helpful and accommodating, and even traced down a traditional “jam” session for us - in Thurles- authentic and excellent, not a tourist show. Highly recommend this quiet, clean B&B
This is an absolutely beautiful and relaxing setting. There is a covered outdoor space for picnicing with gorgeous views of the countryside and the Galty mountains. Lovely perennial gardens surround the house and yard. We loved it there. Just what we needed after a busy week. Close to Cahir town, the Swiss Cottage and Rock of Cashel.
A traditional hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor. Comfortable bed, warm blanket. Nice large open closet. Nice, clean bathroom with towels and soap provided. Great location in the center of town and near the castle. Parking available in lot behind the hotel.
Breakfast available for purchase - a bit overpriced, but was good.
A beautiful hotel full of old world character. A perfect place just to cut off from the world. We had dinner in the bar, food was anazing. All the staff were so friendly. Didnt try out the pool, but we will the next visit. Breakfast was so nice had the full irish all local produce cooked fresh. Can't wait to return!
10 minutes out of Cahir. We were there on a Monday night and there only the Galtee Inn was open - something to consider if you need to eat! Driveway has been recently resurfaced - see comments in earlier posts!
The room was spacious with comfortable bed and large ensuite with shower. The staff, Mae, was very friendly, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was perfect and delicious. Great location, close to Cahir Castle.
Hotel staff are so friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were very comfortable and the food in the restaurant was AMAZING! We will definitely be returning again to this hotel
outstanding and beautiful lodge with a staff of quality people, all willing to help and make sure we enjoyed our stay. would recommend this lodge and restaurant to anyone visiting Ireland.
The hotel is in a excellent location and the staff were particularly friendly. The Breakfast was very nice and service was excellent. The room we stayed in was very good
Very quiet location. Close to Cahir, and the M8. Easy to get to with Google maps. Very clean. Great breakfast. Everyone was friendly. Friendly porch dog.
A welcome break from the routine of staying in hotels when travelling for work 😊. Nice change to wake up to a field of cows peacefully grazing just outside!
