Blue EmOcean resort, hotel in Moyo Island

Blue EmOcean resort is set in Moyo Island and has a garden and a bar. Free private parking is available and the hotel also offers a shuttle service for guests who want to explore the surrounding area....

Andrew has embarked on a passion project to bring this resort back from the almost dead and you can’t but admire the effort and ambition (and investment and sweat to do so). Moyo is already hard to get to, the motorbike from the jetty is 5km of diminishing quality and increased excitement (or anxiety depending on your mindset) but the remote pay off worth it - small pool, cold beer, nice food, great rooms (with gecko), private jetty and house reef, dive trips arranged, some kit available too.

Maleo was a great place to spend a few days.. Relaxing around the pool and lovely diner patio. Lot's of things to do on the island.. Beaches are a bit dirty.. Don't understand why they don't clean up the mess from time to time.. Recommend crocodile head for snorkeling, great spot. Food was great also staff.

Facing the seafront, Sunset Moyo Bungalows is a homestay offering a 1-star accommodation in Moyo Island. It has a private beach area, open-air bath and private parking.

Loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, great food and rustic toom. It was ‘ beachfront’ but behind the cafe and outdoor seating, so no view and curtains remained shit for privacy

Samawa Seaside Resort, hotel in Moyo Island

Samawa Seaside Resort is located in Tanjung Manangis, just opposite Moyo Island Sumbawa Besar. Surrounded by greenery and white sands, it offers private cottages with ocean views.

The property itself is very beautiful with the beach on one side, swimming pool on the other and lots of greenery all around. The rooms are very comfortable as well. Breakfast could have a bit more options and also some sweets. Otherwise they were able to cater to vegetarian diet and made some really tasty MI goreng. The cappuccino was excellent and a must try. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The resort is also tied up to reliable tour operators which make our tours easier.

The water was sensational - warm, clear and clean, which in turn means fish and coral. The island has limited electricity which means limited refrigeration and wifi ( AND tourists, there were 15 when we where there) but that just added to the charm. The local villagers were extremely kind and their knowledge of their natural environment is generally encyclopaedic. This is an extremely special place and we were very lucky to have the opportunity to spend time there. Drop into the markets in Sumbawa before you go and load up on fresh fruit and vegies ( these are in limited supply on the island). Also take plenty of cash the other attraction of Mojo is no ATM or banking facilities. Take photos and leave footprints.
