Surprised at the choice of shops, cafes and restaurant’s,
Amazing amount of historical old buildings with ornately decorated facias.
Many others being renovated.
A wealth of museums, street art and places of interest to take in.
Visited quite a few different places, including vernacular train to the Upper town, visited ‘museum of broken relationships’ saw the sights in that zone - such as - St. Marks Church, George and Dragon statue, the gun tower, The Old tunnel gate and shrine etc.
Had an enjoyable walk around the botanical garden too in the area of the train station.
Found it to be very welcoming.
Had a go at using the trams, managed to get tickets at small street shopping booth to go up to a cable car to ride up into the mountain, managed to get there, unfortunately was out of order for a couple of days, but at least we got there.
Would need to visit Zagreb again one day, as this trip was a good start, but much more to explore.

We stayed in Zagreb for one night while travelling in Croatia. We did a walking tour of this walkable city and this was excellent and very informative. The upper town is gorgeous and well worth a visit, while the shopping in the lower town is great. The cathedral, tunnels, funicular and famous Madonna and Child icon were all beautiful.

Lots of museums to visit.
Lots of museums to visit. Wide variety of bars and restaurants. Airport a little far away and taxi drivers seem to charge a lot…..double the prices of an Uber.
Upper town is hilly, although there are buses and a funicular.
Lots of places to visit outside of zagreb, inc neighbouring countries
Pedestrian area in the centre can make it difficult for people with lots of luggage.

I was travelling alone and felt very safe moving around both during the day and in the evening out for dinner at local restaurants. The people speak many languages and English is spoken by most locals.
The food offerings are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. The weather is changeable, so prepare for all seasons when out for the day!
Recommend Boban restaurant in the city centre.

Zagreb I thought was just brilliant -so many beautiful buildings in the Lower Town and so many historical and cultural places to see in the Upper Town. You can walk everywhere though there is an excellent tram system in the city, great restaurants, and dome great public squares
Danijela is a lovely woman. Very fast response. Very detailed. Helped us with transportation to from airport. Her apartment was clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We were ideally situated to walk everywhere. The apartment is exactly how it looks in pictures. We recommend this accommodation over a hotel. The Croatian wine was a nice touch, and delicious. She greeted us upon arrival with a smile, and a welcome tour of apartment we were not expecting. One of the best hosts we have ever experienced.
The best thing about Hotel Croatia is its location, since it is just a walk away from the centre of Zagreb. There is also a bus station nearby, which provides access to multiple places within Zagreb in just a few minutes.
The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and spacious when compared to other hotels.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for young couples like ourselves, who are looking for a good and clean hotel at a very reasonable price, while also being in a very good location.
it was very Nice everything was clean the staff were very polite and always helpful especially:Leo,Dalibor, the hotel manager as well. The location was very nice. There is a train stop nearby as well as a bus stop from where you go 2 stops and you will get to the tram station and from there you can get pretty much anywhere to the city center. You can get a very nice breakfast at the property. The bar is also very nice you can get there awesome beer Karlovačko as well a great coffee and tea.
The whole hotel has a modern design and is well thought through but not boring at all.
Rooms are great, the bathtub in the spacebath room is worth the upgrade and is big enough. Breakfast delicious with fresh pressed juice and various selections for all needs. Pillows are comfy and the shower amenities smell nice. Everything is sparkling clean. No noise from outside. Rooftop has an open pool area with a bar.
We loved everything about Hotel Republika! It’s location is perfect, situated in a very quiet and park-like setting, yet a close and charming walking distance to the city centre. The apartment is large and very comfortable, well organized with everything we needed. And most importantly, the staff who was very friendly and welcoming! I just wish we had stayed longer. It must be magical during Christmas time.
This was simply a stopping off point for us after arriving in Croatia. We were heading out early the next morning to start our vacation in the Balkans. Perfect for one night, especially after traveling from the States for 30+ hours. Large, clean room. Very comfortable bed. Fast wifi and great shower. Much better breakfast than one would usually find for this type of hotel. What more could you want?
The Hotel Central is conveniently located in the center of Zagreb right across the Main Train Station and the Art Pavillion, a short 10-minute walk to the Ban Jelacic square and the old historic town. The hotel is right next to the tramway stop which leads to the Main Bus Station, and a bus shuttle to the Airport. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Very happy with my stay.
We had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect. The hotel was close both to the bus station and the city center as well. Easy to go to airport. The staff were more than kind and helpful. The room was spacious and the light was great. Definitely recommend it. We have absolutely nothing to notice or to complain about. An ideal choice.
Happy with our stay, it was up to a level you’d expect from a Hilton hotel. The room was comfortable, newly furnished and clean. We liked the breakfast selection as there was quite a large variety to choose from. They offer paid parking in a garage or a parking lot as well, which is convinient being so close to the city center.
The apartment is located in city center and within walking distance to everything I needed to visit. I love the small kitchen and working desk, it makes the space much more usable compared to a hotel room. Everything was clean. The owner responded immediately to a phone call when I had a question.
We loved the gym and spa at this hotel, the spa area was lovely, gym small but had what we needed. The surrounding area had lots of bars and restaurants, nearby supermarkets. The tram stop was around a 5 minute walk, you could walk into the city centre but it was probably half an hour walk.
The hotel is conveniently located. Quick access to the city center and ideal location for further travel in Croatia. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking spaces at the hotel. Good breakfast and four-legged friendliness. Highly recommend!
Business small hotel with nicely decorated and comfy rooms almost across the Bus station. Good connection with the city center by tram but not within reasonable walking distance. Staff helpful and kind. Perfect for business travelers.
Beautiful hotel in the city centre, tasteful interior design, friendly and helpful staff, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I recommend using the parking service. The cost of parking in the centre is higher.
This hotel is conveniently located close to the airport, making it a good stop off point after a late flight before an onwards journey. Overall it felt safe and the staff were helpful, and the breakfast was delicious.
Easy to drive from there to the city centre.
The hotel itself is simple, but well maintained. Don't expect luxury or a refined decoration, but on the other hand, you will get a good accomodation for a decent price.
Modern and good looking hotel. Great spa area.
Very comfy beds, shower and bath in the room, bathtub was decently big. Clean. Good service, very easy check in and check out. Access to city center by tram.
The staff were just wonderful really made my stay. incredible big breakfast, really comfortable room and great location. make sure you get the hotel to arrange your transfer from Airport much cheaper
Very easy to find - a max 5 min walk from the airport bus main stop.
The hotel is new, clean, and quiet.
The staff speak english and are very helpful.
Breakfast is good.
Exceptional new Hotel in the city centre. Big and well designed room.
One of the best breakfast my wife and I ever had in hotel.
Very polite and kind staff.
