Belitung... a beautiful island that you should definitely visit! A real alternative, not just for Seychelles lovers. The UNESCO Geopark offers travelers endless picturesque landscapes and locations, from lush green natural paradises to breathtaking beaches. Belitung is not yet really developed for tourism and so a probably quite impersonal stay in one of the few large hotels would not have been an option for us. If you want to get to know the country and its people, the Tanjung Tinggi Cottage is a wonderful place for you! Idyllically located in the village of the same name, you will find the ideal starting point for exploring the island. Even before you arrive, the owners, Yoyo, and Askan, the cottage manager, are available to help and advise you on any questions you may have and you feel like you are coming home to good friends. On site you benefit from their willingness to help through explanations and insider tips about the island, free provision of bicycles, arranging good and cheap scooters, preparing breakfast of your choice and much more. No effort is spared to make guests' stay as pleasant as possible. It's not far to the nearby fantastic beach, Tanjung Tinggi, about 5 minutes by bike or scooter, about 20 minutes on foot. Belitung at Tanjung Tinggi Cottage - highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

Very spacious room in a quiet area of town. Motorbike rental can be arranged by reception. Good AC. Staff will do their best to help you, however, limited english sometimes. Comfy bed.

Not many mart or market for shopping but if you come to stay, relax and unwind from the hustle bustle of the city, the place is just nice!

- Batu Bedil (black granite rocks, mangrove forests and a secluded beach)
- Tanjung Tinggi (famous for huge rocks and being the setting for movie Laskar Pelangi)
- Island hopping (Pulau Lengkuas, Pilau Batu Garuda, Pulau Kepayang)
- Telok Limau Beach (fishing boats, very quiet)
- Pulau Bebilai (lovely stretch of sandy beach, secluded too)
- Tanjung Binga (fishing village)
- Bukit Perahu (resort and restaurant with yummy pisang goreng)

A bit far from the city center, around 45 minutes ride/...
A bit far from the city center, around 45 minutes ride/ drive but it it still worth it to come and explore beaches here, the access to hoping island can also do from the nearest beach, Tanjung Tinggi. The hospitality of local people pretty impressive but need to improve choices of restaurants and rental motorcycle.
