Culinary and food is the trend now.
If shopping is your main reason to go to bandung then you might get disappointed.
However if you are there for Nature, highland and family’s adventure, then very good place to go.
We spent most of our time outside bandung city.
Pangalengan ,puntang and Subang area was great.

A city I think that is over looked and should be explored, It has a cool vibe with laid back people who are very welcoming. The city has lots to offer with many markets, residents and bars. But to really explore Bandung you must get out and see the mountains which surround the city, go north to wander around the forests which are filled with tours, also go to the Tea fields and then drive to the top of the mountain to see the inside of a volcano. Then go south and see white crater were you can take amazing photos, you can also relax in the thermal hot pools.

The new airport (majalengka at Kertajati) is too far away. Spend more than an hour to reach the new airport. With a new high speed train from Jakarta Bandung known as WHOOSH; traveller should consider to depart/arrive from Jakarta.

To Bandung for the second time (first visit almost a decade ago). In short, it can describe today's Bandung, KOTOR. Garbage is strewn everywhere (especially in suburban areas), flies are flying everywhere, unpleasant odors can be found at almost every red light intersection, and most importantly food is less hygienic.
Looking at the history of the city of Bandung, which has existed for quite a long time in Indonesia, the government (region, city in particular) should be able to create a healthy living environment. Hopefully on our next visit we can enjoy the city of Bandung which is BIP (Bersih, Indah, Paten)

Stayed here in 2022 and chose the same hotel for 2024 personal visits. Although the staffs were friendlier back then but they are still helpful. Look a bit rundown than before but is still clean.
The reasons for coming back to the same hotel:
+ Comfortable bed and pillow!
+ The security: using Pullman's entrance
+ Value for money!! Very good facility and service at the price - incomparable to similar group of hotels.

I didn’t expect anything in the beginning with such budget price but after stayed, I think that this guest house must be the best in Java.
I have lived in Indonesia for decades and I know what the quality of budget hotels are in Java, which are normally very dirty and staff never care the guests after checked in. This guest house offers free Nescafé.. this was the first time for me to see the Nescafé in budget hotel in Java. ( Normally budget hotel offers local coffee only) Nice surprise.
Warm pool! It was so cold up in the mountain but the hotel really did give a good thought about it. The pool model was infinity and overlooking mountain so it was so breathtaking. Also at that much rate, they already gave bathtub in the room, while other hotels are shower so that was a good one esp while travelling with little children.
I got the best room ever! It was spacious, the AC was cold, the hot water was running smoothly, & the garden was BEAUTIFUL. The staff were very kind, polite, and dedicated event though they were so busy! I always stay at House Sangkuriang hotel whenever I travel to Bandung, & booking Siliwangi Room was the best decision ❤️

Its location at the main street of Braga, close to museum Asia-Africa, close to some cafes and restaurants. They have special event for dinner on weekend at the hotel frontside area (outdoor). The hotel has swimming pool for children at the rooftop. Strong wifi connection.
This is the best hotel in bandung city (if youre looking to stay in the city this is the best one) ofc there are airb&b homes up in lembang area but if you looking for a hotel in the city, this wont disappoint you.
The receptionist are so friendly! Nice spacious room and toilet, with elevator.
The hotel is walking distance to street foods, marts, and Rumah Makan Mimosa. Could be accessed by many roads.

I stayed 2 nights on a holiday with family. The location was great, in the hearth of Bandung.
Room, gym and breakfast were excellent but swimming pool was too small for a 5 stars hotel.
Overall was great.
All the amenities, the smells amazing! Size wise is enough for few days long traveller. Bed is new comfy, interior is neat. The wifi is bomb! Faster than ever kudos to marriot hotels standard.
