It's lively and close to airport.
It's lively and close to airport. Take bus or walk to city centre. Taxis are too expensive(€15)for such a short distance. Must visit overnight other near by islands. Overall we find Greece expensive compared to the way it use to be the cheapest of the cheap. Spain €2.50 for drink of wine or beer Greece €6-8 a drink. hotel cost reasonable €50 a night for good standard. We still go Greece the best country to holiday.

Favourite restaurant was Scala, great food and lovely views. Also loved Cucina da Maria, fab pizza.
Caught the boat from the harbour to Koukounaries beach, enjoyed the boat but very disappointed with the beach, only one taverna open with one set of very expensive sunbed. Stick to Megali Ammos

i had to spend a night there as late flight and could not get off island til next day.its the usual greek island scenario....shops and promenade decked with restaurants.bus runs to beaches but not a pretty place and not somewhere i would want to be.i had a very nice meal one eve ning vesuvius restaurant.the little folk museum was worth a visit costing 2 euro fifty...the price of an icecream.try to go direct to skopelos and avoid skiathos altogther.

Nice beaches but everything was extremely touristic and overcrowded. It is easy to move along the island, you don't need to rent a personal mean of transportation. Open air cinema experience was really cool. If you're looking for relax and authenticity try Skopelos instead ;)

We visited during the last week of October which was at the end of the season, so many restaurants bars ,shops were closed. Despite this enough tavernas / restaurants were open to eat somewhere different for our three day stay.
The weather was perfect hot enough but not too hot. There’s not a lot to do, but if you like just to relax and watch the world go by then it’s perfect.
You can easily walk around the town

Local buses run regularly and not expensive.

The location of the hotel is the best for Skiathos. It is located in the centre of the main Street of the City and it is very close to the old harbor and to the bus stop.
Also our host, George, is an amazing person and made us feel like home.
Finally, the room was very clean and it was cleaned every day. The cleaners were also bringing a new bottle of water to us every day.
I recommend booking the room with the balcony and window looking in the garden instead of the room with the window looking inside.
The host, Dimitri was very helpful and friendly, meeting at us at the bottom of the steps upon arrival. He helped us carry our bags up the steps to check in. The room was clean and spacious, with an amazing view overlooking the bay. The Rock is situated in a fantastic location in the Old Town on the doorstep of the waterfront and restaurants, and within a few minutes easy walk to centre of Skiathos Town itself. A small climb to the accomodation from the waterfront, but well worth it for the view.
Super clean hotel inside the center of skiathos, great people running the property. Everything we asked for was in the room. 10 out for 10 for me. Some stairs if you go straight from the port though or a small uphill road if you go from papadiamanti Street but at the end you get your payback with an unbeatable view to the port. Giota and Babis were the best hosts offering free rides also to and from the airport!! Really appreciated!! Keep it up GUYS, you are awesome!! Exceptional!
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional customer service! The breakfast was absolutely fresh with a variety of options to choose from. The hotel’s location was also perfect because you’re near town and megali Ammos beach as well. (Visit achinos beach bar , the best beach bar of the island).
Overall, we had a great stay. A big thank to Avaton staff !!!!

Small but nice pool & sun beds.
Due to it being on a hill a taxi was a must coming back from town however this was expected and part of having a hotel with a pool and a view! The walk down to town is doable on foot but steep at times, it took about 15-20 mins to get to the port (most of the way doesn’t have a pavement).
Every single aspect of our stay in this sweet family owned boutique hotel was spectacular! Owner/host Fofi made us feel like family every time we interacted. Every staff member was incredibly kind and helpful. It was wonderful being that close to the old port. Everything was immaculate and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! We Love Fofi & Hotel Mato!

I would definitely recommend Vabel hospitality to whoever is looking for a family run, cozy, high standard accommodation in the island! The location is just perfect, close enough to Skiathos town to easily walk to the centre but located in a very quiet area!
Asteri Studios was in a hill so we had a very beautiful view. Good position, very quiet but not so far from the centre of skiathos town. The apartment was OK, large and with a balcony in front of the sea. I liked also the garden with table chairs and a dog and cats and the possibility to do some exercises with stepper and weights.

A lovely, modern, clean apartment in the centre of beautiful Skiathos Town. A fantastic location to experience the lively vibe of main the town as area well as chill out in the many tavernas of the Old Port. The owner, Emilia, was very welcoming and gave me lots of ideas for things to do and great places to eat!
Great location, just outside of skiathos town, 5 mins walk to centre. Located just around the corner from bus stop no 3, local supermarket, coffee shop and deli all around the corner too! Room was cleaned every day, fresh towels any day you need them, pool towels also provided. Would definitely stay here again!
Nice modern place just a little outside of the main center of Skiathos town. We really appreciated practical setting of the main room with many storage possibilities. Little balcony is nice to have, but is without any privacy, as it is facing pool area.

Naftilos was in an excellent location, close to the centre of Skiathos town but far enough away to be peaceful! Annie was incredibly accommodating and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags for the day and giving us lots of local recommendations. The room was basic but well equipped and comfortable.
