We ended up being upgraded to Skiathos Avaton villa and suites which was amazing and just up from the Avaton hotel. The room was lovely with its own jacuzzi/pool and the staff were friendly and helpful. The bartender made amazing mojitos. We ate in the Avaton hotel in both the bistro and restaurant and both were lovely, again with staff that were attentive and friendly. The hotel was fairly close to the town, a short walk away. However some of the roads didn’t have paths which was a little dangerous, but nothing major. The hotel is also close to the beach. The suites and villas are nestled on the side of a hill which make for lovely surroundings.

The location is great - 10 minute walk to bus stop and 15minute walk to centre. The bar area is lovely, out looking the ocean and beach. The staff were EXCEPTIONAL - particularly the lady at the front desk who booked us a couple of taxi’s. The room is cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast has a good selection of hot and cold options.

It's lively and close to airport.
It's lively and close to airport. Take bus or walk to city centre. Taxis are too expensive(€15)for such a short distance. Must visit overnight other near by islands. Overall we find Greece expensive compared to the way it use to be the cheapest of the cheap. Spain €2.50 for drink of wine or beer Greece €6-8 a drink. hotel cost reasonable €50 a night for good standard. We still go Greece the best country to holiday.

Favourite restaurant was Scala, great food and lovely views. Also loved Cucina da Maria, fab pizza.
Caught the boat from the harbour to Koukounaries beach, enjoyed the boat but very disappointed with the beach, only one taverna open with one set of very expensive sunbed. Stick to Megali Ammos

i had to spend a night there as late flight and could not get off island til next day.its the usual greek island scenario....shops and promenade decked with restaurants.bus runs to beaches but not a pretty place and not somewhere i would want to be.i had a very nice meal one eve ning vesuvius restaurant.the little folk museum was worth a visit costing 2 euro fifty...the price of an icecream.try to go direct to skopelos and avoid skiathos altogther.

Nice beaches but everything was extremely touristic and overcrowded. It is easy to move along the island, you don't need to rent a personal mean of transportation. Open air cinema experience was really cool. If you're looking for relax and authenticity try Skopelos instead ;)

We visited during the last week of October which was at the end of the season, so many restaurants bars ,shops were closed. Despite this enough tavernas / restaurants were open to eat somewhere different for our three day stay.
The weather was perfect hot enough but not too hot. There’s not a lot to do, but if you like just to relax and watch the world go by then it’s perfect.

The bed was huge, the location was literally the best there is , the owners are super super friendly and sweet and helpful with things that are even non-hotel related. They treat you more like a friend than a guest/ client. Equipped well, sheets changed everyday which is impressive, they had soap. Everything well thought of. And they are also pet friendly which is amazing. All the furniture are super new and modern . It is the definition of excellent value for money. Anytime i go back to Skiathos i will stay there.
The apartment is spacious and cosy, with old, but working appliances. From the balcony you can enjoy the view of the old port in Skiathos town. The location is great, close to everything you need. Since there's an airport close by, you can see and hear a lot of airplanes flying by from the balcony, which can be a pro or con. The housekeeping was done daily by a very frendly Greek lady, the staff of the hotel where we did our check-in was also very nice and helpful.

Hotel is in a very good location,close to Skiathos town with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.Room 18 was large enough to be comfortable and had a lovely view from the balcony.Staff were very helpful and always had a smile and a nice attitude.Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold food.We contacted the owner of the hotel and he kindly picked us up from the Airport and dropped us off when we were leaving so that was really helpful.
The view from our room, looking down over Skiathos Town, was breathtaking. And all rooms face the same way, so no matter which floor you are on, the elevated position of the hotel guarantees the same view.
The room and bed were both very comfortable, in fact the best we have had during our very may previous holidays in Greece. And the balcony was huge.

Hotel is located just next to the port. Amazing location. There is free parking just couple minutes walking away. It is also near the bus station. We had a medical situation, our hostess Dimi herself even drove to hospital to meet us. Room is simple, bed is very comfortable and rest of the staff are also very friendly. Beautiful, stylish place in Skiathos town. The owner was very nice and helpful, even giving me a lift to the airport in the morning. Short walks from restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. The balcony facing the port was also very nice to enjoy. You can watch the planes landing at the airport from the balcony.
