The location is great, but since it is a budget accommodation, don't expect anything fancy. Apart from the weak wifi signal in our room, the stay was quite good.

When travelling I prefer to enjoy the place & mix with the people instead of hopping from one place to another spending hours in a car. Eating where they eat & shopping where they shop instead of “touristic” destinations. I walked around from the house to Ngarai Sianok then Jam Gadang. The weather cooperated throughout my stay, but the crowds were packed due to the town 29th anniversary celebrations.
Maybe visiting during mid year instead of monsoon & peak holiday seasons will give more time to enjoy the areas.
The costs are friendly to the wallet & even small food stalls around the areas are delicious & representing the traditional dishes.

About weather, Cameron Highland is 3x colder than Bukittinggi.
So ... if I were to make another trip in the future, I'd rather stay longer here while Padang is just a transit.

Amazing stay in a beautiful environment.
Unique and individual cottage design in a true jungle with monkeys, insects, birds and all sorts of sounds of nature.
Staff were very friendly and attentive, Rido and his team are like a family.

Hot water in bathroom is welcome as it can get cool in Bukittinggi.
Beautiful and comfortable rooms in traditional Rumah Gadang style buildings, located in the middle of the rice fields. The location is perfect, very quiet but just outside of Bukittinggi. And the views of the valley are absolutely stunning. The staff are friendly and helpful as well. Jaka is always close by to answer questions or take you on a trip to some of the local sites.
Great place to stay in Bukittinggi. Comfortable rooms, hot showers, free tea, coffee and water and a nice rooftop as well. Bayu who works at reception speaks great English and went above and beyond to help me during my stay with any questions I had.
Big room, nice bedroom, nice view, nice staff and easy late check-in at midnight as i need to travel from Padang to Bukittinggi around 3 hours. Near Jam Gadang. Breakfast is delicious and cozy atmosphere at the cafe.
