Achill Sound was a perfect location for our family, not in the middle of the hustle & bustle of some of the very popular beaches but close enough to everything that was needed. We discovered a lovely beach at Dugort, went cycling on the Greenway and on the Island and eat at Achill Sound hotel. All good.

A great place with peace and great beaches.
A great place with peace and great beaches. Not for a crazy party weekend, as there are limited number of places available. Still, It is a great island for nature and some good romantic times. Great sunsets . Beehive restaurant was my favorite. Keem and Keel beaches are gems.

Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists.
Beautiful scenery, beaches, popular with cyclists. Friendly locals. Have only been to one village, other areas are more developed,, and popular tourist spots. The 450 bus service goes from Westport, to connect with train stops in the village, and goes through Achill Sound. There are taxis, but it may take a while to get one. Stop in Achill Sound Hotel for food, and friendly locals.

We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer.
We stayed for 2 nights but I wish we had longer. The beaches were gorgeous, we hired bikes and went touring one day, I did find the bike hire a little expensive but it was lovely to have the facility available close to our hotel. Keel and Keem are very busy at this time so we went to Dumh Eige and Doogart beaches instead. We ate lunch in Gielty's which was very tasty and there are lots of activities available on the island such as paddle-boarding, kayaking, walks etc.
The staff and all was excellent and helpful , friendly the hotel was cosy and warm and central to where we wanted to be ,wee enjoyed the chatter with the local people and handy car park clean comfortable convenient place to stay even the food was great value for money and tasty,we would definitely recommend it no rushing to get out in the morning great timing's had a wonderful nights sleep very good breakfast eat in and takeaway was given again Thanking you kindly.
Friendly Host with excellent local knowledge & undoubtable best B&B in Achil Island. Exceptionally clean room with great view of mountains at distance, very lovely. Very welcoming with welcome tea/coffee & snacks and Warm Reception by Brendan and Eileen. Hot Full Irish Breakfast severed in the morning. Better than a 5* hotel. We will definitely book again in future.
the location was FANTASTIC, you were right at the centre kind of junction so could easily spin out of achill to achill sound for supervalue, petrol, Westport, etc, and then 15 minute drives from all points of the island!
the lounge was fab, the fire was so cosy, the breakfast was great and the friendly hospitality made it.
We booked this house for a wedding that was taking place in Achill hotel. It was a great location for this. The view from the house is absolutely stunning and the house is extremely comfortable and modern.
It was really cosy and we wanted for nothing. There was plenty hot water and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very convenient location in Achill Sound with close proximity to Achill and Mulranny. The owners were very personable and responded to every need. The breakfast was excellent, fruit and cereal to start while your personalised hot breakfast was cooked to order. Would definitely stay there again.
Great location at Achill sound. Plenty of parking. Bus to westport and other stops on Achill 2 mins walk away. Property is spotless. Really nice jolly guy Alex looks after you if you need anything. Had a great comfortable nights sleep both nights. Cosy pub 1 minutes walk away. Perfect.
Very nice, clean, spacious, well equipped house. Close to Achill Sound which has supermarket, pub and restaurant. Cycle/walking path to Achill Sound just outside the door. Great communication from Stephen on arranging to pick up the keys, etc. Nice quiet location.
This is a lovely, tidy property with comfortable rooms. We appreciated so much that our bed had a flat sheet and our bathroom had a washcloth. Ann gave great advice about what to see on Achill Island and prepared for us a hearty, delicious breakfast.
Stayed two nights at this very nice hotel. It is ideally situated to tour around the wonderful sights that Achill have to offer. Staff were very friendly and the standard of food was very good. Overall a very nice place to stay.
