Hotel Kimen, hotel in Lubenice

Located right on the beach and about a 10-minute walk from the Old Town of Cres, Hotel Kimen features a sauna. Activities include tennis, hiking and cycling, diving, and boat excursions.

Wonderful hotel situated on a beautiful location, right next to the beach, close by foot to the centre of Cres. The area around the hotel is peaceful and green. Breakfast and dinner was great, I especially liked the fact that they are using local, quality ingredients like fish, swiss chard, salad and olive oil. The hotel has a beutiful terrase where you can sit during breakfast or dinner. It was better than I expected it to be, and I am surprised that this hotel doesn't have 4 stars since it was by far better than many 4 stars hotels in other European countries.

Squeaky clean. Comfortable bed. The room has everything you need (kettle, mini fridge, WiFi, TV). Excellent air conditioning, heating mode is present. Very useful having been in early spring. This made it comfortable coming back after 3 h of hiking in the rain. Plus: very friendly and helpful host who immediately provided us with a drying rack given our wet hiking clothes. Lubenice is a great little mountain village with around 10-15 houses. There are a couple of restaurants (cash only with the nearest atm in Cres) and a small museum about sheep breeding :) Its great for a 2 nights stay as there are 2 beaches nearby (about 1 hour walking time to either of them - bring shoes as it can be very dangerous with flip flops). The beaches dont have any shops so vring water and food with you and there is little shade, so bring an umbrella or go down early to get space in the small bushes. The 3 nights we spent there were a bit much :)

The place is ideal for people who are looking for nice secret beach (beach St.Ivan) and who do not mind to walk there about 1 hour. The village has historical spirit, is very quiet and you can enjoy beautiful view to sunset. The local restaurant offers dellicious lamb food.

we enjoyed the trip to the blue cave beach, quite a steep walk, though. the town is really quiet at night, with just a small but nice restaurant and the sheep museum which is worth a visit with its interesting educational videos. the view from the cliffs is breathtaking.
