Sunset Guest House & Bar, hotel in Bunaken

Facing the seafront in Bunaken, Sunset Guest House & Bar has a private beach area and a bar. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.

Helmi and Yoke were wonderful, welcoming hosts who showed great care for their guests. Nothing was too much trouble, dive trip, transfers and oddball requests dealt with efficiently and with grace. The food was simply amazing. Great use of local resources to produce a local cuisine that was second to none on the island. Whilst largely fish or chicken based, every meal was different, and delicious. Fresh tastes, plenty of vegetables, cold beer and warm smiles. We had only booked one night, planning to extend but unfortunately we had to move as our room was already booked. No problems, Helmi and Yoke were only too happy to have us as casual diners, which ended up to be every evening meal for the remaining week we were on the Island. The rooms are quite spartan, air conditioning is coming, but everything is clean and well presented.

4 Sisters Divers, hotel in Bunaken

Facing the seafront in Bunaken, 4 Sisters Divers has a private beach area and a shared lounge.

I spend lovely three days here, the place is great. The Saff is amazing, very friendly, warm and flexibel. And the atmosphere was very familiar. And they cooked for sure the best meals ever! The little beach got always cleaned up, and i would recomend to take a walk on the island, near the beach. I enjoyed the snorceling with turtles very much!

Blue Shark Divers Bunaken, hotel in Bunaken

Situated in Bunaken, Blue Shark Divers Bunaken features air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. Guests staying at this homestay have access to a balcony.

Fantastic 5-night stay with Dion and his family, in almost-beachfront property within main Bunaken village. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, with private bathroom and a small sitting area with chair(s) and clothes drying rack, just outside my room, all within access to wifi internet. The beach, which is 25m away, is kept quite clean and a great place to unwind after the dives or before dinner. Three delicious meals are served at set times each day, the menu including rice/noodle, vegetables, and a protein meat/fish dish ... every day slightly different. Great setup to meet the other guests and get to know Dion and his family. I organized 8 dives with Dion's affiliated Blue Shark Diving shop, and each outing was very special. And lastly, Dion himself was very helpful in organizing the next leg of my journey ... he helped book reliable, clean private cars, and tours for my next trajectory to the Togean Islands. In summary, a very memorable stay. Thank you!

EL Homestay Bunaken, hotel in Bunaken

Located in Bunaken, EL Homestay Bunaken provides accommodation with seating area. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking.

We spent five nights at El Homestay as a group of four friends. Before arriving in Bunaken, I thought it would be too much time there, but once we arrived at El Homestay, we didn't want to leave.... It has been amazing staying here and experiencing Bunaken. There is a lot to do: snorkeling, diving, dolphins, sandbank, mangroves, visiting Siladen Island, hiking, renting a motorbike, and visiting the viewpoint. We can't wait to be back next year. Thank you Stefen + Family!

Island of Bunaken is very accessible on a short boat ride from Manado harbor. The island itself is very quiet, almost boring if you come looking for lively nightlife or bars & restaurants. The main attraction are the coral reefs, still relatively pristine with its marine life ecosystem ... let's hope that it can continue to stay that way.

The island is very beautiful, a place from which to go diving and snorkling. There is everything for everyone. Unfortunately, the plastic is at home in a national park! Tourist activity has started to destroy the coral reef in some places. In a few years Bunaken park will be only in name. It is a recommended place for those who practice diving, less a place to relax.

Dive operation Celebes Divers made me feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to assist my diving. At 78 years old and with a scuba career of nearly 50 years, Dive leader Ali and the other dive team members plus the boat crew did all they could to assist me in exiting the water, given my knee problems, by me doffing my equipment in the water, crew members lifting it up onto the deck, so I could climb aboard unencumbered. Dived an interesting Japanese freighter wreck sunk by the Americans in World War 2 and several reefs chock a block with fish & corals. Well done Celebes Divers staff!

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort.

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort. Don't even attempt to do this yourself. You have to love swimming, snorkelling and or diving to make the most of your stay. The resort is in the bunaken national park - so the sites are pretty amazing. There is a spa to enjoy after the relaxing dives. Food is great so no need to drag snack along. Not mush to buy - so make sure you have the essentials! Enjoy a fab experience!

Loved Bunaken, stayed one week on either side of the island in full board resorts which was good because both sides are so different. Many good dive boats/teams and great snorkeling from the beach or go out with a dive boat. The small town deserves some time spent there and next time I'd stay in town for a few days as well.

If you are looking at Bunaken as a holiday destination you are probably already aware of what an amazing place it is for diving or snorkelling, lots of healthy coral and sea life including turtles, rays, small sharks and a never ending variety of fish. It's quite a quiet location which is perfect if you are looking for peace. Bunaken is a very small island so there isn't a town where you can go partying or anything. you are likely to spend the majority of your time in the resort although you can go and explore a little if you wish.

Such a great experience. The lodge is located very close to the beach where the boat drops you off. The rooms are very comfy and have AC. Be prepared for a bucket shower! Dion is very friendly and helpful, the diving is very good value and the crew are kind and very good at their jobs. The best part for us was the food!! All three meals are included and the home cooking is really incredible and delicious, they should.open a restaurant! We miss it already Overall we highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again

A slice of paradise! This was simply one of the best combinations of accommodation and location that I have ever experienced. The hosts, Sarah and Paul, was so welcoming as were the other members of staff. The food provided was of an exceptionally high quality. The chalet was perfect and the coral reef accessed directly from the accommodation was in excellent condition with very healthy coral and a myriad of coral reef fishes. I Definitely hope to return and the not too distant future. If I could give this 100 stars I would!

pros: good food, i'm vegan and i could ask the kitchen to make the fried rice vegan, just use veggies instead of egg/meat. it's also near the pier where you can snorkel and see turtles, fishes and beautiful corals! the hotel is also run by a lovely family and near the 4sisters diver, where you can arrange your diving needs, including a certification course. AC and hot water work fine

Our family had a lovely stay at The Village Bunaken. We were tucked away in the mangroves which was perfect for reading books and relaxing. The snorkeling is awesome, and our children had a very good time learning about the aquatic ecosystem that surrounds the island. Highlights include the friendly staff, the cozy atmosphere and the afternoon tea time.

The location of the hotel is near the tourist port, in an area with many restaurants and for this reason it is noisy. The staff is very kind, the food is very good, there is a possibility of massage and transfer from/to the airport. There is also the possibility of carrying out some activities arranged by the hotel staff.
