We were collected at Skiathos Port by a member of the Avaton staff by a private transfer who was very kind and helpful - taking our bags and driving us to Avaton Hotel, Suites and Villas. Upon arriving at the hotel the reception staff were very welcoming and took the care in explaining all that we needed to know.
We were then showed to our room which was absolutely exceptional - a hot tub on the balcony and a bottle of wine on the house! The rooms are very spacious, immaculately cleaned and the beds are HUGE and very comfy.
Dinner at the Black Pepper was outstanding with special thanks to Tre and his team. He is an incredible asset to Philian Hotels and Resorts and we were so pleased to see him after visiting last year.

Lovely well equipped studio with views over the bay, really soft and fluffy towels which is very unusual in Greece, friendly and helpful owners and staff.
Hellen Studios is a complex of 8 newly built, fully-furnished studios. It is located 50 meters from the beach of Megali Ammos and an less than a 10-minute walk from the centre of Skiathos.
Set amidst a lush garden with BBQ facilities and a children’s playground, the family-run Azalea Studios is located right above Ftelia Beach in Skiathos.

The hotel location is not ideal for a person unable to walk uphill and lots of steps - the bus service from the main road is frequent about every 15 minutes into town or to other beach areas along the coast

It was quite a natural beach with not too many sunbeds and parasols. Much quieter down one end with a small beach bar and busier the other end with a good selection of bars and restaurants, It had a nice view.

Megali Ammos is just beyond Skiathos town and is where the beach starts. This means that the beach is very close and so is the town - it is really easy to walk into town in the evening, choose a bar, restaurant or wander round and explore, and then get back to the hotel easily. Then there is a nearby bus stop to catch a bus to take you along the road to all the other beaches on Skiathos. In my opinion, Megali Ammos is the best place to stay. But Aghia Paraskevi is the best beach!

Try the beach side restaurants for breakfast, as well as evening meals. Bus into Skiathos town (only €1.60 pp) and hundreds of restaurants to choose from. Do the Mama Mia trip - great fun. Al.so the open air cinema in Skiathos town - got to see Mama Mia - really worth while.
Use the little water taxis to take you to other beach on the island - a great way to see the coastline- and really cheap.
Go watch the planes land and take off - but take care, it can be dangerous if you stand too close.

Quiet "neighborhood" with some restaurants and cafe. 10' from the centre and 10' minutes from Vromolimnos, Koukounaries and the rest of the famous beaches of the island (we were using a bike). Megali ammos as a beach was ok but not the best compared to the others. We had dinner at Polykratis and the food was tasty.

Bus to beaches are excellent, we liked Troulos beach, also number 8 is very nice you get off bus and walk through Kassandra Bay hotel, once we left the beach we had a glass of wine there before getting the bus.
Skiathos town has so many restaurants spoilt for choice, we liked Hellinikon a lovely fish restaurant with live greek music.
If you like jewellery The Blue House art gallery on the front port is lovely.
What a lovely place! Very nice looking, clean rooms with good comfortable beds, solid WIFI and a delicious breakfast.
Great location too, overlooking Megali Amos and sea, and Skiathos town is just a 15 min stroll along the beach from the hotel.
Really nice team, everyone super friendly, efficient and helpful, and when our taxi to the airport was delayed, the team / owners decided to bring us to the airport in their own car, so we wouldn’t miss our flight (thank you!!).
We’ll definitely come back!
Excellent room decoration and design. Spacious room with fridge. Welcome drink (good quality wine). Very good quality wifi. Elevator from street level to hotel facilities (no need to climb stairs). Location, excellent sea view. Easy access to nearby bus stop. Or, one can easily walk (25 mins) to Skiathos town center and port area. Pool area with maginificent sea view. Very good quality and tasty dinner in restaurant.
the apartment is well looked after and I was treated well. The room is cleaned daily and the sheets and towels are changed every two days. Walking for 15 minutes, you arrive in the center of Skiathos. In 10 minutes on foot you arrive on Megali Ammos beach. the bus stop that leads to all the beaches is very close. the view I enjoyed really impressive. good experience.
The best aspect is the location: a 10-minute walk to Skiathos town and about 30 seconds to the beach. The view from the balcony is great. The studio was quite simple, but functional and I think this is a top value option. The staff are friendly and provided an iron when we asked for it.
All the staff were very friendly, Debbie made sure we were happy helping us with recommendations and transport. The room was modern, large and spotless. The location is perfect, very close to the beach and a 10 minute walk into Skiathos town. Highly recommend this hotel.
The owner family is very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is right next to the beach with a bar right at the water. Skiathos city with lots of restaurant choices is a 10 minute walk away, but there are also a handful of recommendable restaurants close by.
Nina was brilliant, leaving the great service on aside, Azalea is located in a great side of the island with a very close beach where from your balcony you can feel the freedom and enjoyed the incredible view
