Lots of museums to visit. Wide variety of bars and restaurants. Airport a little far away and taxi drivers seem to charge a lot…..double the prices of an Uber.
Upper town is hilly, although there are buses and a funicular.
Lots of places to visit outside of zagreb, inc neighbouring countries
Pedestrian area in the centre can make it difficult for people with lots of luggage.

I was travelling alone and felt very safe moving around both during the day and in the evening out for dinner at local restaurants. The people speak many languages and English is spoken by most locals.
The food offerings are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The weather is changeable, so prepare for all seasons when out for the day!
Recommend Boban restaurant in the city centre.

The downtown was not as tidy as I would expect it to be—a lot of run-down houses. Croats are smoking everywhere outdoors and also indoors, I had a terrible time In public places where everyone had a smoke while I was just trying to have a meal or drink.

We all felt very safe in Zagreb, everybody was so kind.
We all felt very safe in Zagreb, everybody was so kind. Food was amazing. The trams were great and easy to hop on and off.
We visited the Lotrscak Tower one lunchtime and my god…..would recommend, it was brilliant. The museum of Broken Relationships was so interesting and so much to take away from this.
Our taxi driver back to the airport told us of the difficulties and sadness after the earthquake, the city is rising again and we loved it.
it was very Nice everything was clean the staff were very polite and always helpful especially:Leo,Dalibor, the hotel manager as well. The location was very nice. There is a train stop nearby as well as a bus stop from where you go 2 stops and you will get to the tram station and from there you can get pretty much anywhere to the city center. You can get a very nice breakfast at the property. The bar is also very nice you can get there awesome beer Karlovačko as well a great coffee and tea.
From arrival to checkout all the staff were very helpful, all greeted us with a smile and helped us along with our very small knowledge of the Croatian language.
The rooms were very comfortable, clean and of a good size.
The food and drink were of a good quality.
The location of the Hotel was excellent and had a very grand feeling to it.
A very short walk and you could be in the main square, with all the hustle and bustle of a major City Center.
This is a real boutique hotel in excellent location. The staff is amazing going way more than the extra mile to make you feel like you’re the most important guest. Excellent location about 10 minutes walk from all the actions in Zagreb. Breakfast was amazing with some cook to order choices on top of delicious buffet as well as traditional Croatian desert made by the owner and served hot from the oven
This is not a 5 star facility. It’s a 10!
Beautiful new hotel in a lovely peaceful neighbourhood. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean, the entire hotel looks amazing and it’s tastefully decorated. The best part of our stay was also definitely the staff. They are really kind and breakfast is lovely. There is a sauna but we haven’t used it and they have a terrace at the back with a view of Zagreb. If you want a boutique hotel experience and a peaceful stay, this is it.
This was simply a stopping off point for us after arriving in Croatia. We were heading out early the next morning to start our vacation in the Balkans. Perfect for one night, especially after traveling from the States for 30+ hours. Large, clean room. Very comfortable bed. Fast wifi and great shower. Much better breakfast than one would usually find for this type of hotel. What more could you want?
The staff at the hotel were all very polite and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is very close to the bus station, making transfers from the airport very convenient. The location is a little bit of a walk from the city centre but it does mean the surrounding area is quiet, whilst still feeling safe. The restaurant attached to the hotel makes amazing pizzas!
The hotel is located extremely close to the bus station and the team which takes you to the city centre. You can reach the bus station in 5 minutes by foot and the team takes you about 10 minutes to the old Town.
Breakfast was basic but sufficient. Staff at the reception was helpful and provided accurate information about how to get to the city center.
Value for money.
Great location. Basement room was spacious, clean and well equipped. I chose the hotel because it's just opposite the main bus terminal. I had to catch the airport bus very early the next morning. The lady at the check in desk was friendly. By taking several of the tram lines which stop there you can get very fast to the main train station or the main public square.
The hotel is a short walk from the railway station and also easy walking distance to the old city centre. Breakfast was superb, even champagne available. Unlike some other commentators, we loved the rather 'old-fashioned' decor, polished wood etc. Staff were helpful. Best hotel on an inter-rail trip through Europe.
Everything!
Amazing new hotel right in the city center, with incredible attention to details and exquisite design. I felt sad having to leave but will definitely come back again.
The restaurant was great, breakfast one of the best i’ve ever had!
Staff extremely helpful and kind.
We stayed in this hotel for the second time as it is in a great location, out of the city center and close to Medvednica. The place is like you walking into a historical museum. Each room is decorated differently and all in baroque style. We're surely coming back.
An excellent fit for those that like boutique hotels, as opposed to big hotels and hotel chains.
Great design and interior, the main city center is just a few minutes by foot away. Spacious and modern rooms with balconies overlooking the green garden
A boutique hotel - has a warm & welcoming ambience, located in a residential area but an easy walk to Zagreb old town. Close to bus station, tram stops. Room was very clean, bed comfy. Excellent breakfast spread, tasty, great variety.
The location is very convenient for me who relies on bus from Zagreb Airport and onward journey to other cities. It is convenient to travel to other parts of Zagreb as the tram stops are just outside the hotel.
Very modern and clean hotel in the city center. Breakfast buffet was excellent and included in the room rate
We also had dinner there on 2 nights! Excellent food for good value.
Location of Hotel 9 is near to city center but not exactly close by foot. Very close to business district. Everything is absolutely OK. Breakfast is nice and enough.
